    It’s 2024 !! I went through a few videos on UA-cam today then found yours, it’s awesome explanation for beginners. It’s my first day starting this and already got some basic moves from your tutorial. Thanks man :)

      If you're used to going barefoot your feet toughen up to the extent that it's almost impossible to hurt them. I grew up in Africa and never wore shoes unless it was a formal occassion which living out in the bush was very rare! I could go over rocks, stones, boiling ground etc and feel nothing.

    Awesome. Thanks.
    When I searched... I was getting the lousy looking cutting shapes type of tutorial...
    I don't want to learn that...
    This is by far the best tutorial I've seen... It provides both the small and big picture to the craft..
    In a way I feel like I'm learning the history of shuffle as well...
    Highly recommended

      Honestly I learnt a lot of these moves prior to watching this video and I'm recording myself thinking why do I look so gay. Then I started watching more of the old school Melbourne shuffle videos and I'm still sitting here trying to get myself to flow. It finally came to me that ive been performing the more "cali style" since I learnt by watching their videos. It was the simple things such as a wider stance, straight posture and those simple yet effective hand movements that sealed the deal. Your tutorial was much appreciated!

    I love Shuffling and dance and general, all you guys make great tutorials for shuffling, but theses dance moves that you'll gives names to have been done along time ago. I'm from New York and have been dancing since the 80's and on any giving weekend at a house party or a techno club you'll see people "Rocky kicking" or "Aurora Kicking" without the Rocky or Aurora present. As you can tell from the movements, Hip Hop has a big influence on all these dance moves, they are great, they don't need any labels or credits, they've been done since the beginning, Keeping on dancing and teaching, take the ego out and everyone will have fun without the hate.

    • @AuroraProductions95
      @AuroraProductions95  9 років тому +3

      Naming moves has nothing to do with ego. The reason they are called what they are is because no one know what they were and had to justify them by naming them after the people they first saw it from on youtube. As you can probably recall, Melbourne shuffling wasnt very prominent on youtube until about late 2006. The trend has been around since 1981 roughly. Peoples styles have evolved since then and these very same people invented their own moves and ways of shuffling such as sacco, mikki, rocky, reece, and various other early youtube shufflers. These moves are, again, named simply to identify what they are.

      I always have shuffled with bare feet. I cant really shuffle in shoes that well and socks will obviously get ripped and worn. My bare feet are used to the abuse and done get torn up like they did when I first started shuffling base in 2011. Thank you so much for the compliment! I never wouldve imagined that this tutorial would get so insanely popular with how long it is. I personally thought that my way of teaching wasn't going to be clear enough or specific enough for people but I guess I did a good job in making this and showing how everything comes together. This video will soon reach 100k views. That will be absolutely insane. It almost has 1000 likes, which is also insane. I am so grateful for the support all of you have given me throughout the years and on this video especially.

    I do. I'm not that great at speaking on camera. Since this was a single take, I had a hard time using my logic of Melbourne Shuffle but for the most part, I pulled it off. I had to basically make an entire script on the spot without faulting so I was more concerned about not stalling.

      you never taught to glide yet ive been shuffling for a long time ive seen people glide side to side many times but i cant figure out how to do it

    • @AuroraProductions95
      @AuroraProductions95  9 років тому

      +Tweaks Unleashed Think of it like this; running man in place and when you want to transition, just take your leg behind you and stretch it a little further backwards. When you do this, you will have to reset back into that high knee I was talking about when I taught the running man. In that instance, you will be "gliding" away from where you originally started. Just keep doing that until you get to a spot where you want to start going back to where you started. There are many many ways to glide. The way I do it is a bit more advanced, considerably. You basically tstep and tap the ground with your opposing leg and move from side to side that way. Everyone has at one point or another, had trouble learning to glide. Just keep practicing man, youll get it =). If youd like to learn from a tutorial of mine, there is one in the description of this video. See if that can help. If not, contact me on facebook: "Nick Hodgkin". My picture is myself and my wife. Im in my dress blues and she's in a dress. I will make you a tutorial, Personally. Let me know if any of this helped my man. =)

    i’ve been shuffling for a bit passively but recently started focusing on melbourne instead of cutting shapes and hardjump. the problem with my running man is that even though it feels like i’m putting in energy into my kicks, it looks like i’m lazily walking. i’ve tried bending my back, arm movements, and moving how high/low to put my leg, but i just seems off.
    is this common? :-(
