Invent Animate has turned into this emotional/soul driven metalcore band and I’m absolutely in love with it. You can hear the growth in their music, absolute banger of an album. Much love for Ben English, but Lars Marcus Vik is my favorite vocalist in the genre currently. Versatile and so talented, and his lyricism is so profound. Amazing.
What you mentioned, exactly those songs, I call "the perfect set for deeply crying people". Haunting, emotional. Sensitive metalheads will appreciate more that kind of music 😊 And maybe I'd add Elysium to that list as well.
I'm absolutely blown away by this album goosebumps the whole way through. Easily one of the best modern Metal Core albums ive ever heard. This is at least an 8/10 album even if you dont really like Metal Core (its a 10/10 for me)
After what Northlane, Lorna Shore, Currents, Sleep Token, Periphery, and others have shown recently, I'd disagree. It's maybe a 7 if you don't like metalcore and an 8 if you do. If you have a very narrow taste in music and only compare it to contemporaries, it's probably a 9.
It's been probably 15 years since I have had an album I listened to from start to finish over and over. Heavener is the first album in a long time that I can't get enough of and play start to finish almost daily. What an incredible and amazing album. I think about the songs all throughout the day which hasn't happened for me in a long time.

The riff reminds my of the time when Architetcs wrote great songs. But IA are master in fusing the beauty and the beast. No other band has this emotional range, but still aretechnical af.
Literally just discovered this band and going in 3 weeks to see them in Toronto. I don't go to concerts often, only for the best of the best bands on occasion, and Invent Animate is on another tier, along with Spiritbox for me. I hope they lean towards this melodic soulful metal. What a chorus!
It's very refreshing to hear melodic hooks and choruses in an era with riff salads and garbage copy cat bands. This is the album of the year if you ask me, and lots of people would agree with me.

Invent is literal soul music. Nothing even compares. I can’t even comprehend, I just can feel every single aspect of it and I absolutely love it.
