I really enjoy when you use music like this song - it makes the videos distinctive. I also enjoy traveling Japan (and other places) vicariously through you! Thanks for these videos.
Love the looks of this train -- I'm familiar with the "romance cars" of the Tokyo area lines, and the shinkansen for Tokyo/Kyoto -- but I think you've given me a reason to look into maybe a Osaka to Nagoya trip one day soon. Loved the background music - keep up the good work!
I know "Buttons and Bows" well and it was amusing to hear it sung in Japanese. It's all about how a woman in the wild west missed the pretty clothing she used to wear back east. Personally, I loved it! And that train! Would that we had such options in the States.
I am watching all your Japanese videos 📹, one at a time. Fascinating. Each one better than the previous. . I saw a video a few years ago, of a city named I think Koyosan. Sure looked interesting. In the mts, next to a large cemetery. All I can tell you. Many Buddhist temples. Some you can spend the night. See you next video 📹. 😊😊
Yes, that's Koya-san (Mount Koya). I was there many years ago in the heart of winter. Lots of snow and super quiet among all those temples. I stayed at a temple where they served great vegetarian food. It was great
Two comments, Jeremy -- That has gotta be the most luxurious train ever, at least among non-sleepers. How come we can't have trains like that in the US? But did you really have to listen to that same song over and over the whole time? It's an American classic, I know, but I can't remember the lyrics. A showtune? I really look forward to these Saturday rides with you.
I'd love for the US to try some trains like this. I'd hope people would ride them and appreciate them. That song is a Japanese version of "Buttons and Bows", from 1948. Didn't have to hear it over and over, I just added it when editing. Think it was in there too much? I think the singer is singing something like "buttsanbows", to make it flow smoothly in Japanese syllables ;) Glad you're riding along with me each week!
Was that buttons and bows? A smoking car? Wow figured those didn't exist anymore. Another great vlog Jeremy. Those front row seats looked nice! This is a great train experience for sure. You need to come ride Brightline with me when it opens Orlando to Miami.
That was indeed a Japanese version of Buttons and Bows. Don't think there was a smoking *car*, just a small smoking room in between two of the cars. The Florida train sounds fun, hope I can get there!
I booked my Hinotori ride exactly 1 month ahead of time. When the system starts selling tickets at 10:30am local time, the front seat was snapped up right away, and I can only settle for 2A! What a bummer.
Don't know that I'd have referred to bathroom lighting as "tasteful" (5:16). Maybe _pleasant_ or _soothing_ might be more fitting to the facilities in question. Or maybe it's just me. I, too, regret the lack of a forward view in train travel, which is my preferred mode of public transportation. But yours is one of the few mentions I've heard of that drawback (6:15) and it causes me to wonder if this is a common bother or if it doesn't matter to most passengers.
@@T1DWanderer It's the _forward_ attribute I find intriguing, as it encompasses, specifically, a view of the railroad tracks to be traversed and a general view of what is to come. How is that more-or-less satisfying, I wonder, as opposed to a lateral view? Just sayin'.
The first thing that I noticed was the absolute lack of disgusting graffiti in the cities and on the trains. You can tell a lot about a people and a society by how clean and litter free they keep their neighborhoods. The people living in the inner cities of America and for that matter all Western countries should learn from the Japanese.
Just wanted to say I adore the music in every video.❤❤❤
Thanks! Hope the music adds to the quirky feel of the train rides

Thanks! Glad to hear that the music works :D
Watching and thinking of Amtrak 😅…..one day, one day America ❤️🇺🇸💪💪🚄🚅🚝
I know, I couldn't help but think of Amtrak while riding this too
Amtrak needs to look at what the airlines have done with seating options.
Another great video! That train is beautiful.
Nice all around! Train, music, editing! Will watch some more, Jeremy! Regards from Gustavo / Brasília, Brazil! T2D
Thank you Gustavo!

Thanks for the comments, and for the feedback about the music choice :)
Thank you for sharing your adventures once again!
Of course, thanks for watching again

Yeah this train ride was really nice. And who knew there was a Japanese version of "Buttons and Bows"!

Wow. I knew they went early, but I didn't know it was that fast! Must be some fast-fingered train fans waiting each day

Judging by the number of people sleeping or on their phones, I guess the view just isn't as important to a lot of people

😮😮😮😮😮So cool❤❤❤
We love Japan Train 🍒🍒🍒
I enjoyed the music
where can I fine buttons & bows in Japanese?
I found it on archive.org (they have a 78 rpm audio collection)
Always the fastest method!
is this a straight train from Nagoya to Osaka?
Yes it is

And when you do see graffiti in Japan, it's often a cute little face or something like that. But there's not nearly as much of it
I thought this would be about Sapphir Odoroki haha
Maybe someday, I'll make a note of it. Thanks!
