I was expecting a bigger gain in fps from 12 to 16 CUs in the new iGPU... But, whats most important is the fact that the previous gen didnt lag that much behind, which makes the idea of waiting for these new chips to arrive on handheld devices not that much interesting.
There is really only 1 memory config, since he's on an Asus S16 (the only hx365 available when he made the video) or an S16/ProArt/Zephyrus (hx370). It's 7500Mhz LPDDR5X.

Yes it will be intresting. I expect it be a more power full GPU, but have driver issues holding it back... and also probably not as efficient as the 890m, but will have to wait for reviews...
@@Bois948nah I think this time Lunar lake can be better for Handhelds because Lunar Lake will use Little and Big cores, it will use less cores if I remember correctly it will be based on TSMC 3nm which is more efficient than 4nm that Zen 5 uses
@@dgillies5420if we look at the rumors 890M and Lunar Lake’s iGPU should be basically the same about the power but tdp of Lunar Lake expected to be like 27 watts which is lower than Ryzen AI 9 HX 370’s 54watts though it only uses 33 watts, I think intel this generation will bring some good stuff but I also think AMD will be stronger when it comes to CPU performance not the GPU even though I think amd will use more power
The memory bus is already saturated so the 33% extra CUs are starved for memory access! The improvement is less than 10%! Thats why Strix Halo will use a new 4-way interleaved 256-bus, compared to the present 2-way interleaved 128-bit bus ...
What laptops? It matters ... A LOT. Asus Zenbook S16 has a very poor cooling system and very low (35w) thermal limits! PX13/P16/Vivobook S14/ROG Zephyrus are all better choices ...
TLDR;
48.83 890m geomean
46.53 880m geomean
41.98 780m geomean
1.16 speedup 780m -> 890m
1.11 speedup 780m -> 880m
Most of the speedup is from RDNA3.5 !

Low 1% much better
For the handhelds probably it will have some changes for better eficiency at 30w
since all 3 are mostly bandwidth limited and you did not disclose the memory configuration for each of them, the results are meaningless ...

I wonder how good Lunar Lake's iGPU would be against the new Ryzen iGPU
But not for handheld PC, AMD is the best of handheld PC which AMD is great for playstation 5 and xbox series s/x

They will be lucky to catch the 780m. They are currently about 15% behind the 780m. They are always bringing up the rear of the igpu industry ...

Tăng 30% lên 16CU mà fps phò phạch thế, giá thì đắt
