You have a Wonderful family to be able to let ypou follow your dreams. Thank you and your family for sharing a wonderful journey through some very wonderful dangerous country. I would of had a gun😊
My uncle used ro use my childhood address and my faimlys house as his home base when he was an OTR driver. He kept his cars, guns, motorcycle... ect here. He saved alot of money that way and me and my brother were always excited to see him every month or two when he came to town.

You know that the early mountain men bought provisions such as coffee' sugar and salt so. No shame in bringing such things. I do however love the pure way you go about these adventures. My father did the same in Alaska in the late 40's and early 50's. God bless and I'll be keeping a good thought for you and yours.
@Iamthealchemist247you think the early 49’s, gold claiming mountain men DIDN’T bring a horse with them!? Really? I’m truly puzzled at your comment. They all most certainly brought a horse with them. Come on now.
My father and I walked 50 miles into the wind river range and stayed there a month. I learned my survival skills/mindset from a man that ate dogs, bugs and horses in order to survive.
You sir are a true mountain man ,reality yes this is awesome Thank you I needed this we all need more of this. Hope you will make this happen again soon ❤

Number one I am a retired fish and wildlife officer from Alaska and I can guarantee you if a man is starving the hunting laws do not apply. Number two you actually have to kill something to break a law to begin with, I'm thinking behind the scenes The producer slips you a sandwich in your sleeping bag along with the hot hands😮. And certainly a sack of cracked corn for seven.
Wow what a great episode! Randy and team have always put out great videos. But you’ve obviously stepped up the production! What a great video with great people. Thank you for showing us how beautiful Montana is, and showing new people the outdoors. Such a great video.
Fun to watch and kudos for his attempt. Respect that he's out there while I critique from my sofa. Each episode shocked over and over that he didn't bring a basic tarp knowing rain and snow would be coming. Surely even trappers of 100+ years ago had canvas.
What a beautiful family you have my friend. Been watching your adventures for years. I grew up with a family of mountain men, loggers and outdoorsmen and women. Your stories and ambitions to show the true mountain man lifestyle is very refreshing. Keep up the stellar work and let your soon to be wife know the content is amazing. Much love from the Hurn’s in the Pacific Northwest
It really blows my mind with so many rules on what/how you have to hunt in the middle of nowhere. Wasn't like that growing up for me. If it passed on my land of 80 acres then it was fair game. And we ate dear, rabbit, wild turkey, beaver, and snake. No rules. Mind you we also had a very big garden and other farm raised animals to eat as well. We only killed what we needed to live. And we always ate what we killed and tanned the hides, dogs got the bigger bones. Good way to grow up.
I really hope that Seven is named after Smoke Jenson's horse. I love all of Johnstone's books and Laramy is definitely a real life Preacher roaming the Big Empty!

The mountain men utilised what was available at the time. They even learned from and utilised accoutrements the Indians had. I’m certain it was a constant learning process of trial and error. Without question, they were tough and rugged men who blazed trials into the unknown wilds. We can never fully duplicate their lives, but we can have fun reenacting what portions of their lifestyle are possible. I’m an IronHorse mountain man. We never tied out horses solid.. We tied them to a tire or a big log that they could move by raising their head. They couldn't run away but stopped them from getting hurt on a solid tie..
Horses are so cool. At 56:43 the horse stars to look back to the right at the rider as if to say..."Hey man, I thought we were a team? Don't throw me under the buss in front of these guys? :)" Perhaps it will encourage this green horn to step up as he learns. Horses usually do. Heck, I'm 54 and I don't walk into tall grass - well EVER. Good temperament shown by the trainer. Peace
Love this so much. I cant help but imagine the troubles of trying to film everything at the same time like when youre hunting you cant just set up cameras and keep walking back to pick them up as youd be risking spooking game all the time so id imagine there were a lot of re-enactments in order to portray what happened to the viewer. Awesome job 👏
I watched this last year once and I'm watching it again on my breaks from working on some of my lifelong dreams. At my age (72), I suppose you might say it's one of the items on my bucket list, but with a strong body, good health, the grace of God and a degree in mastering old school larnin', I am (and I say this under my breath) finally in a place where I feel I can act on them. I used to work for a man in North Idaho who trained horses. Then we would ride them ten miles up the mountain to fine tune them for what this handsome feller (okay, you too) is doing right here. We saw BIG cat prints, moose and elk dropping and evidence of bears in the hood. They're all up there just 20 miles from the B.C. border. When we reached the top, we could see all over creation including Canada. That's one of many I can tic off my list; smiling from ear to ear! But for now it's pause and back to making another one happen. Until later, the absolute best to you and yours! Don't stop what you're doing! Peace out, Naomi🌹
everything is awesome in this and I commend you. I've lived mostly off the land for over 20 years in the PNW and various other states. one thing... place those pine boughs facing down with the stem up. the rain follows the path of them naturally as if they were on the tree. other than that. we should do a dual survival type show. for real!! I need to learn some hunting and horse work from you.
Very good video my friend! Really enjoyed it and seeing your little one finally recognizing you at the end was truly awesome! Wish you good health and happiness
Thanks for the epic story and journey you took us on brother. I appreciate everything you do and I truly enjoy how you showed us how a real mountain man has to struggle to survive in our beautiful wilderness. God bless you and your family. Can't wait until you do it again so we can enjoy the next squatch journey.
Great content. I'm curious however at the 1:27:39 mark when you talk about not having eaten for days, there is an empty bag of jack links beef jerky on the ground. Does that not count as eating, or did that accidentally make it on camera??
Dude this was so awesome 👍👍 really appreciate you sharing your adventure love it, I’ll watch for more. God bless I’ll watch for the next one until then peace and chicken grease 😁👍👍😎
I think in a survival life and death situation rules and laws no matter, if it was me in that situation i would've already had at least a dozen snares and traps set up!

Until later, the absolute best to you and yours! Don't stop what you're doing!
Peace out,
Naomi🌹
everything is awesome in this and I commend you.
Very nice job done thank you for the wonderful adventure you provide keep up the good work and god bless🎉
Very good video my friend! Really enjoyed it and seeing your little one finally recognizing you at the end was truly awesome! Wish you good health and happiness
nicely done Squatch!
This was incredible. The 4K30 4K60 issue was real. Idk how that happened but Laramy is a boss.
I really enjoy this mans adventures

You need to carry a slingshot. Easy to transport, light accurate, , cheap ammo, great for poppin’ squirrels, grouse, rabbits
A Big congratulations on your family bro. You guys are so beautiful! I'm glad for you sasquatch. Be careful!
Great content. I'm curious however at the 1:27:39 mark when you talk about not having eaten for days, there is an empty bag of jack links beef jerky on the ground. Does that not count as eating, or did that accidentally make it on camera??
Good eye ! 😂😂😂
The grouse shot? 🤪
@@JordanHootonthat beef Jerry was the 📸 man's beef Jerry lol😂

Very educational...Thank you..❤..it...
Love the half eaten bag of Jack Links jerky laying on top of the tarp he slept on as he says he has to find food to survive 😂
ooooops! lol
Sure, that's what he's eating now but how long is jerky links going to sustain you for food?
Everyone takes a trip into town eventually.
I think in a survival life and death situation rules and laws no matter, if it was me in that situation i would've already had at least a dozen snares and traps set up!
Awesome little cabin, 👍👍
My maternal ancestors were French Canadian coureurs de bois, from Northern Quebec, if I wasn't allergic to sunlight (from my father's Bohemian ancestors) I would be living outdoors too. Keep being true to yourself. ❤
Straight up slayer with a stick bow!
Would love to see a Timelapse of the cabin building. That could look really cool
much love and peace
