Hello Germany. We ended up filling our diff housings with a good mechanic grease. Just enough for it to catch the sand if it got inside. Silicon may be too extreme (in my opinion), you want to make sure you can access your housing anytime. It seems like no matter what you do, sand will always find a way inside. After 10-20 or so runs on the sand, we’ll do a good service/cleaning to it. The grease is a messy job, but we haven’t had any sand problems so far.

The only thing that has ever broke on the UDR is the driveline, and I have taken it out to the dunes dozens of times. Sand is much softer than people think…But you must be rich if you’re thinking of getting a UDR.

Thank you op wood. Nothing broke that day. With it nose diving into the sand a couple times I did get a little crack in the hood by the bumper.

Correct. The only thing I’ve done is is add the light kit and paddle tires.
