  • Hi All! Welcome to Episode 15 of our van build series. Today, Marc is building wheel well covers (wheel boxes) to allow us to add some insulation around the wheel wells....and to provide a flat surface for us to attach electrical and plumbing components later. The goal is to use scrap lumber that we have lying around and join it all with pocket screws, glue and finish nails. Hope you like it :)
If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment below, and please give a thumbs-up if you enjoyed this video and found in helpful to you. Subscribe to our channel to follow along on our entire van build series.

Just wanted to thank you for your video on installing the scopema swivel with modifications to avoid the spacers. I'm off to the hardware store to get the washers, I'll get them installed and then I'll be done. Your video was easy to follow and explained potential pitfalls, so thank you.

A bed tray. Ha! I'm currently traveling in my van and wish I had squared off the wheel wells with a cover. Their curve makes them really hard to store stuff on top of. Thanks for this easy to follow, informative, entertaining video. Subscribed and looking forward to checking out more of your videos for build tips!

So did you leave the top open on the wheel well box in case you need to run wiring / anything else electrical related through before closing it off?

To be honest, those things are still in the garage....but, yes, I left them open in case I wanted to stick anything in them. I may add a lid later if its needed.
