Thanks for this. I used the snake from harbour freight and boiling water to de-ice the line and it was clear. The entire fix took about 30 min which includes boiling the water!!
Thanks. Left the frig. unplugged about 6 hrs and the hose finally thawed. I hesitated to use a coat hanger because I didn't want to risk cutting the rubber hose. Watched your video, went to Harbor Freight and bought the auger and assured the drain was completely clear before reassembling everything. Now I feel confident there is no blockage in the drain hose.
I uncoiled a metal wire clothes hanger to snake the drain out and it worked just as good. I also boiled water and poured it right in as well. It helped in the melting process. You may have to work the wired hanger to chip away debris as well as the ice that’s stuck in the drain. It’s a satisfying feeling when you can hear the water flowing down onto the drip pan below the base of the fridge. Good luck...
You neglected to mention to NEVER push a metal object into the compressor area without first disconnecting the power source Otherwise a very helpful video.
I also hung a 12 gauge bare copper wire into the drain hole looped around the heater element. Keeping the drain from icing. About 4 inches into the drain.
Defrost system is failing the evaporator should defrost way before icing up the bi-metal thermostat an timer an heater tube make up defroster on older fridges no control board.. 0deg freezer 42deg fridge temps or they ice up if run too cold an condenser coils must be very clean check cooling fan compressor rear
Could still be frozen if you did it immediately or shortly after taking it apart. For mine to thaw out it has to sit overnight. I have 2 refrigerators so it is not a problem but I could be an issue is you just have a single. You can speed up the thaw by running a fan and pointing it into the thawing fridge.

Great video thanks for the advice. I use beach in all condensate lines and works great as preventative maintenance.
Thanks for sharing
Great! Just what I needed!

Great point!

I used a plastic hair clog stick.
I tried this but unfortunately my drain hole curves at the top so this probe didn't fit straight down and I made sure it was not clogged
What do you do if the snake won’t pass through? We tried putting hot water down there and it didn’t work.

Hey I read the description on your diy kitchen video, did you get another job since you said you were unemployed?
I'm just hoping you got a new job :)
I did, just after that video, thanks so much for asking :)
Sorry for the long delay on the response, I am a Security Analyst now (anti hacker) thanks for asking :)

I can't find my drain hole😭help
If the water in it is frozen it will feel like it is not there.
