Yoyoka! I never get tired of hearing you and Ai Furusato play together. You two seem to really have an outstanding chemistry together and read each other beautifully like a hand in a glove. So lovely. The music that the two of you produce is exceptional. I can't imagine what you guys will come up with in 20 years? Its hard to imagine what your mastery of your instruments and composing will produce in that time span because you are both such outstanding musicians already! I wish you both great joy and success with everything you do. You both deserve it! Peter St. John Clovis, CA
Being there in person to listen to these "kids" play such a complex piece in person was an honor and privilege then to hear it again and appreciate it's intricacies a second time makes it that much more special. Then on top of that it's a collaboration of an original song _WOW!
If I were just listening to this without watching a video, I would think that two of the all-time jazz greats were playing, just by the amazing composition of the piece and the incredible way the performers melded their talents to create a masterpiece. But when you see them, it just boggles the mind. I have been a fan of Yoyoka for a long time, since she was about 6 or 7 years old doing rock drum covers that were exquisite, especially the fact that she didn't read music and did everything by ear. She's obviously honed her craft and built up her repertoire tremendously, but when I heard her first composition, "Sparkling", I was stunned. And now "Changes" goes even further up the talent level than ever before. It's not easy to compose jazz, it takes a lot of vision and feeling to have the composition feel smooth and identifiable, without any jarring dissonance. And what else can you say about Ai !!!!! It's not unusual to see young piano players do well with classical aspect of the instrument, but to be so proficient in jazz as she is a testament to her young mind. She's 12 now, but I read that she's been composing jazz pieces since she was 7. Don't quote me, but the possibility of someone so young being able to handle the complexities of jazz is astounding. When I watch them, I'm sure Oscar Peterson and Buddy Rich are smiling down on them, seeing what the younger generations are capable of. Just keep going you two !!!!!!!
Incredible. Not to mention only 15 and 13 years old. But at this point age is just a number, they both play as well as anyone on the planet, no matter what age.
That's some real smooth jazz right there! Reminds me of some of what my dad and I listened to as a kid in the 80's. I sent this UA-cam video for him to listen to and he LOVES it. He's very picky about his jazz and very hard to impress, but he really loves this. We live continents away now, but we're both going to buy your CD. You're both absolutely incredible!!
As Wave Potter said in his reaction to this tune, if they remain friends and collaborators what wonders will they come up with in the future? With a suitable bassist and maybe horn player or guitarist what a combo they would be.
thank you Yoyoka and Ai for nourishing my ears and soul and giving me hope! it is all too easy to get discouraged by politics and greed, militarization and suffering -- but here is proof that creativity, intelligence, play and talent can and does do beautiful things! 😎
@@gameboy228 i didn't bring politics into the discussion, it is part of life and i simply used it as a point of reference for contrast. there is no need for you to be contentious about my way of praising Ai and Yoyoka's composition & performance. just Let It Be
Ai is awesome!....love her playing!
I hope someday you two will be able to perform a full concert together. Your musical communication is so perfect. 🙂
It is always great to see extraordinary musicians collaborate. It is especially satisfying when both are prodigies!
Always amazing! This duo is spectacular and one of my favorite Yoyoka collaborations.
Yoyoka and Ai are both very classy and have exceptional talent, the benefits of which we can hear. And what beautiful humility on Yoyoka's part.
Thank you, and what a pairing you two make. Magical.
That whole song was amazing, but the last 90 seconds or so were sublime.

The young lady on the piano is amazing.
She’s Ai Furusato and she’s 13 and going to the Berkeley School of Music in the US. Youngest person ever accepted by them.

very nice ladies, loved the vid.
I d like it to see the disbelieve of people having listened to this when the blindfold is removed. (this sounds much better than the one before.)
なんか、いい相棒を見つけたような感はある。
お互い違うジャンルだから、理解できるところもあるし、
まだ知り得てない感覚も二人で共有できる。
かっこいいよね。この曲。
