This isn't something I've had to use much in the past but after seeing the results, I'm quite literally blown away. I don't use those words lightly and I'd love to know if you're as surprised as I was! Also let me know if you'd like me to compare it to topaz labs, dxo, or any other AI based noise reduction.

Thank you Alex and Merry Christmas :)
Thank you too!
Good video, Alex. I appreciate seeing hands-on real world use of the various photos editing programs.
Thanks Stephen!
I’ve been using Topaz Denoise for several years and I love the results! My eagle images and live music (Low Light) images really benefit from this program! Results seem very similar to your demonstration! Thanks!
Thanks Randy. I just downloaded the Sharpen AI for a later video. Results are incredible.
Insane 😮
I’ve ended up using DXO PureRAW, I’d suggest giving it a spin! It also does optical corrections. Only works on RAW. I compared it against ON1 and ended up preferring it but that could be camera specific, I’m using a m4/3 camera. Very few knobs to turn, but I haven’t missed it, sometimes I’ll toggle off sharpening on a specific image if it overdoes it.
I use Pure RAW on my APS-C Samsung NX series images. It works much better than Topaz does and I didn't find that much difference with On1's NoNoise and I already had purchased Pure RAW so I've stuck with it. The latest version does have a pretty seamless way of handling the conversion of one file within LR and produces a RAW file that LR actually thinks is a RAW file.
I used DXO PureRaw for something like a year ago. Completely forgot they sent it to me. Ill throw that into the comparison if I do one.
So they created a workflow where the program takes in a raw and outputs a dng? Thats good to know. Wonder if I still have access
@@AlexArmitage Yes, DxO Pure RAW produces DNG's that Lightroom will treat just like a RAW file from the camera. You can apply camera specific profiles and everything else you'd get in LR with a camera produced RAW file.
DXO PhotoLab Elite DeepPrime noise reduction (same engine as PureRaw) is awesome!! Really a class in its own to my humble opinion.
Also, nice job of sharpening the eagle pic. The edited one is tack-sharp!
It's magic. I swear!
I do almost exclusive wildlife photography with Canon Cameras and lenses (currently the R5) I've found that DXO Pure Raw produces the best results with my files. In fact, it has handled my files so well that I have switched from LR to DXO PhotoLab 5 as my main file processor and will only occasionally do a little something to the file in LR, or one of the NIK filters. Check out DXO Pure Raw or PL5 for your Canon files.
Catherine
Thanks Catherine. If I could get my dang license to work. I will :) Haha
I use Topaz & it's amazing but I hear great things about ON1 as well.
Im sure the results are all similar if I had to imagine
I use TOPEZ and it always blows me away Love your EAGLE Images
Thanks Rae!!
I tried PureRAW with my R5 images and felt it messed with the color rather than just denoising. Alex I think you can get comfortable showing the software without apologizing, there are plenty of software shills on YT and no one will confuse your fantastic content with theirs!
Thanks Chad. I still have the link down there but like I said - terrible salesman.
Morning Alex,
Interesting subject matter and some great results...
I've not utilized high iso's much which I think increases the noise levels, probably why I've not seen much result from denoising software. I'm thinking I should run a series of test shots to determine at what level the noise shows up. Then follow up with a denoising program so as to view the results...
Yes I'd like to see a comparison between denoising softwares. I currently have the DxO DeepPRIME as well as the older Nik Define2.
Stay safe, and dry
Seems like photos are less genuine when 'fixed' by various programs. Especially with over correcting or adding details where there was none in the original shot.
PureRAW is the best
Pureraw is best.. Tried ON1, Topaz..

Okay but don't forget to like and subscribe! :D
No masking?.
I think it can?
