  • One of my absolute favorites! Fun fact: my parents made me sign a contract when they bought me my N64 that said I would practice piano for 1 hour every day. I didn't hold up my end of the bargain because I was too busy spinning bowser around, and because I didn't understand contracts. Either way, here we are today!

    This music always brings tears to my eyes...
    My ex girlfriend played this music on the piano and I was sitting next to him listening to her playing…
    I could spend hours listening to it so much I found it beautiful…
    Some time she stopped and looked at me with a beautiful smile...
    But she had to go to Japan to continue her studies...
    She told me that she was finally going to live there since this is the better for her and realize her dreams...
    I will surely never see her again but this music always brings me back memories so good and sweet...

I just recently got my first keyboard and these are the first two songs I'm learning on it, thanks to you! Feels like no time has past since I first saw this video, yet its been over 8 years. Amazing work, and thank you for getting me into piano!

      @@ReadyClaireOne I'm currently teaching myself, and it's going great! I learned to play Dire Dire Docks and another song called Wet Hands, which is a song from Minecraft which is another nostalgic game for me, and I have a whole list of songs I want to learn from so many different games, and I'm really excited to learn them all. Also, don't feel obligated, but if you want some calming video game songs to learn, Minecraft has one of the most calming OST's I've heard, I could listen to the whole soundtrack on repeat all day, and many others think so too. You might wanna look into learning a few! Anyways, you're very talented, and it's cool to see you still uploading videos after so long! I hope you have a great rest of your week.

    Dire dire docks is my all time favorite song to play on the piano. I constantly find myself listening to many covers of it on UA-cam and yours is quite inspiring and exceptional.
    I recently bought a Yamaha YDP 162 (looks like you a have a top tier Yamaha) and this clip has really convinced to practice/record more (video game tunes, pop tunes, etc).
    Wonderful work. This vid is definitely a favorite. Have you ever considered To Zanakand from Final Fantasy X?

    • @ReadyClaireOne
      @ReadyClaireOne  10 років тому +3

      Thank you so much Carminooch07 ! What a lovely comment :) I watch a lot of these covers as well, and I know there's a lot of great ones out there so I'm thrilled you like mine. You're right - it's a Clavinova CLP 430. I'm not super familiar with Final Fantasy music but I'll check it out - I do a lot of Zelda and Mario covers mostly, but always looking for new stuff. Keep practicing and recording!

    • @carmenditurno1026
      @carmenditurno1026 10 років тому

      Thanks. If I may ask, what do you use for your recordings? (Cables, connections, software, laptop, camcorder). It seems there are multiple methods but I'm not sure what's best for me to get the best digital audio sound (rather than the MIDI) my piano has 1/4"headphone jack ports.

    • @ReadyClaireOne
      @ReadyClaireOne  10 років тому +1

      My camera is a Canon Rebel T3i which records in HD. I wouldn't necessarily say I have any skill recording sound and I am not actually thrilled with the quality of these videos - I've tried lots of things. I use Garageband, and I'm recording audio not midi (at least for this video). And for this particular one, I am plugging in a thumb drive/usb directly into my Yamaha and recording audio that way and transferring it to my Mac - but that's not a function that a lot of pianos have. What I am SUPPOSED to do, so I hear, is use the Line Out port and run it through an interface, but I've never been able to successfully record that way unfortunately. I think you can run a cable from your headphone jack to an interface and then from the interface to the computer? Maybe someone reading this comment can help you further as I am not an expert by any means, grew up playing a Yamaha grand and this is only my second digital :)

    • @ReadyClaireOne
      @ReadyClaireOne  10 років тому

      Carmen DiTurno forgot to add, I sync the audio and video and edit with iMovie

    • @bassmanpatsfan18
      @bassmanpatsfan18 10 років тому +2

      PrettyPrettyPianist Carmen DiTurno Recording engineer here! Well, not really. I'm a musician and I dabble in some home recording and have helped Claire record audio on several of these videos.
      Currently, the USB method of recording her CLP 430 has sounded best. Before, we recorded audio directly out of the piano through the 3.5mm headphone jack and into an M-Audio MobilePre computer interface. That then connected to Garage Band. I now have a Motu Ultralite mk3 interface, which should sound a lot better. We hope to try to use that into Logic or Garage Band to record some future videos.
      If your piano has a Line Out, that's always preferable over headphone jacks since headphone jacks are padded for listening. If not, you can run a 3.5mm cable from the headphone jack to a 1/4" TRS input on the interface of your choice. Hope that helps!

    Awesome job. Well done on this performance. I just sat and listened, trying to fight back tears as nostalgia washed over me. People who aren't gamers don't understand how games are kind of a bookmark to our lives. Those systems and beloved games are firmly attached to a time and place. For me, the N64 was my childhood. And it was a happy childhood. Especially now when the last few years have been pretty rough, it is WONDERFUL to go back and think of a simpler, happier time. I thank you so much for that.😁😀 The N64 controller was a wonderful touch. Since I found this video I have been all over your channel listening to your music. You really have a great talent. The Ocarina of Time medley was another one that got me a little teary eyed. For me that is the greatest game ever, and the outstanding music was a big part of the magic. Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, and Goldeneye are pretty much my top 3 N64 games. I have tried to get into games as an adult, but it is just not the same. Of course a lot of it is that I don't have nearly as much free time and I see I am starting to ramble on I will stop now.....😂😂🤣 Thanks again for the great music ReadyClaireOne !!!!!!!

      I love this - totally agree on the top 3 games! There was something so magical about being a kid and being able to FULLY immerse yourself in these worlds. You seriously made that File Select music sound so similar to the soothing piano tracks from Tiger Woods 13, that's what it reminded me of :) GG though!

    I think I shed a tear... although I want born at the time, (nowhere near) but this game brought me and so many people together. I had a friend named Daniel, and we would play this game everyday, seeing who could beat it faster. He had the upper hand, he had learned how to backwards-long-jump. He would always win, but we always have so much fun playing. He committed suicide a few months ago, and hearing this made me think of him and all the fun times we had together. Thank you for bringing me such memories, and thank the whole community for keeping my friend alive in spirit.
