Y’know, I used to think the movement of weird-yet-brilliant filmmaking in things like BoJack Horseman and Doom Patrol was a recent development. Yet here a magic woman is singing about a made-up word after winning a horse race with a Merry-Go-Round horse in an animated dimension. And this is one of the greatest films of all time.
I've loved Julie Andrews since I was five. Watching this video after watching segments from Mary Poppins Returns over and over and downloading the music... This song is what I love to think about when I'm thinking about writing, because I used this word to write a short story for a college course. Never forgot how to spell this word!!! It's supercalifragilisticexpialidocious- spelled like it sounds!
I heard my mom singing this song long ago when I was still a kid, it played on a CD player the first I hear it and then I've the whole movie vhf ie for myself. This is a catchy song by Disney!
Mary Poppins was one of my favorite movies as a kid. Like, if I had to make a Top 10 favorite movies list in elementary or middle school, I would have put it on the list. As a kid, I always wanted to say Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, but I could never get past "Super" without stuttering and getting stuck. Back on New Year's Eve 2009, I watched it in the basement while my Mom got ready for her annual NYE party, and I thought "I want to try it again." I listened to the word, and broke it up by syllable. Sup-er-cali-frag-ilistic-expi-ali-do-cious. I couldn't believe it. I then slowly put a couple syllables together. Then more. Finally, I said the word in one piece! I ran up the stairs: "MOM! MOM! I SAID IT! Super- Super... Just a minute." I ran back downstairs, listened to it again, practiced, and then I ran back up to my Mom and said with pride: "SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALDOCIOUS!" Since I had wanted to say that for many YEARS, she was very proud of me. When all the guests came, I said the word for each and every one. As of exactly one week (Merry Christmas Eve 2023!), I have been able to say the long word for 14 years! :)

Julie Andrews was the perfect choice for Mary Poppins. Mr. Walt Disney thought so too because he waited for her to have her baby to play the part.
He even offered to delay filming if she got the movie version of My Fair Lady.
Why do i like this so much
No other could have been more than perfect & ever will be other than Julie!
200th liker!
Mrs Trevors thought not. The author of Mary Poppins hated Walt Disney's version of Mary Poppins.

Um-dittle-ittl-um-dittle-I
Um-dittle-ittl-um-dittle-I
Um-dittle-ittl-um-dittle-I
Um-dittle-ittl-um-dittle-I
He traveled all around the world and everywhere he went
He'd use his word and all would say there goes a clever gent
When dukes and Maharajahs pass the time of day with me
I say my special word and then they ask me out to tea
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Even though the sound of it
Is something quite atrocious
If you say it loud enough
You'll always sound precocious
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Um-dittle-ittl-um-dittle-I
Um-dittle-ittl-um-dittle-I
So when the cat has got your tongue
There's no need for dismay
Just summon up this word
And then you've got a lot to say
But better use it carefully
Or it can change your life
For example
Yes?
One night I said it to me girl and now me girls my wife
Oh! And a lovely thing she is too. he he he
She's Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Copy/pasted
You are smart!
So it's still cool that someone actually took there time writing it down so I'd like to see you do it "Lucinda Rollins"!
@@ashleycoupland9329 I like to sing it while I am watching so I just copy pasted it (I didn't see anyone else wrote the lyrics in the comments so I thought other people like to sing it just like me), I didn't think that some people would be mad about it :D

2020? Classic never dies...
Hi
No I’m in 3020
2021!
And merry Poppins by Julie Andrews never kills.
162728262110292920 😏
Y’know, I used to think the movement of weird-yet-brilliant filmmaking in things like BoJack Horseman and Doom Patrol was a recent development.
Yet here a magic woman is singing about a made-up word after winning a horse race with a Merry-Go-Round horse in an animated dimension. And this is one of the greatest films of all time.
I remember they played this at my elementary school and watching this now brings so much memories
i remember learning the word by heart when i was 9 or 10 and was soo proud of myself. i'm 19 now, and is still as proud as ever.
This song has been stuck in my head for 30 years!
Who's listening to this in 2019? This is one of those happy feeling songs. I needed this! Now i feel supercalifragilisticexpialidocious😂😂😂😂
me lmao

How to describe 2020: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
I think "dociousaliexpiisticfragilcalirepus" would be a better way to describe it.
But better use it carefully or it can change your life!
That implies it's good
I don’t get it
nah 2020 was a living hell
Never gets old☺️☺️
True
Correct.
I swear this is the only word I can think of that you can't say with a straight face.
I said it with a strait face
Ryan Prusinski to quote Missourians everywhere; "Show Me."
It makes me smile too much
What about bubbles?
Say "shenanigans"
I love this song
This song always puts one in a better mood😊🎉🙌🏽🌻🙌🏿👯♂️🔆
The word literally means (by taking it as a compound noun), apologizing for being educated by fragile beauty.
It means the Sherman Bros were AWESOME song writers
Pbkp vc
no it doesn't, it means fantastic

I love this song! Mary poppins in one of my favourite movies
Dad : Hey, we adopted you a little brother!
Me: Awwe what’s his name?
Dad:
I've loved Julie Andrews since I was five. Watching this video after watching segments from Mary Poppins Returns over and over and downloading the music... This song is what I love to think about when I'm thinking about writing, because I used this word to write a short story for a college course. Never forgot how to spell this word!!! It's supercalifragilisticexpialidocious- spelled like it sounds!
I heard my mom singing this song long ago when I was still a kid, it played on a CD player the first I hear it and then I've the whole movie vhf ie for myself. This is a catchy song by Disney!
"im Mary poppin's y'all!"
Yondu said that not starlord
@@firebalm2936 Ha I get it!
"You look like Mary Poppins!"
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Star Lord lol
Que maravilla de película...extraordinaria escena musical
Here's to the old Disney!
Nowadays it’s run by idiots
Mary Poppins was one of my favorite movies as a kid. Like, if I had to make a Top 10 favorite movies list in elementary or middle school, I would have put it on the list.
As a kid, I always wanted to say Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, but I could never get past "Super" without stuttering and getting stuck.
Back on New Year's Eve 2009, I watched it in the basement while my Mom got ready for her annual NYE party, and I thought "I want to try it again."
I listened to the word, and broke it up by syllable. Sup-er-cali-frag-ilistic-expi-ali-do-cious.
I couldn't believe it. I then slowly put a couple syllables together. Then more. Finally, I said the word in one piece!
I ran up the stairs: "MOM! MOM! I SAID IT! Super- Super... Just a minute."
I ran back downstairs, listened to it again, practiced, and then I ran back up to my Mom and said with pride:
"SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALDOCIOUS!" Since I had wanted to say that for many YEARS, she was very proud of me.
When all the guests came, I said the word for each and every one.
As of exactly one week (Merry Christmas Eve 2023!), I have been able to say the long word for 14 years! :)
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and Raxacoricofallapatorius

Walt Disney made his perfect pick for Julie Andrews to play MP! No other could have been or will there ever be as perfect as Julie
Makes me extremely nostalgic. I miss my school days and all those singing classes!
Love this movie. In this scene I like how the fox is sitting with the kids eating his candy apple!

I've NEVER seen it. Was it good?
I think Mary Poppins was one of the best films ever!
As a shareholder of Disney, I agree. Mary Poppins is the movie for kids to grow up with. This movie is a masterpiece. Great cast makes this movie 100x better.
One of my most favorite Disney songs. No matter how many times I hear it, I always feel the urge to get up and dance!
POV: u searched for this😏
I actually didn’t
You have to love this song. I sure do, after all these years.
The best part is 1:51 & Julie Andrews seems like she nails it on *one* take.

I first watched this film on my parents desktop because we didn’t have a dvd player back in 2000. The dvd of Mary Poppins came with 2 discs. Im pretty sure after this song was the end of the first disc so this song always takes me back that old desktop and the advent of internet culture
I MISS MARY POPPINS!!!!!
Me too.
*_no more._*
It's supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Even though the sound of it is something quite atrocious
If you say it loud enough, you'll always sound precocious
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Um diddle diddle, diddle um, diddle ay x4
Because I was afraid to speak
When I was just a lad
Me father gave me nose a tweak
And told me I was bad
But then one day I learned a word
That saved me achin' nose
The biggest word you ever heard
And this is how it goes, oh
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Even though the sound of it is something quite atrocious
If you say it loud enough, you'll always sound precocious
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Um diddle diddle, diddle um, diddle ay x4
He traveled all around the world
And everywhere he went
He'd use his word and all would say
There goes a clever gent
When Dukes and Maharajahs
Pass the time of day with me
I say me special word
And then they ask me out to tea
Oh! Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Even though the sound of it is something quite atrocious
If you say it loud enough, you'll always sound precocious
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Um diddle diddle, diddle um, diddle ay x2 ?
Now, you can say it backwards, which is docious-ali-expi-listic-fragi-cali-rupus
But that's going a bit too far, don't you think?
So when the cat has got your tongue
There's no need for dismay
Just summon up this word
And then you've got a lot to say
But better use it carefully
Or it could change your life
For example? ?Yes?? One night I said it to me girl
And now me girl's my wife
Oh, and a lovely thing she's too
She's, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Nice
My whole family is in love with this song and Mary Poppins
Terri-freaking-fic! I'm still astounded :D
Love it, besides Mary Poppins being such a classic, because language is such a great tool to play with.
And reminds me of a novel by Micheal Ende (German) "der satanarchäolügenialchohöllische Wunschpunsch" (would translate to "the satanarcheoliegenialcoholic whisch-punch") quite goes in the same direction.
This song I'd practically perfect in every way.
i like this song so much
Wonderful ❤
"...Now me girl's me wife..."

him: "OH and a lovely thing she is too"
