You don’t always get it right, sometimes you have to touch the floor to jump higher!
Nice shave Sean. The best thing about honing your own razors is being able to easily bring an edge up to your standards.
Yes! It’s also an opportunity to relax while honing. One of my favorite things when I have a tough day at work is pull out a stone and grind steel. Thank you very much my friend, happy Tuesday!
One of the interesting things I like about Clubman is the unique stinging sensation. I think it contains a solvent not found in most aftershaves.
Proraso is nice stuff.
Never used a frame back, keep working at it.
I wasn’t sure why clubman stings the way it does but you’re 100% on the mark! For some reason the sting feels different. Thank you Bill! Cheers
I've not found a frameback I've liked. So I'm not surprised ...Great experimental shave test !
They are definitely an interesting looking type of straight razor but when it comes to the shave if it wasn’t user error in the honing they might not be my cup of tea but I need to keep playing with them to be sure. Happy week Marti!
Good move, always have a backup. No reason to push thru a bad shave. You will get there on the frame-back, just need to find out what it likes. I went thru a period that I was addicted to Proraso and TOBS soaps. Now I can’t get over the chemical smell of both. It sucks for me because they are slick and easy lathers.
I really hope that’s the case Eric, like I’ve told you before usually when something like this happens I like taking the stance that I did something wrong along the process and it’s not the razors fault… this becomes an opportunity where I can learn. I know what you mean about the chemical smell, the white smells like synthetic green tea 😂 cheers my friend
Hi Sean. Yeah I mean if you are not happy with the edge it's not worth pushing it. Thanks for sharing. Have a good rest of your week
Thank you my friend! Yup, I have more razors that will give me what I want, it’s about being patient and rehone it later in the week until you get what you want. Cheers my friend
It is smart to not use the razor if it is not good enough. It can be a bit disappointing because how much work you have put into it. But it is still time spent learning that particular razor.
I completely agree with your comment my friend! This was my first time honing and shaving with a Frameback and also my first time honing with such hard steel like the Swedish steel is known for… now I learn and grow from this. Thank you my friend I hope you have a wonderful week.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🤗🤗 Enjoyed.
Thank you Leon!
