Yes, I LOVE when you dissect your photos and tell the story. It's definitely informative and a great way to learn. I especially like when you say what you would have done differently. I for sure learn more from my mistakes than my successes

Great pair of videos Steve. I follow several photography channels and oftentimes my wife is in the room while I’m watching. As I started watching your top 23 of 2023, she was totally engaged and loved hearing the stories behind the photos, as was I. We both loved the leopard photo backlit by the sun with its breath visible. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful images! It is amazing how our brains work but the experience we have taking an image brings so much joy and satisfaction in the way we see the final image.

Hey Steve, outstanding video. Thank you for taking the time to put these 'Favourites videos' together. Getting great captures is rewarding but living the actual moment is the very best part of what we do as wildlife photographers and this is why I so love the back stories to your images. Observing the wildlife is awesome, but observing any species often enough to get to understand its behaviour is humbling and prepares us to get those very special captures ... well it does sometimes. Othertimes it comes down to luck ... but isn't it true that the more you're out there amongst nature the luckier you get .... lol

The GGOW is both of our favorite wildlife subjects to photograph. I'm a 3hr drive to see them so I don't get to see them often and they don't always appear when I'm there. I love that head-on shot you got.

I just love and appreciate how you go about putting yourself (and at times your clients) in the position to capture these amazing images. Beyond the positioning, you also have to have the vision to ‘see’ the image and get your settings correct. Lastly, you simply have to be out there, win or lose, repeatedly to come away with a wonderful composition that is executed well. Just amazing talent.

Thanks Steve. Great photos and great stories. Hard to decide on my favourites but the grizzly looking back is excellent and good on you for staying collected to get the shot. Leopard backlit portrait is superb. The cheetah though at full speed is amazing. So many great photos but that one got me. Thx for sharing.

So glad you put out these annual favorites. Love your background stories and always interesting to hear your settings and lens selection. Like you, my favorite shot would probably change from time to time. The Tetons gave you a great show for your Moose workshop. Love them with a dusting of snow. Interesting selection of the Tamron lens. The 400 2.98 isn't cheap and neither is the 180-600 so surprised you weren't using a Nikon 70-200 2.8 as it has a pretty good reputation as well and money doesn't appear to be your chief concern.

Having bought a camera Nikon Z9 , is it strictly necessary to use Z lense or can I use AF-S via adapter ? How much does speed, focusing quality etc. deteriorate ??? Or Nikon Z9 plus Z lense is the BEST ??? p.s. : I ask , because I have a full set of lenses AF-S ( 600 and etc... ) Kind regards Evgeny
