Hey DUBS, id just like to thank you for making these videos. you explain everything really well. For people who just know the theory of drifting and have the instincts to naturally pick it up, drifting will be easy for them. But for those who see drifting as more complicated and challenging, and by not understand the point of countersteering and acceleration, drifting will be naturally harder for them and take more practice. just keep making videos man, you deserve more views.
I already knew how to drift but I could not hold my drifts very long, and I thought it was just because I needed more practice. I didn't realize that you had to tap the accelerator throughout and that would make the car more consistent. Thank you so much!
In my opinion, his advice was helpful, and I experimented a bit, and for me I use the e brake (circle button) to get the drift started and I just find it to be another way to do the drifting
in most case scenarios, do you recommend using the e-brake or the hand brake? i find that the handbrake makes the tyres skid earlier making it easier to start off. also i get triggered that if you use a steering wheel instead of a controller its so much easier to do countersteer and drift.
Hello. Sorry for commenting many years later but I have a question since I started in the drift and I'm on GT5 PS3, and your video motivated me a lot and I didn't know how you skid like that in the curves because my car does not reach the entire curve and stays no power, Thanks.
im new to this whole concept, i just bought the game and i reall love drifting but belive me its so frustrating not being able to do what it seems to easy for you, lol thanks for the video I accidentaly (meaning I had no idea u recommend it) started with the S15 Nissan silvia lol as you said it was a nice car in some other vid but its really being alot of frustration to me lol
I normally turn off everything in the driving options, and use a 1988 supra fully tuned to 520 hp. This gives easy drift spins and even powerslides at higher speeds, in automatic mode. Manual is even more fun.
I learned to drift in gt5 prologue through practice all the time.No tutorials, no tuned cars , no advanced settings. I can't drift in every track as i need to practice first. That's what i advise you to do.
I was stupid enaugh to learn my self drift before a watched this video. But now when i listen to him i hear exactly those things i had problem with. So it's a good video
thanks dude,it really helped me a lot.. And yes, there is no way you can learn it without practicing it,i believe that the key to drift is to control your acceleration,if you just simply step on it like hell you will, spin out.. Thank one more time..
hey DUBS i got the drifting down (kinda) but when i go online...i can't drift..even though its a drift race....i'm confused on how to drift online and what i have to do (tuning and game options wise)
I was on logitech gt and it felt so realistic and I was in a lambo murcilago it was confusing how to drift cause I was using a steering wheel that has force feedback
Just as a note mate, you had set the Controller Sensitivity to 0, but I find for a beginner it his better to crank it up to 7, because your steering response becomes instant. This might not be realistic, but in my opinion it can help you get that reaction to the car getting too much angle, or not enough. Note that it doesn't affect anyone trying with a wheel though.
Normal brake, because you still need to maintain the car's speed when you enter the corner. Handbrake is only for angle adjustment and sliding (balancing) during the drift. Please be advised that a good throttle control plus speed control can easily initiate a good drift without handbrake. Do try both!
Another tip on how to make the car go sideways easier is to have racing tires in front (considering you drift with a rwd car) and have comfort or sport tires. it will make your car get sideways almost automatically :) no handbrake
I did get over 10k in the full lap drift yesterday. it was wicked cool and I did using your settings. you so rock and now i'm at 8400 in sector mode. the chase is on to get the dream drifter trophy. any hints on how to do it ?
do you need to use hard tiers? BECAUSE in the the default drift. it was soft, and i always keep spining around. sometimes what happen is i cant drift the whole way
yeah i know, maybe i went a bit over the top, the point is, that people watch something, try and copy it then complain they cant do it. You teach the basic concepts which is good. I'm assuming you are using a controller to drift, when you get a wheel... yeah, you'll find yourself learning all over again. Especially when you gotta pay more attention to suspension and LSD set up.
i can do it with a 4 wheel drive car but i cant drift rear wheel drive cars. the fwd cars i use the handbrake then add power and it straitens its self out again
please take this as constructive critisism. Ok when drifting, the whole point is to make your rear end slide out and go as fast as you can with your front wheels in a counter steer near the kerbstones. You should tune your suspension with a toe in like and a softer suspension in the rear. Also use comfort hard or sport hard cause they are cheap and lack grip. Also use a LSD if possible. And start the drift earlier. Thank you.
Can you drift with a steering wheel controller? I have a GT Driving Force Pro and it is really tough to drift with. I have semi perfected it but I never can hold drifts for very long
drifting is easy once you get the right tuning done I do 60 60 30 on the LSD and raise the spring rates up to 10.5 all around with sports hard or medium
Man still making stuff after 8 years, good job man
Why tf GT5 looks better than GT Sport
It is way better, except for sound and graphics.
@@nine182 not really the only better thing is gt mode
No cap
because its better
Its like gran turismo 6.5 its not like a full version

I know this. Video is from 8 years ago but HOLY MAN U HELPED ME SO MUCH U EARNED A LIKE AND. NEW SUB
3:55 heheh turd gear
Nice drifting tips, I'll put in practice next weekend. Great vid.
I already knew how to drift but I could not hold my drifts very long, and I thought it was just because I needed more practice. I didn't realize that you had to tap the accelerator throughout and that would make the car more consistent. Thank you so much!
This video really helped me, I’ve been practicing with the RX-7 but now I’m using the SL 55 AMG because it’s got a little more power.
DIAMLER they are really nice cars in real life my dad has one
In my opinion, his advice was helpful, and I experimented a bit, and for me I use the e brake (circle button) to get the drift started and I just find it to be another way to do the drifting
Very nice video. Unfortunately i had to figure out how to drift myself but now i am the drift king
now i knew, what is the problem with my drifting. THANKS to you..
I'm flooring the acceleration so much, not even releasing it..
Me too that's the only way I know. If I'm driving a car in real life I can do it but it's different on asphalt and on video games
i did not know how to drift and when i watched your video it helped me a lot thanks : )
I personally buy suspension not just tires but a solid front camber helps a lot. I have 10 degrees of front camber on all my drifters.
in most case scenarios, do you recommend using the e-brake or the hand brake?
i find that the handbrake makes the tyres skid earlier making it easier to start off.
also i get triggered that if you use a steering wheel instead of a controller its so much easier to do countersteer and drift.

I use my handbrake to get my rpm up :)
Hey
@@kyeiscracked hi
Buddy gave me gt5, last GT game I played I hated, wanted to try this out and see if I could drift. Still havent played but i might enjoy this lol
Thanxs a "billion"!! This the 1st time that I could really understand how to drift on GT5
Thanks man I was having a horrible time with drifting, but now because of you I'm ok.
thanx for these types of vids so handy when you need advise.
This tuturial is veru useful. Thanks DUBS

Love the rotary engines on those cars makes it so responsive
I'm gonna do this with the Buick Special...
Thanks. This was the explanation i needed.
you are the best DUBsmb this helped me a lot! :)

I've Found if you need more control over the car, Sports Medium tires usually does the trick, especially if the car is bombed.
Cats also have excellent hearing and a powerful sense of smell.
Very nice video! You explained very well!
That was a very good tutorial.Thank you Dubs!
You're welcome
It's up to you. Personally I drift with regular breaks because I do weight transfer and over steer
I learned to drift in gt5 prologue through practice all the time.No tutorials, no tuned cars , no advanced settings. I can't drift in every track as i need to practice first. That's what i advise you to do.
thanks for the tips really helpful I just need more practice
I think I have it but just to make sure if you could post a vid of your drivers hands so I can see how much input that would be great

Nice vid man! :D
Good video man !
Thanks for everything dude, helping alot :)
not sure if you'd reply but is the BMW m3 good for drifting?
That helps, I have just been going into turns flooring it.
hey DUBS i got the drifting down (kinda) but when i go online...i can't drift..even though its a drift race....i'm confused on how to drift online and what i have to do (tuning and game options wise)
Can someine please tell me what means when Im running and I get minus time. Or times gets sum ? Which one is bad minus or plus time??
The rx7 drifts itself almost! So easy to control & the old rx7 is just as fun
Are you using the handbrake to start the drift or just the wheel?
Great tutorial. Very helpful. Thanks. :)
I was on logitech gt and it felt so realistic and I was in a lambo murcilago it was confusing how to drift cause I was using a steering wheel that has force feedback
do you mind if I ask you for the tuning of tha fd?
i have been playing for over 2 weeks and its hard to drift, you must be special
Is this while using a controller or a steeringwheel?
Just as a note mate, you had set the Controller Sensitivity to 0, but I find for a beginner it his better to crank it up to 7, because your steering response becomes instant.
This might not be realistic, but in my opinion it can help you get that reaction to the car getting too much angle, or not enough. Note that it doesn't affect anyone trying with a wheel though.

Thanks for everything
thanks man for helping
what car is best for a beginner to start drift with? i have a BMW M3 2007 but is very hard for me, i always spin around on circuit

Thank you helped alot!
Cool man thanks, I'm still hitting the wall, but like you sad just practice, I'll get it eventually.
a thanks bro this was very helpful!
with joypad can drift whole track but go try make some drifts with steeringwheel with 900+angle you will see how hard rly is
I did get over 10k in the full lap drift yesterday. it was wicked cool and I did using your settings. you so rock and now i'm at 8400 in sector mode. the chase is on to get the dream drifter trophy. any hints on how to do it ?
Thanks a lot all i was doing wrong was the angle
thank you for this posting. I will practice just like you said. I will let you when I get past 10,000 points.
Thank you very much now im able to drift like a prro!!!! :)
Very usefull , Thanks !
Can you tell me the setup on your rx7?
Yo dubs im a new sub and just wondering what your accent is ?
Active steering off? Track edge low?
Nice drift at the first turn
What happened to his other drifting tutorial in this game??
Really miss this game:/
I love this new game
Is it ok if I use hard sport tyres? But it means that I must handbrake before the corner.
what if i want to use drift during an actual race
Thx helped a lot
Do you prefer low rpm turbos or high?
do you need to use hard tiers? BECAUSE in the the default drift. it was soft, and i always keep spining around. sometimes what happen is i cant drift the whole way
Wrong. It's because hard tires have less grip which would make the car slide easier
This id still the best racing game ever to br made. Period

the car I'm using the steering sucks so the back doesn't kick out like it should
thank you for your lesson:)
Can you drift with a steering wheel controller? I have a GT Driving Force Pro and it is really tough to drift with. I have semi perfected it but I never can hold drifts for very long
I apologize is this question was answered and I missed it, but are you using a steering wheel or a controller?
i find i beter whit the comfort tiers on the back and the sotf comfort on the front it healps you stear little beter
Speed Test?
How do you get that high sensitivity? I have it on 7 and the car barely does anything when i try to oversteer. I'm using the nissan gtr 07
Yeah lol i didn't know shit about drifting back then
i am waiting for that aswell
i have a question what is this speed test in gt life ?
how i becam it ?
Hey DUBS,why is my game missing the speed test on the home page?
Yap Wai Han it comes with the dlc
how did you get the speed test thing?I dont have that in mine.
love it.....
nice demonstration ittakes me ages to be able to drift at all. Itll be some help. where you from?
hey what is that "Speed Test" option below the Special Events option??? and how do you get it
What's the best arcade car for drifting??
