Very nice NAvion video...A knowlegable pilot for a change. I'm surprised you still have the variable pitch prop, mine is converted to constant speed. 45TJ gets about 10-11 gal at 120 kts, E-225-4, but has Bendix fuel injection. There is nothing that flys like a NAvion ! I'm looking forward to the second half of the video, Thank you so much ! Ron
Wow! My Dad took his lessons and his solo flight out of Ranger back in 1961-1962...mainly in a Cub that he would bounce back and forth between Ranger and Borger.
I went to ranger college for a couple years in 89-90. My dorm was just across a field from the airfield. I would walk over and look things over and dream of becoming a pilot one day. Well i did and own a 58 Tripacer. I really need to come visit the airfield again. Nice vid. guys
Second airplane I got a ride in was in a Navion. Old WW2 Navy pilot, my little brother's friend's dad, Mr Hanaway. He also took me up for my first airplane ride when he had a TriPacer.
Gezz I swere on my farthers grave ,Ive been looking for a guy that his dad had 1 last nite his Son TX me! 1ST Thing this morning I texted him to find out IF his Dad still has the Navion! Haven't heard back yet .. vultures didn't show on ADSB that ruin your day. HIT a Raven in the Aztrk once . That Navion is a SWEET looking Bird!! Thanks for the video!!
Nice Erik, I would of loved seeing some of that airfield and more about its history. I've always loved the Navion's. Grew up on an airfield with my dad as a piper dealer and got many hours with my Dad in Tri-Pacers. Michigan Kellogg airfield. They now build Waco's there.
I love my '48 Navion! I've seen that airplane out of Arlington rotting on the ramp, and the other one parked and not flown for about 14 years out of Paine. Great Video!!

Nice video. As a former pilot/owner of a Nation your flight brings back wonderful memories. Thank you
Nice 👍
I’m in the process of restoring a ‘68 Mooney M20C, retrofitting a Lycoming IO-360 A1A engine in it. 😎

If you’ll pardon me Keith, you might want another bb or two in your hydraulic restrictor. Those gear come down hard on their stops. Gorgeous aircraft!
