- This is a cab view from Shiojiri Station to Matsumoto Station. This video is a continuation of the one I uploaded previously • 中央西線前面展望 木曽福島→宮ノ越・日出塩→... , and the train I'm riding is the same.
Legally, this section is the Shinonoi Line. However, in reality, the section from Shiojiri Station to Matsumoto Station is more of an extension of the Chuo East Line and Chuo West Line, and trains coming from the east side of Tokyo and the west side of Nagoya run to Matsumoto via Shiojiri. Some trains run further from Matsumoto.
In the section filmed in this video, the train passes through a long valley and runs through the plains that stretch between Matsumoto City, which is surrounded by mountains. The tracks are laid in a straight line. Just before Matsumoto Station, the final stop, there is a freight train terminal (Minami Matsumoto Station), where tank cars and other vehicles are always stationed.

Houses, apartments, businesses (especially the one with a roof full of solar panels!), high rises, green belts between streets and the tracks, open fields and distant mountains! Throw in "cotton ball" clouds in a blue sky, and what more could you do to make a beautiful ride? Thank you for the time and effort you put in to bring these videos to us!

Quite the contrast between the mountain line,and the valley type straight-aways! Beautiful colors,and well laid out rail corridors! Japanese Civil engineering is really remarkable,as there are so many contrasts,in sometimes short mileage/kilometers! Thank you! Thank you 😇 😊!
You're welcome. I was worried that it would be boring to watch because the tracks are straight, but I'm glad I uploaded it. Next I'm going to the northern part of the local line called the Iida Line.

I guess they think that there is no problem in practical terms, but that is different from the proper discipline that is inherent in railways.
