While Mitsuhide is my favorite SW character, I haven't liked the writing surrounding his big moment at Honnoji since after the first game. In SW2 and SW4, Mitsuhide loses his nerve right before the killing blow. Then there's the SW3 version, where Motochika actually has to talk Mitsuhide into doing it. And it only gets worse in Motochika's story, where Mitsuhide is constantly trying to backpedal, but only continues on because Motochika keeps pressuring him. See, the writers are obligated to give Nobunaga and Mitsuhide conflicting personalities that eventually lead to the betrayal. Most of the games, especially the ones where Nobunaga is presented as a bit nicer overall, fail to do this. SW1 did a decent job, though. For example, play that battle in Shingen's story where Nobunaga is holed up after Nagashino, and take note of how Mitsuhide reacts to Nobunaga's strategy. And don't even get me started on SW4, where Nobunaga has that bizarre 'I want people to betray me' attitude. And the people who do betray him do so in order to 'surpass' Nobunaga. I mean, what? Sorry this post got a little long, to end it on a cheery note, lol at Mitsuhide's pre-battle speech, where he shouts 'For Lord Nobunaga!' as he's... heading out to kill Lord Nobunaga.
Yeah I totally get it. I liked how SW2 handled it myself, but SW3 is my least favorite and SW4 I just can't care either way because Nobunaga is like the worst in SW4. It's the only time I just outright did not like Nobunaga whatsoever. SW1 had some great ways it handled story, still some of my favorite to this day.
Definitely not what Oda said irl, probably something more along the lines of “Oohh shit, you’re fucking sick, you stupid sick animal, they’re gonna kill you for this.. Fucking backstabbing bitch, I swear!!!”

1:07 Mitsuhide's POWERFUL quote!
This game wasn't meant to be played alone.
Our enemy... is in Honnōji!
Mitsuhide breaks his record again, since Koshosho has this stage and hisahide (I don't know if he counts).
Me and my brother played this multiplayer so that he would protect Motochika while I would go get Nobunaga.
Mitsuhide Akechi the traitor

2:06 for who?
Man SW2 is better than SW3 especially English voice acting I don't know why it's so bad in SW3
What~? Mitsuhide's campaign doesn't end at Honnoji? But that doesn't even make sense. >.
qwertyMrJINX I coukd see it ending at Yamazaki, but either way it goes by way too fast here.
It might be because this scenario is based on the ru.ors that he survived and became a monk named tenkai
