  • HOLGAROIDS?
Yes indeed! “Through A Glass Darkly” was my second book printed at the legendary SALTO Press in Belgium with an accompanying exhibition in both Vermont and Paris, France. It’s very hard for me to believe that this was 20 years ago!
In this video we look at a modified HOLGA camera with Polaroid back and try some very expired Polaroid peel apart film from 2006.

Man, I loved traveling on the road with my Holgaroid. Great times. I really miss it. I must have had a later model because mine would fill the entire frame with the exception of some vignetting from the diopter. I knew right away what happened when those first images didn't come out! 😮 It brought me right back! I had to put a big flag on my dark slide handle made of fluorescent orange tape so that it wouldn't happen to me AGAIN. Very nice work, and I'm so happy that your film still works! Cheers

Im excited to see the gorgeous prints myself in person! It was so cool that you so nonchalant shot that 89 film haha. If I want my copy signed where do I comment that?

Loving the progression of your videos. I think a small wireless mic would be a great investment. Keep it up!

Wowwww! Fantastic B&W Photo book! And more shocking: that type 89 film works like new, that’s insane. If you get a cheap type 80 Polaroid Peel Apart Camera you can get the most out of the film exposure wise. The B&W Film was most likely 3000 speed, this color film is only 75 or 100.

    Sigh… I wasted 3 shots of FO-100c in the stupidest ways possible…
Shot 1/2: I accedentally pulled out the 1 and 2 tabs at the same time, and so my first shot had terrible spread, and my second shot was blank.
Shot 3: double exposed because I was hoping that I could still use the second shot (I couldn’t…). Thankfully it was film I got for free though, and not film I spent $90 on...
Now, my Polaroid 669 on the other hand, I did forget to pull the slide on my first shot, and I was so worried that I had just spent $30 on worthless film. That is, until someone reminded me that I’m a forgetful idiot lol.
Wish I could get a pack of that film, looks like it would work spectacularly on my RB67.

It’s crazy as back in the early 2000’s I shot so much peel apart film in all formats including 4x5 and if you messed up and wrecked a sheet or two it was no big deal but nowadays with the dwindling supply it feels quite different to mess up as this film is never coming back.
