Your alien and predator collection is really something to be in awe over. Your dog alien piece was my favorite. Really thinking i like this one more. Both are still phenomenal
I love Aliens. It's not a horror movie; it's more action than anything. But the plot is so good and well-putting together. Usually, sequels are just excuses to show more of the same, but not in aliens.
Prime 1/Cool Props Dog Alien is still king! That's just my honest opinion.

Such an amazing piece. Wish I loved Alien 3 as much as Alien or Aliens!
Out of the three Aliens you showed at the end:
1. CoolProps/Prime 1 Dog Alien
2. Prime 1 Scorpion Alien
3. XM Aliens
The XM does have the best action pose, but the paint is lacking. The gold teeth, horrid. The Scorpion’s shoulders are too big, but love the diorama. The Dog has a great pose, cool base...and where it shines is in the paint, it’s absolutely the best of any mass produced Alien statue. Dog is also the only one of the three from an actual movie. The Scorpion is comic book based and the XM is a Narin interpretation. The low number (200) does potentially makes the XM the one that wins in the future...it will definitely be the much rarer piece to own. I had a hard choice to make...could only buy one due to lack of space, so went for the Dog Alien. I’m very happy with that choice as my goal is to own the 1/3 Alien Movie Trinity. Aside from the Dog, I also own the 1/3 CoolProps Giger maquette (as I wanted the museum version). Now I only need a 1/3 Warrior (from the movie Aliens). I’m going to have to choose between the upcoming CoolProps Warrior and Prime 1 Warrior. I’m leaning towards the Prime 1 version. If I had the room, I’d buy them all, lol. Good post. I think you 100% made the right choice with the Dog Alien. One of the best Alien pieces period. I love the glossy finish to the paint. And as you said, it's an actual movie property which does hold a little weight for me. But congrats on the piece!
Man to say this piece is a monster, is a understatement. Damn this thing is just fuck'n insane.
I think its worth mentioning that this was sculpted traditionally, not digitally :)
Ahh..thanks for letting us know..i knew there was something about this piece..overall it lacked those clean lines..but knowing it was hand sculpted to me at least makes more unique and maybe more valuable?

I wouldn’t say more valuable but hand sculpting something like this is much more difficult that digital.
I ❤️ the presence of it and sheer scale. Looks menacing and the fact it was hand sculpted takes it up another level.
Also, the XM Predator was hand sculpted by the same artist as well :)
The base looks like the alien ship from the first movie.
1. ALIEN...the only true horror-themed Alien movie. The original, baby!
2. Aliens...the most action-packed. The Queen is awesome. Colonial Marines are fun.
3. Prometheus...the best cinematography. The Engineers are a welcomed addition too.
3. Alien 3...the most vicious Xenomorph, the lighting quick bipedal Dog Alien.
4. AVP... Yautjas throwing down with Xenomorphs, nuff said.
5. Alien Resurrection...the Newborn, creepy as hell.
6. Alien Covenant...Walter/David more interesting than the Alien.
7. Aliens vs Predator: Requiem. Wolf vs Predalian. Too bad the movie is too dark, you can barely see anything. I’m sorry to say, while the Wolf is baddass, the movie itself was rather weak.
AVPR is so sad because had the best creatures but I agree worst of the movies.

All good pieces but my favorite is the alien dog!
Very dated comment - but I'm fairly sure the two "similar" tongue switchouts is so you can have both the "Resting" tongue on both heads.
That statue is sick as hell anyone that loves the alien films definitely need this it's a pretty decent size too definitely a showroom piece wish they would have put more in to give it a better rating

i would be embarrassed to say anything but Alien Covenant as my favorite. If u buy that I'll through the Nostromo in free. I love the first one and the second one , but there is no second wo first.

Think many of the points you make are valid but when i first saw this piece was blown away. My initial reaction was WOW!
That still has not changed, i look at your other alien pieces and although fantastic this on side by side blows them away.
Maybe as you say when you get in close it looses some of that appeal.
But as a big alien fan if i had to pick just 1 alien piece my head might say dog but my heart would scream this one.
Its also the one i would choose if i could only choose one.

I realized the design of these xenomorphs are from the AvP requiem and AvP alien warrior design.
This is badass. Personally, I have no complaints. I love it.

XM Rarely misses and I don't think they did with this one although I'm not a fan of the base or pose.

Awesome predators and it looks like the Prometheus space ship to me ! But I doubt that I will ever see one in New Zealand with only 200 did you say being made ! That's the way to make the quick money off them XM
Isn't the alien itself around the same size as those P1 statues (1/4) ? A 1/3 it is supposed to be much bigger...
The dog is 1/3. The scorpion is 1/4 but huge base.
I Love Aliens. The Whole Nightmare Aspect of this creature is so palpable. I used to have dreams of being chased by aliens down long corridors and subway tunnels and never being able to outrun them.
Mine and my wifes favorite statues. She loves Aliens and Predators... she said she would buy all of yours....lol i told her that's probably around 10k .. I like the movie Prometheus the most.
That is BIG, just like she said. I think that considering cost is somewhere in the middle. You have customs with much lower ES, better quality and much cheaper. Still an amazing piece to own. Congrats and great review.
Tamiya makes assorted color clears, and I think they used their gold/yellow clear on this, I would imagine it's pretty difficult for most of these guys to paint an alien piece different than what's already been done before, so I think that's what they were going for. I like the derelict base, that's pretty clever, Personally I'm not much of a fan of anything that deviates from the original designs, like the sideshow mythos line. The cat looks like a Hallmark ornament. They can never get Jonsey right. 3.5
Man, you got the Jonsey cat comment right on the money...it looks so cheap, cartoon-like. My favorite part of the statue is the base, very Gigeresque.

Unfortunately don’t have that one. Was never a huge fan of the pose.
Favorite Alien movie is Aliens. However, my favorite Xeno is the Dog Alien. Anytime a piece comes out with the Dog Alien, I have to get it. The recent Dog Alien Maquette is still my all-time favorite Alien piece.
Aliens by far..I see everybody saying out great this piece is but the only thing i see is the action pose and how big it is..The paint is lacking and those teeth are ridiculous.. Sorry people but prime one blows this away, there is reason why the edition size was that low too.
Rewatch alien the iconic scene where ripley is face to face with the alien and she looks away with the inner mouth just inches from her face if you notice the alien's teeth are a shinny silvery metallic color
It's not bad, but I like my Prime 1 Scorpion Alien a lot better. Prime 1 has the Aliens down pat compared to XM so far. 👍 It's a 3 out of 5 from me personally.

Alien dog is much better. However it's my least favorite character but best statue.

Really nice piece the concept is great. Not as much of a fan on sculpt and paint. Thanks for posting all these videos. After watching them all I’m going with the P1 Dog for myself since I can’t get them all.
At first I thought the thing that you thought you'd never do was to show your junk, but after watching it through, I think it was when you used the instructions.
Lol u said they are mindless creature well clearly there are not, they are tactical they cut the power before they did that attack, I love this statue but hate that he standing on his alien brother head wit the only thing that puts me off so I waited and pulled the trigger on the xm alien hive black variant statue

such a beautiful piece but that neck seam is hideous. I can live with the tail one, at least it's recessed a bit. But man, that neck...
This piece and the alien dog imo are the best ones. Conceptually, XM did a great job minus those paint decisions like you mentioned. As far as movies, yup gotta go with Aliens
I own and love the Dog Alien Marquette, but this XM Studio Extreme scale version is FIERCE!

Alien statues aren't really "my thing", I don't know much about the options out there, I like the movies though...but Damn! This statue has got presence! It's scale is great, and the pose is dynamic. I quite like the base too. It's a shame the alien is standing on the other's head cause it would have been a nice option to have that head as a switch out too and allow more display options. That's a nitpick though, cool statue!
I'd give it a 4 out of 5, for sure.
On the value, it's a shame it's so expensive compared to other options, but that edition size will likely make it worth it. I could definitely see this one being sought after.
I would have to agree, overall Wrail. I did see another video of an unboxing of an Alien piece and within 10 mins he was spraying a can of gloss paint on it which really made it pop. I'll dig it up and send it to you via fb.. I love anything Alien! The scale and presence of this is awesome!
I should be getting mine soon enough. I don't see anything I don't like so it's all good. I have Scorpion coming on Monday I think so will have all 3 lined up just like you. I have XM Pred and P1 Jungle is on order and honestly i'll be happy with those for the Alien Pred universe. Great review as always.

So yeah got mine and of course it's defective. The dome on the base Alien wasn't cured properly when they put the lid on and the wax paper is etched into the clear. Yayyyy.
This is a fuckin fantastic statue I love the detail very massive piece. I like big pieces hard to chose which on is the best.
Aliens 2 hands down favorite Paxton was great in the movie sorry he passed

that is easy Aliens is the best, but Alien is the scariest. Well i agreed with you for about 2 mins. Aliens are not mindless. that is one of the points, is that they are smart. they hunt in stealth, and outwit the humans. I totally agree about the teeth. horrible idea. i agree with you, he is a rail.

Did you see the prototype and final piece in person!..I say this because I did and it's pretty close except to the random gold flakes and less gloss
@@alberto-gj5oi No, only the movies and pictures- and it looks really bad there. Almost No turquoise and deep green shades. The base is just a joke-sloppy gold dots everywhere. I didn't expected to look like the prototype-but this is not even close.
All I'm saying that this is an elite, very expensive statue, only 200 pieces, so they could do better job. This is Prime 1 level price-and should look like their statues, Look at P1 dog alien. XM is far, far away from that.
Great review, by the way. I've both the Cinemaquette Alien and Predator. I was looking to replace my Cinemaquette Alien with the XM I have on pre order with a deposit payment. In your honest opinion , is the XM worthy of the swap?

Pretty cool statue! Not a fan of the gold teeth either. Favorite Alien movie is Aliens as well. Hey, I bought Sideshow's Alien Mythos and wondering if you picked up that piece as well. I actually really like it, it's way different than the others. It also comes with the cat and it looks way better than the one on your statue. Not really necessary, but it is kind of a cool easter egg.
I was back and forth on that for a long time. I saw it in person at NYCC and decided to pass.. but maybe one day.

I mean it makes sense that it has 2 very similar small mouths, one for each alien but i do see why you think they missed an opportunity there. I think the concept is so good, it beats alien dog for me.

It's hard to pick a favorite Alien movie because the first two are so good but I probably like Aliens best. Titanic and Avatar are good but James Cameron does good horror as well.

There’s a few that would’ve gotten the score before I started using the scale. I think OML Vs Hulk got a U. Softibal Venom got a T. But you hit the nail on the head. These are all pieces I but so the goal is to never have a T

I love the statue but the paintjob is terrible. It's almost like someone used coffee to make stains. For the price, I'd imagine they could have put a lot more time into the paintjob.
Gotta agree with you on all you points pretty much...the feet being so large compared to the more refined alien feet bother me a bit and the gold teeth which I can have repainted no big deal..but overall I think this is the best alien piece out there..maybe I'm being biased because I just got mine a couple of days ago..the sculpt being hand sculpted adds a bit more of exclusivity to this I think, the pose is awesome...very nice piece...i can see this statue with time going for about $3500+...congratulations !

As a guy that can only afford a statue or two a year I wish you could maybe make a point of make a point to review statues we can still buy. @@waltzaremba9737 Thanks. I review every piece I get. Some are still available some are not. I also review some older pieces to make sure there is daily content. I currently have 4 COTD pieces. The new Kier, Odium, the Shard Variant, and Malevestros... my favorite is probably The Shard Variant
It looks like a amazing like a amazing piece and the gold kind of confuse me a know that they were trying to do their own thing but clearly in the movie their teeth was kind of silver looking and now every time I look at the piece because you pointed out I think of a Kanye West alien lol With grills
