Cant thank you enough mate. I'm in the middle of northern Europe and the nearest phone service is 45 km away. That means I need to drive there and back and return to collect in a couple of days so 180km all in. I managed to sort it thanks to your vid, so in off ice fishing tomorrow as planned, your a star.
Thank you, thank you!! Emphasis on keeping tiny, micro screws organized lol each are truly different. Handy shortened (many steps saved) and genius trick for placement! 😊😅 all went well w ifixit kit. Thanks so much for your tech knowledge 🎉 and sharing 😄
Thanks this was really helpful! Though, the process has also renewed my hate for Apple. Apparently my power connector was 2mm to far forward so I had to pull half the thing apart a second time. I swear my Note 9 used about half as many of the *same* philips screw. Not to mention less glue and more cooperative connectors.
I just completed my swap! I bought a couple of cheap dead phones off eBay and practiced several times. The videos that show removing the logic board and all the other components at the top of the phone were overwhelming. (I’ve swapped the battery before and that was easy in comparison). Anyway- your “slip it under the logic board” method is pure genius! Thank you!!❤❤
Thanks for a very well explained video , and mentioning the pitfalls ( like screws ) it seems very hard eh ! but you make it look so easy , how long does this take can you tell me If done by mr average guy ? Thanks :)
What the required voltage on the battery connector on the board? The iPhone i have only shows 3.7 volts.... which apparently is not enough to charge the battery
Those 2 cables u said that are tricky I pushed to hard n snapped the top of what of them do I have to buy a new board or is there a trick to fix it bc my phone don't light up at all
What if touch ID button stopps working / vibrating after this replacement.... Tried rebooting, updating software, and taking connectors of screen on and off but no luck...
Any tips for where to get an affordable set of screwdrivers? I mostly fart around with repairing vintage computers but am looking to branch into phones and stuff.
If you think this is non serviceable it might be you who needs some increased intelligence 😂 I remember doing this back freshman year in high school to make money fixing phones of class mates
luckily the charging port is not built in board otherwise you'll have to disolder it most difficult ever, cause corrotion or dirty port connection is one of the problems
and I just killed my phone. I took the 2 screws out, opened my iphone very slowly like a book, and broke a ribbon connection. The other ribbon connection is fine. I only see one in this one that you used. I have an iphone 7 plus as well.
