Fantastic showcase and review on this amazing piece! Bro congratulations on getting one! I just don't have the room for this or the 2 other pieces to complete the diorama. I'll have to vicariously through you! Love the review and it must have took some time to complete. Nice and tidy, yet very informative! Bravo!
Thanks! Yeah the other two pieces would be with me if I didn't already have the space/finances reserved for other stuff. Time, Space, and Money conspire to force us to make choices for sure. But we are both extremely fortunate to have grown the collections we have. In fact, in this video I mentioned I'll be starting a give away program. I have to iron out some kinks but there is a handful of brand new items I have that I was going to sell, but instead I decided to come up with some fun way to have my subscribers get a crack at them for free. Xplus, S.H. Monster Arts, Bandai, and some odds and ends. We'll see how it goes.
do you hear something is moving around in the largest building ? i heard mine has one when flipping it upside down, the lighting works just its giving me anxiety lol
I DID have something rattling around but I think it was the base and noy the building. I had completely forgotten until you mentioned it because I only heard it once and then never again. Plus, everything worked fine and continues to do so! Yes! Anxiety!
@@BatChainPuller although this piece still looks awesome even without the light on, I can’t imagine if one day the light doesn’t work anymore argh. But anyways cool video ! I do suggest playing around with the voice over commentary and BGM balance, some part I feel like the BGM is too overwhelming and hard to catch up with the commentary
@@cookiem1358 Right on! Thanks for the input. There always seems to be some difference in the audio compression that sounds different on UA-cam. Same goes for the visuals. I'll keep playing around and experimenting. And, yeah, I hope the lights never go out. That would be a shame!
You have all sorts of options for Prime 1. Two different vinyl statues, this Diorama, and the Gigantic Heat Ray version. Also, if strictly the KOTM is your thing, Spiral Studio has two versions you might want to check out. www.kaijulive.shop/product-page/totm-gz006-godzilla-2019-atomic-charged-edition
I deliberated on ordering this for a while. Overall it looks amazing and seeing him in scale with the city is awesome. The downside I’ve been noticing with more in-person videos and pictures popping up on the web is that the light up feature appears dimmer than I thought it would be. It really only seems to pop in very low light, which is kinda disappointing.
I've noticed a few different customers with brightness variances. It's tough to tell in photos because of how exposure works, and filters and photoshop are a thing. But I was thinking maybe it might have something to do with different users using different AC adaptors. (This didn't come with one) And though they specify a certain type, I doubt every one paid close attention and thought "all ac adaptors are created equal." However, the one I bought is the one they specified in the instructions.
@@BatChainPuller so even having purchased the AC adaptor specified by Prime 1, yours still looked a bit dim in a moderately well lit room. Did you do any brightening in post or other CC? Would you say your video is a good representation of the light-up feature brightness you experience when look at it in person? What would you say, if anything, that did not totally translate in video that looks different in person?
@@sneaksgeeks9008 I have four different cameras with vastly different strengths and weaknesses so I'm always tweaking, compensating, or nerfing the color, light, and contrast. In some conditions I actually reduced the overall brightness in favor of seeing the contrasting detail in the dorsals. Overall the only issues I initially had with the light up was that the color/light seemed to weaken considerably before it reached the tips of the dorsals. In some shots you can barely make out the outer edges.
@@BatChainPuller the light not reaching the tips of the dorsals a was something I noticed as well. You mentioned it was an issue you initially had with it. Is it no longer an issue or something you’ve come to accept about it? Sorry for all the questions but I’ve teetered back and forth on this piece for about 2 years and I’m wondering if it’ll be worth it for me given my concerns. I also wonder about how the light-up feature will last long term. I’ve been eyeing the Spiral Studio Atomic-Charged Godzilla that was recently announced and while it doesn’t have a light-up feature, the dorsal plates look brilliantly painted and I like how the light appears to be bleeding through other parts of his body like he’s fully juiced up. Looking forward to your Spiral Studio Burning Godzilla video as well.
@@sneaksgeeks9008 The light not reaching the tips of the dorsals is a minor issue that bugs me, but honestly it doesn't bug me enough that I regret the purchase. But if my video and correspondence can help you (or anyone else) make an informed decision, I'm glad to be of service. It's tough to say how long a light up will last. I guess it depends on how well they're made, how long they are left "on" and how well they are treated. In the early days of Xplus Light Ups a LOT of customers had "duds" that just never worked, or conked out days, weeks, or months after receiving them. I actively avoided them until I noticed the trend of happy customers rising once again. All my light ups still work, some four or five years on. I'm told LEDs "last a lifetime" so the jury is still out on that. Painted illumination has also gotten MUCH better over the years so that is another great option. I'm on the fence with the metallic blue finish on the Spiral.
They should have shipped by now. Historically, Prime 1 sends out a shipping notification and then you wait months until the tracking activates when it reaches US soil. But I didn't receive a notification for the Diorama until it already had reached port. I'm guessing/hoping the same is going on with the Gigantic Heat Ray version.
This is a fantastic video, I can’t imagine the time it takes, but the end result is perfect. Now it’s going to be even harder to wait for mine. I ordered around the same time as you but maybe because I ordered the full diorama it’s a longer process. Like you, I feel this largely exceeds my expectations but with Prime 1, I shouldn’t be surprised. I think this piece is the closest you can expect to screen accuracy. Proportions look spot on especially compared to pieces like the Gigantic X-Plus which looks way too bulky and bottom heavy. I asked you when you did the Godzilla bust if you’re getting the Kong bust and at that time you weren’t sure? For me it’s a must have. looking forward to the next video. Thank you for the hard work you do just to share with the community. 😊
This one took awhile because a little idea overtook the garden and I had to rein it in. And there were several technical issues that required sleuthing. I'm glad a few people seem to appreciate the effort! The piece itself does exceed expectations overall, but I was surprised to find it wasn't polystone/resin. I love vinyl, and it's easy to move around and doesn't break when you look at it; but I don't like paying polystone prices for a cheaper, easier to produce material. It should have even cut down on the shipping price overall, but instead it went up. The Kong bust is currently out of my reach financially and spacially speaking. If it turns out fantastic maybe I will sell off a couple pieces to have the room/ display space. Thanks again for the kind words. The next video is a whopper!
@@BatChainPuller for me, this one was a whopper, so I’ll be certain to tune in!! And I hope you find a way to complete your collect with Kong. Only a 300 ES, so it may be a tough pieces to get after market. Thanks again.
@@BeastStatues If it was meant to be it will be! I won't be too disappointed if it doesn't because it's just raining good stuff these days. But I'm glad for UA-cam and checking out other people's stuff and enjoying the community. I hope you decide to make a video of the full diorama. It seems like a sin to "keep it all to yourself." 😉
Yeah man. It's a bummer. But I don't think it's because Prime 1 is being cheap or anything. Rather, they are avoiding some kind of international battery power supply shipping law or something.
You haven't seen my video review and showcase for it yet. Seriously, people who write off the Spiral Burning Godzilla based on paint/detail are missing the point. The light up on the Prime 1 compliments the overall piece. The Spiral light up IS the piece. It's like comparing a flash light to a prism. Prime 1 benefits from being unquestionably presentable with or without the light up feature. But Spiral, with the light up, is truly a God incarnate; presenting an Alpha Flex beyond compare. You'll see! I illustrate it in my upcoming review.
Those Japanese artisans failed to recreate HONGKONG, looks nothing like it did in movie, being that Mecha-G was built by a Chinese company and could have EASILY killed Gojira , and by the way LEGENDARY PICTURES is a Chinese Company, so it makes sense why Mecha-G would dominate gojira, historically correct 😂 but a really detailed brown looking city, I thought there was another Kaiju in this diorama? 🤔
The diorama was sold in pieces or as a set. The Godzilla only set came with what you see here. Kong comes with his own different buildings and different vehicles. The complete set comes with both, AND an extra interconnecting batch of buildings that look more like Hong Kong. The buildings with Godzilla do seem more generic "could be any city" buildings. Only a very few of the complete sets are out in the wild but you can find them on UA-cam and critique the urban landscape in the comments. 🌆
