Rudy, maybe you should have gotten a black and yellow nailer? Now that gun looked pretty darn clean when you first disassembled it. That's a testament to your fastidiousness in keeping your equipment maintained. Obviously this is not the first time you've broken this gun down. Even though I don't have a hitachi nailer, I watched this whole video. Your technique is excellent. The use of the map is brilliant. I've always believed that I could remember where everything came from and where it should go back; but, I never have. Thanks again, Rudy. You da man! Big thumbs up.

Thanks Meat! I really appreciate it. That nailer wound up sitting for probably the last 4 years until my brother needed his shed redone... that's when this skipping problem showed up! I wish I would have thought to take some B-Roll of that. It would have been a good clip with me getting ready to throw the whole thing in the woods! I was so frustrated I didn't think of "Video"!... 😂

@@TheHomeImprovementChannel I did one time, while building the chicken coop, hammer throw my compressor down the hill for quitting on me at the end of the job; so, I understand that feeling. As always, thanks for the great content and keep it up!

Awesome! Yes I believe that's a common problem with those. I think the problem with this one was it sat for 4 years and the lube probably got sticky..

Great vid I'll have to refer back to after my roof is installed. Lots of potential mistakes could happen rebuilding without a manual or this video. Considering mine seems to work, it sure looks well used or even abused, Im hoping it's got one more roof left in it. I hear the hitachi was better than the metabo version is why I drove and bought a used hitachi.

That's a good question.... Is the Metabo as good? I can't answer that. I am glad to have one of the original ones. I got the parts from the 0-ring store... They were pretty reasonable... I want to say less than $20 with shipping.

Anyone know what the small adjustable set screw below the trigger plunger does? Nothing in the manual.

My brand new metabo nv45ab2 roof nailer is double and triple shooting nails in one spot. Ridiculous. Complete defective. Even the depth adjustment doesn’t seem to be doing anything. Even misfires a lot too. Couldn’t even do any work with it , tried adjusting on test wood. Used for a minor one shingle repair and triple fired all over. Nails flipping upside down and popping out. Even have metabo nails. Beyond words and upset. I bought this gun because of the ratings but now seeing a lot of same complaints. I guess the good ratings are manufactured. It’s costs a lot of money and then the time to buy and then return is a lot more wasted. I’m very disappointed in the metabo. Thank you for the good video though. My situation isn’t a repair but need replacement. Wish I could easily adjust to save the time of replacing it. Great video.

HI! Wow.... that's not good. I've wondered if the "Metabo" is really the same as the "Hitachi" nailer. Maybe you just got a bad one and an exchange will solve the whole problem. Or has the quality suffered since switching brand names... I can't answer that. If you bought it from a big box store/ Amazon, etc they usually have a pretty good return policy if you're within the time period.

My Hitachi NV65AH2 siding Nail gun, the driver does not go back after fire. I have to unplug the air hose for the driver to go back, and it is constantly stuck. Do you have any idea what is the problem and what would I do to fix it? Thanks

Have you tried to take off the head and see if the factory lubrication has broken down and became sticky? It might need to be cleaned up on the inside and relubed with some of that silicon grease... Unless your o-rings are old and they are not sealing well anymore.. I would try to clean it first.

HI! I actually am going to keep that one... I don't do roofing everyday, but when the necessity arises nothing else will do!... 😊
