Fantastic overview of Pachinko. It’s great to see it getting so much recognition. It is truly the best thing I’ve ever watched on tv. Everyone brings their A game - from the writing, cinematography, score, acting and all the other departments that brought Pachinko to life.
Hopefully it will be recognised with more awards for s2, it certainly deserves them.

Quite frankly, if you told me to watch a show that is not just in a foreign language but switches between THREE (English included); and does lots of jumps between timelines, in a foreign setting, in an unfamiliar historical setting, that sounds like an absolute sh*tshow. BUT Pachinko makes it work.
On top, the show is a tragedy from afar but a beautiful family drama up close, with people finding both happiness and sadness in events (and does not spend too much time or details in dealing with colonial atrocities. It touches but does not dwell)
Not to mention filming was beautiful. It's almost a shame that this is exclusive to Apple TV+
