- This video has been collecting dust on my HDD for a very long time. I think, I recorded this playthrough around the time this hack was released (Q2 2019) but never uploaded it. Can't say why. Maybe because it is not a very good or particularly interesting hack. It has harder platforming compared to original game, less forgiving enemy placement but nothing that really stands out, though. Or maybe it is just that the palette used is so atrocious that I wanted to forget ever playing it until I saw this video file few days ago. Yuck.

It makes me wonder, why it's called "Castlevania Empathy"?
Anyways, final boss fight was really intense. Nice to see that you managed to beat Dracula.
The guy who made this hack just didn't know what to name it so he just chose some random word, I guess.

Not gonna apologize for the colors of 1.1, they do exactly what they need to do: make the castle feel disgusting and wrong, just like the level layouts - 1.0 didn't quite hit it for me after a few runs, so the pallette got changed along with some suggested fixes.
Nice run btw, and yes, it was never meant to be anything new or special: just another level hack, albeit with a more revolting castle. Believe it or not, the name kind of came from the idea of seeing the castle as the vampire hunter saw it: a repulsive dungeon housing nothing but evil.
Did you find the secret stairs though, in both level 3 and Dracula's throne room? They don't lead to anything special, but I ask because so far nobody's mentioned them - they're kind of bullshit, being invisible and all.
Can't say for sure. I played too many hacks and saw quite a few invisible stairs so it is really hard to tell if I encountered any in this one. Most likely I didn't find them here.

Hey Arek, is there any reason to why you and Shadowserg havent done a God Of War all bosses or something related to it? Especially the ps2 titles. I mean, there is DMC, God Hand, Curse Of Darkness/Lament of innocence boss rush's, but none of gow?
Can't answer for Shadowserg: maybe he will eventually make some boss runs. Personally, I never really liked GoW. Played first game when GoW2 was released, made a note to maybe try 2 but ended up missing series entirely.
@@ArekTheDragonHighly recommend playing them again, especially on higher difficulties. The combat alone is enough reason for that, with the blades of caos aerial combos being very satisfying to pull out. Btw thanks for the answer, Arek! Been following both of you since 2015!
