    Just a couple things....first, wish I'd have plugged in the new port before replacing it as a different video suggested. Mine was defective so I had to do it all over. Just flip up the screen, remove the cover over the charging port connection and swap the connection and verify that the new port works. Second, it's CRITICAL that you stick the port down in the correct spot, as said below, as if you don't it won't line up with the mother board and you'll have to pull it all apart to readjust the stuck down portion of the new part. Just things that would have saved me a lot of trouble and time. thanks for the video!

    Thanks for the video. Really helpful how detailed it is. The only place I got stuck was with how the WiFi cables get unclipped from the side of the speaker. I didn't realize they just come straight out of the side. Unfortunately my new port got me stuck in the reboot loop, so I couldn't fix my problem. But thank you!

      @@SmartEasyDIYer Thank you. I got the cables back in but failed to get it back together. The new component would not line up well with the longer cable to the Motherboard, so I through in the towel. I wonder if the component was generic, because the holes for the screws lined up right, it just would not recess to the bottom of the phone enough to line up that one cable, but just bareley. I wonder if anyone else has had this issue. Thanks for your response.

    I have an iPhone 7 plus. If it's not charging and not getting recognized on the pc, do you think it's damaged? It charges sometimes, I just have to connect the lightning usb in the port on a weird way, like pushing up a little bit. I'm guessing the lightning port is fucked up, or could be the lightning usb? When I connect my iPhone to my pc, it says that the device couldn't be recognized, like it detects it but it doesn't get recognized at all.
    I'm totally out of ideas, the first time that this happened I tried cleaning the lightning port with a toothpick and suddenly it worked perfectly, but then I tried to charge it again and it didn't charge... So I tried cleaning the lightning port again and it didn't work this time. It just worked randomly when I connected it again.

    • @SmartEasyDIYer
      @SmartEasyDIYer  6 років тому

      +Sunbae Kcalb have you tried a different lightning cable just to make sure it's not that? If not I would say the charging port connection it's going bad and needs to be replaced.

    • @SmartEasyDIYer
      @SmartEasyDIYer  5 років тому

      Hi. I’m sorry you’re having these issues. I’m thinking that either you got a faulty part or something isn’t reconnected correctly. The only thing I know to do to make sure is to take it all apart and carefully reconnect all the connections as you reassemble. Sometimes that’s all it takes as something isn’t quite reconnected properly even though it looks like it is. If it still doesn’t work I would suspect a faulty new part and exchange or replace it.

    What do you do if one of the pieces wont connect. Everything worked perfectly until the end when I had to connect everything back together. It's the piece above the battery please help I been working on this for 4 hours

    Thanks for the excellent video! I was about to order your suggested $28 toolkit when I saw this review. Can you verify that this is the case?
    "NOT for iPhone 7 repair!! There is NO Y000 Tri-Wing Bit as Advertised
    Precision Screwdriver Set - 35 Bit Tool Kit & 9 Tools for iPhone, Samsung, Computer Repair
    If you are trying to repair an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7plus digitizer or screen DO NOT buy this kit. The smallest tri-wing bit that is provided in the kit is a Y0.8 and not a Y000 as advertised. The Y0.8 bit is too big for the tri-wing screws. You will not be able to complete the repair."

      You’re welcome. So actually for my iPhone 7 I used the Y0.8 just fine and it worked well. I did not need a Y000.

      Smart Easy DIY Thanks for the fast reply. Yes, I noticed what you said you used, and I was a bit confused. I'll order your suggested items and steel myself for the upcoming ordeal.

      I’d try replacing this part first. Much cheaper.

    At 6:21 there's a screw under the rear camera. At 6:33 that screw is gone and you start lifting the motherboard...

    hey bro i had bought 2 cheap charging cables for my iphone 7 plus as original was broken. My phone was not getting charged yest from the new one's and then i tried to do it with my brothers original cable and after numerous attemps i got the device on. now after that battery was lost now the phone is not charging nor it is going into any mode.
    I had shown it to the apple service center they said the device is not working and they said it has become dead.
    I dont know why and how it has happned or is it really dead or is there a problem with the charging port.
    Now it's not starting up and i have not dropped it and it doesnt even have any water or damage issue.
    I think because of the cheap wires my charging port would've stopped working somehow so should i check it locally or try to change the charging port in some local repair shop as the apple center people said nothing can be done from their side and they can only replace a new phone with hald price.
    I still have a little hope left cause nothing happned to my phone and it got switched off and stopped charging.
    please help bro

    I followed all your steps and when I was done it just showed the apple screen. So I took it apart again and re did it and it's still showing the apple screen. Do you know what could be causing it so I can fix it asap.

    funny how all these iphone 7 videos don't show the iphone restarting after replacing the dock ribbon. Because, they probably boot loop.

    • @SmartEasyDIYer
      @SmartEasyDIYer  6 років тому

      I’m not sure why I didn’t show it. Usually just to keep a already long video as short as I can I try to trim out certain parts that aren’t directly related to replacement. It’s a good for future though. Thanks. Mine didn’t have any issues.

    • @techstuff786

      Whats the reason for the boot loop because I am now on my second charging port and getting boot loops. First charging port was brand new but boot loop... second charging port the microphone was not clear and the third charging port I got boot loops again. Whats going on?

    I hate how apple make you disassemble and reassemble the entire phone just to change the charging port. Doesn't make it a quick job like in the 6s and earlier >:(

    • @SmartEasyDIYer

      I know right?! It’s so much work. They do that for all the later models now. I just did a iPhone X on my channel recently and same story. 😑

      @@SmartEasyDIYer Do you think I can do it? I have replaced loads of parts but I have never actually removed and reinstalled the logic board. Do you think I'd be okay bearing in mind that I can do screens and all their parts, batteries, charging ports and headphone jacks and microphones and power buttons, etc on older models?

    • @SmartEasyDIYer
      @SmartEasyDIYer  5 років тому

      Yes I think you’ll do just fine! 😊

    • @SmartEasyDIYer
      @SmartEasyDIYer  5 років тому +1

      I think the biggest thing is to go slow and step by step. Make sure to keep your screws in order and where you don’t lose them or mix them up. That’s one of the biggest things with a long repair.

      @RektByRafay 5 років тому +1

      @@SmartEasyDIYer Thanks! I'm most nervous about the antenna wires to be honest as I removed one in a 6s and after that they just would not go back into the hole! Thanks for your advice though!
