I watched the Tacoma Dome get built when I was a kid in the early 1980s. It was the world's largest wooden domed arena for a long time, until some college in Michigan built one that is just slightly larger (although it does not hold as many people as the Tacoma Dome does). The dome is one of the most versatile arenas, in that 65% of the seating is moveable.
It is impressive to see the wooden rafters from the inside.
@@AmericanOutbackAmazing As far as large arenas go, the Tacoma Dome is one of the best venues for concerts, as the wooden domed structure makes for better acoustics. I remember reading an article in the Tacoma News Tribune back in 1987 about a concert Madonna did in the old Kingdome in Seattle that year, and the article was totally about how bad the acoustics were there, due to its being built of concrete. Of course, in comparison, the Kingdome was very cavernous, being built with major league sports in mind.
It was also built from the fallen timber around Mt St Helens.
I've lived up north of Seattle (and at times, west & south of Seattle) for my whole life. i've also been making the drive down to Portland, OR with my mom multiple times a year for my whole life to visit our family there. these views feel like such prominent memories from my life! i'm 18, so that part of I5 along Tacoma has been eternally under construction for me LOL

I truly admire your energy to go thousands of miles to show us the beauty of our country, we certainly appreciate your hard work to make that possible, your work is actually better than Google showing us pics of different places, But you are all LIVE! I agree with you, google maps street level doesn't show much in my opinion. I enjoy doing this and am glad that there are people that have fun watching these videos. It does take a lot of work but I wish I had started doing it 10 years ago! Thanks for the kind words, I do go slower than most, you will probably notice me getting passed a lot during my 2022 Fall Northern USA Trip. I am going to try and get more of rural Washington this year, so many areas up here that the big UA-cam channels never go to :)
