  • Most airgun hunters use pellets straight from the tin, but Terry explains to Wayne that if you want ultimate performance you need to spend a little time preparing your pellets.

This gentleman has had a life in airgunning. Joking apart and reading the comments, we should respect that.
I have heard of meticulous pellet preparation, though I thought it was more for field target people. What Terry has proposed to do here doesn't seem that much out of the way to me. It could be done on a wet, cold, miserable winter's evening when there's not much else doing.
It makes sense to me, and if someone like Terrry is saying it's a good idea, with his knowledge and experience, then they should be listened to.
I think every little bit you can do helps in the bigger picture, and if your accuracy and enthusiasm improve, then it can only be a good thing.
I've seen the pellet lubes, too, liked by many people. However, until watching this film, I've always gone for consistency, meaning, just using the pellets straight from the tin.
Individually, I think we should all do what we feel is right and worthwhile, and if we think something is worth doing, then we should do it. Some will agree, and some won't. I think it's great to put an idea/mindset out there. It's positive, and it can't do any harm.
    Thank you, Terry.

People do the same thing with 4x4s , spend a fortune on a trick 4x4 all bells and whistle traction control items and fit a shite set of tyres . Take care of slugs/pellets , take the time to inspect, measure and weigh them . We've got 12 ft/lbs non fac , take every advantage you can, if nothing else you owe it to your quarry .

Believe me, you don't need to wash your pellets. Even a slightly bent skirted pellet will blow out on the way threw the rifling. He can do what he wants with his pellets, that's his perogative, but don't tell me it needs to be done, because it doesn't.

Right, that's one reason why skirts are designed for, to expend to get a tight fit in barrel and rifling. With very low powered airguns like match pistols and rifles bend skirts can maybe cause less accuracy but there is not much power needed to expend the soft lead.
I've shot only slightly deformed pellets i picked apart using my HW97 and S410 and there was no difference in accuracy. With hard alloy pellets it can be an issue but that's crap anyway.
