Portland and Seattle are two beautiful cities of north west and I can not say one is more beautiful than the other. They are like heaven on earth. All we got to do then is soak up the beauty, enjoy life and be happy.
I live in Oregon and it is all this and more. We have been over most of the US and have chose Oregon because of it beauty and climate and people. We think of it as our little peace of heaven and I love the Oregon mist.
I was raised and lived in Portland for 29 years. I actually just moved to LA for a career change. Portland isn't as small as many people think. According to Wiki, it has more people than Atlanta, Miami, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Long Beach, etc. When my family moved there in '86 from Maryland, it was for sure a smaller city. The population has exploded ever since Portland was ranked the best place to live. And it is a great place to live if you have a family. Low crime, clean, cheaper cost of living, good public schools, and no sales tax (but high property tax). If you're single however, it might not be the best place to live unless you're one of those pot smoking types. Oregon just legalized marijuana for recreational use. Since the population has risen dramatically, the traffic is horrendous. It is on par with larger cities. The city has been doing a lot of reconstruction of roads but it can't keep up with the many people moving in. Portland also rains A LOT.
@@haydenrubin5970 Nah he means the city. Atlanta and Miami metro areas are at least twice as big as Portland's. I think Atlanta's metro has like 5 million people. It's huge.
Major must-see attractions in Portland:The Chinese Gardens and the Japanese Gardens. They are totally different, both amazingly gorgeous. And don't miss the largest bookstore in the US. Then rent a car and drive west 100 miles to Cannon Beach, where Mother Nature is at her best!
I moved from Miami to Portland, and I should have done it many years before I did. What an amazing place Portland is! I love it when East coast friends come to visit and I get to show them around my glittering jewel on the Willamette. Such an amazing place!
I went to Portland last week to visit my family. The city is filled up with trash and homeless. Not the same Portland that I knew 7 years ago. But Hillsboro and Beaverton are still gorgeous and maintained. At the end, Oregon is a beautiful state despite the situation in Portland.
I know im asking the wrong place but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost my password. I appreciate any help you can give me!
I absolutely loved Portland and Seattle. Multnomah falls is so pretty. I ended up with some fantastic pictures. Can't wait till I get to visit again someday.
I went here last summer, it has inflienced and inspires me so much, although you could maybe blame to music but without this city, my ideas sould have never surfaced.
It's really not that great now. Homeless and tent cities everywhere. Traffic jams that go from 5am until 11:00 at night. Gentrification is displacing long time residents. Glad you like PDX but that is now the reality.
Hudaman how's the weather, downtown, and job scene compared to seattle? I'm curious because I'm debating whether I should move to Seattle or portland after college
MC K . Weather is practically identical. Portland gets about 5 days more rain per year, on average, than Seattle. Portland is also a lot greener and more forested, but Seattle has much more water and bay access. In terms of scenery, both are located next to some of the best hiking and natural scenery around, although Washington's mountains are more rugged.
Portland is a hipsters paradise, I visited this city last year and loved it's artist underground vibe. People are super friendly, it's easy to get around and plenty of photo ops too.
I have saved this video in my favorites and have probably watched it over a hundred times to prep myself for my cross country move to Portland, great job Expedia, hope to see more down the road.
Live in Portland; would never consider living anywhere else! We've got coastline, deserts, rainforest, volcanoes, mountains, lakes, arctic tundra, canyons, lava flows, waterfalls, rivers, glaciers, caves, sub-alpine meadows, wetlands, and pine forests, just to name a few. And most of all that is located on public land! We are lucky to have so much public land and wilderness available for us to enjoy. And since we are located right at the Washington border, we also have access to some of Washington's best natural scenery, including places like Mt. St. Helens, Mt Rainier, the Puget Sound, San Juan Islands, Gifford Pinchot, North Cascades, and the Olympic coast. And our city is incredibly green and environmentally conscious, too, with some of the best public transport systems in the whole U.S.
Sorry for the spelling mistakes, but I write the translator. I am enchanted by Oregon, City of Portland, Lake Oswego. There is a beauty. I would like to live there. I been to Portland since I was little. I was born here in Washington (Vancouver). I lived in Vancouver for a long time when I was a baby. We lived close to Oregon. Not too far from all of us lives in Vancouver, WA. :)
One of the greatest places I’ve ever been. Like be love love it here and would recommend this to any open minded creative and someone who loves the outdoors!
Just visited portland. The downtown area cannot look more different from the video. All abandoned, boarded-up, empty, and scary. There were absolutely no pedestrian except the homeless or people looking for troubles. Really sad.
I've lived in PDX since 2002, and I've never seen anything like what it is today. FUCK PANDEMIC JOB LOSSES AND THOSE PEOPLE EVICTING THE POOR THROUGH NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN
Portland also has the most strip clubs per capita. Full nude with food and alcohol. They're everywhere. I don't think there are many, if any, states that allow that.
true. and that goes for portland's only gay strip bar, the silverado. it's where most gay men and straight women go flock to and throw money for at gay & straight (gay for pay) men strippers
TheBlazersfan22 Yes, *one* of the mountains near Portland is called Mount Hood. However, you can also see Mt. St. Helens just as clearly, as well as Mt Rainier, Mt Adams (all three in Washington), and Mt Jefferson from Portland, too. There's also quite a few other big mountains/volcanoes in Oregon, however, including Mt Jefferson, Mt Washington, Three Sisters, Mt Bachelor, Mt McLoughlin, and Three Fingered Jack. I've hiked around almost all of these peaks.
Nobody mention that we love biking so much that we have bike police and they even go to schools to teach kids about proper locking. We also have lots of peaceful bike trails. I think one of the best parts is that even though theres a lot of construction going on right now, you dont really have to worry about traffic if you just use your phone for maps and take the max or bus, it is so easy, so inexpensive and it goes all over Portland! Even though there are a lot of homeless people, I've never had an incident that's been disruptive, I once talked to a homeless guy and he thanked us for just finding a coin on the ground!😊 If you want to ask me anything about Portland I'd be happy to answer.

Willamette Valley Vineyards sells t-shirts that read, “It's Willamette, dammit.” In other words, the “a” sounds like the one in “cat” and the last syllable should sound like the thing a baseball player wears on his hand. The pronunciation in this video sounds more like the Kalapuya tribe's word “walamet,” meaning to “spill or pour water”. I'm just being picky, but if it irked me enough to write a comment, it might be important to others as well. Loved the footage and the voice over is excellent :)
