I have a 2020 Rebel with the Ram Box and regular Hemi, coming up on 29,000 miles. Very good cruiser vehicle, I took it out to South Dakota from Georgia, did just fine and comfortable. I have not had one thing go wrong with the truck, just regular maintenance on it. Great truck so far.

Beautiful trucks. I’m a ford guy, own an F150 and love the power and comfort….. but do you notice how clean the engine bays look on RAMs vs the spaghetti matrix of hoses and plumbing on a ford?

Brad, I never liked Fords, until 2021. Now they are nice in&out, like the powertrains, like the power-boost. Good luck.

I’ll never forget this, and I know somewhat unrelated, but this was never more apparent than when I was at an auto show in ~ 2008. Comparing the GM 5.3 to fords (then 5.4)…..I could have fit a briefcase on either side of the GM engine but looking at the spaghetti mess of hoses and wiring in the Ford I couldn’t find a place where I could drop a wrench and have a snowflakes chance in hell of hitting the ground. Both trucks did all the same things. I’m not a Ford hater by the way, they make some great products these days.

Have to agree you open the hood of that cool looking bronco and it's like someone threw up in the engine bay.really Ford that's the best you can do? it's almost like they slammed the hood and said. F k it . For 60k it looks like that wow you don't even wanna show anyone the engine . Wonder how that's gonna be 10 yrs from now with a 100k good luck

I sold my 2017 Rebel this year. Only two negatives I can say about it, 15MPG and the halogen headlights were not good. The interior ergonomics were fantastic with tons of usable storage space and every knob and button was easy to use and in the right place.

      @MrCh1cken 3 роки тому +26

@@TFLnow I did not have a pressing need for a truck so I sold it to take advantage of the high value of used trucks. I used the proceeds to pay down my mortgage which will now be payed off in 2022.
If/when the market returns to normal I'll be looking at a hybrid 1/2 ton pickup. The current leading candidate is the new Tundra.

@@sonsofliberty3081 The dealer had added aftermarket wheels and tires. They looked great but were a sizeable MPG penalty. Memory says they measured at 34+ inches.
We bought it at Twilight and I didn't notice the wheel and tire swap until days later. LOL.
Sticker was 54k, bought it at 44k, four years later sold it for 40k back in June. Might have gotten a little more if I had waited longer.

@@MrCh1cken another big mpg suckered is tire tread. In my semi I had open shoulder lugs because I took a lot of stuff into job sites like heavy equipment. I needed tires and I didn't have many options at the place I was at because at a truck stop they stock more closed shoulder tires for company trucks and were out of what I get when I usually get back home. I ended up getting the closed shoulder and picked up almost a whole mgp. Now when you get 7mpg and get to almost 8mpg at 150k+ miles a year. You notice it. I still have to have a small lug on my pickup though. I feel helpless if I don't, mostly because we don't live in or around town.

Isn't that twelve inch screen a bit like having a television set? What's so great about having such a huge screen? Their 8.4" Inch screen seems plenty big. What's the main advantage of that twelve inch screen please? I'd get that Rebel if it was available with a front bench style seat, rear reclining seats and the full air suspension. I think you said your Rebel has the air suspension so I'm glad for that at least. Do you know if the Rebel is available with the larger fuel tank and the multi function tailgate and the new full reflection LED headlights and 360° camera system? I had a 08 Big Horn that had a lot of upgrades it was nice.
My Bighorn BackCountry has a smooth, nice ride
On roads, has an eltronic stabilizer bar.
It smooths out rough roads as well.
This is not new I had a 2003 Laramie that I run 33x12.5 Procomp all terrians.
I would go on a trip and take a shortcut road that sod trucks used it was unpaved with dips.
The truck ran very smoothly,I could do 60 on that road once after a storm. I did catch air, but it planted fine.
So they ride great on both surfaces.

Great comparison! Regarding the Backcountry, I believe it comes standard with the 3:92 gears and locking rear axle as part of the package. We bought the Backcountry last Friday; I wanted the Rebel, my wife liked the Backcountry. It appealed to her more as a "mature" truck, where the Rebel with its red accents, lack of side step, etc. felt more like what we would have had 30-years ago. Ours also came with the 12" touch screen, and like you, that was the last thing I wanted... but married guys-- smart married guys-- learn to make compromises LOL! Should also mention that we never do off-roading. We do however, travel a lot of logging roads, side roads and the occasional country field. So all in all the Backcountry fits our needs better. But I still like the looks of the Rebel by a large margin ;)

I don’t have the eTorque but what I’ve read about it is just something else to fail . The 3.21 will give you better mpg in the highway but less acceleration . I have the 3.92 and love it since I do mostly city driving but I’ll guess the 3.55 will be the best all around

My friend's Rebel scared him to death. The rear end locked up while he was driving down the road and almost pulled him into the other lane of traffic. This is the second friend that had a problem with Dodge/Ram 1500 4x4. I don't think I can go with Ram regardless of good they look. I hope you don't have the problem.

Backcountry sounds awful. Just call it the outdoorsman again.
I have a 21 rebel love it but it does suck on gas. I also think the factory dura tracs are trash and wear badly. Had a 17 rebel with one air suspension issue, so went without this time very happy.
