Whereas, Belal with confidence in his striking was able to close the gap and swoop and dump Edwards.

Leon has a great team who believes in him. He has the physique and the combat skill to preform. The only thing Leon lacks is heart. Crazy Tony used Goggins to help him with endurance but he teaches heart which Tony already has. Goggins help this man find his heart cause he has none

Dana did not want Belal to be the champion. One of the big reasons being he's from P@lestine. Posting Belal's octagon interview so late, giving him a title shot so late, it's apparent that UFC did not want Belal as champion. UFC wanted Leon to win in his hometown as UK is very important for UFC from business perspective.
