This was my first ever Sonic game. I was a kid and my first reaction was "I don't like it, this isn't Mario". Then I reached the first boss and from then I was hooked. "You can bounce on a dinosaur like a trampoline!"
Yeah, this game had some really good bosses in it. You can tell dimps put their best into this one so its a shame they got restricted to dumbed down handheld ports afterwards.

Beautiful Sprite Work in the Advance Trilogy and Battle, they pratically invented the Boost formula, the made Amy FINALLY playable in 2D games, had interesting tag team mechanics in Advance 3, created the midair trick action, Sonic Colors DS had more characters, Sonic Battle having one of the best stories in a Sonic game. Yeah Dimps killed in back then when they had more control

I loved how this game had you deliver a finishing blow to a boss instead of the boss fight just ending when its health hit zero, and if you failed to do so, it would get back up and regain some of its health.
When I first played this game, I got to the final boss. My 3DS had broken shoulder buttons, so I couldn't switch to Blaze. I beat the final boss. With only Sonic's Shield.
But this is the worst Sonic game i ever played. I hate this game because i'm lost in this game. I'm never playing Sonic Rush Adventure nor Sonic Rush again.

I really like the fact that bosses take so many hits in this game. Any other sonic game would just make each cycle count for one hit, and have the boss go down in like 4. But the way this game does bosses makes them feel way more eventful. Kinda like Beat Em Up bosses.
I just remembered this game randomly and searched it up. I used to play this when i was a kid over a decade ago. Seeing some of these bosses surprised me as i remembered them so quickly. I remember that whale boss so well i have always wondered where i knew it from but it was from here!
Man, this game was a blast. Arguably my favourite 2D title in the series, and for a damn good reason. The great soundtrack, some outstanding new characters (Whisker just made me chuckle nearly every time he was on screen, but Marine & Johnny weren't too bad as well), an actually decent and challenging level design (except Sky Babylon, that zone was a nightmare) and this game showed what a 2D Sonic game on the DS can do. Now all we need is the return of Marine and/or Whisker in a future Sonic game

Ahh, this game brings back memories... It may not have been a groundbreaking fan-favorite, but I remember having a lot of fun with this game. I wish they’d bring characters like Marine and Johnny back into the limelight. (I love how Captain Whisker straight up yeets Johnny for an attack).
That pirate duo is totally a reference to Mario and Luigi. Never noticed as a kid. Also the whale boss fight had a bit of platforming which was identical to the final part of bowsers castle (dodging the fireballs by crouching in the holes in the floor).
I know the "Grind for materials" part can be anoying, but honestly, I like the levels so much that I didn't even bether with that, and also, this game have a sense of adventure that I love a lot

The only boss here that actually makes sense being called Ghost-anything is the pirate one. It's the boss of the *Haunted Ship* stage and is actually modeled after a skeleton pirate. All the others barely even look ghost-like, if at all.
A moment of silence for all the kids that died to the final Big Swell attack and were to young to problem solve so just tried the same tactics over and over until they rage quit and never finished the game. It’s me. I’m kids.

I think this is way better than sonic rush 1. The bosses are more unique (not saying the bosses in the 1st one wasnt unique), the levels aren't just bottomless pits, the music is way better (not saying the music wasn't good in the 1st game), and I just think the story is better (all tho sonic rush 1 had a good story). I really miss the Sonic Rush games and Mario and Luigi RPG games.
I used to have this game!! It was a blast!
00:00 wait so is the intro suppose to lag on the original ds lite or not? i know this might be played via an emulator (desmume probably) but every time I played this game on the ds lite, hell even on the 3ds it always lagged a bit causing the music to desync a bit and resulting in the music ending before the intro has stopped playing?
Some of these bosses look actually threatening when you think about it.
