Please watch: "GIG LOG! | MEETING A SUBSCRIBER! | SHOP TOUR COMING SOON" • Video ~-~~-~~~-~~-~ just a few thoughts on how to properly price your packages and services. Comment below!
My feelings on setting prices; Charge enough so that you are satisfied with the money and inspired to do a great job. But most of all, just get the gig! If you've got bills to pay, don't lose a job because you wanted too much for uplights or something. Working the gig rewards you with both money and experience.
you all prolly dont give a damn but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I was dumb forgot my login password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.
Excellent points John. DJs ask what others charge because they don't know what to charge themselves. First figure out what your expenses are for equipment and for each gig. That is your base. Then you need to consider your location, like John said. For example, there may not be a Gucci store or a Maserati dealership in the whole state of Alaska! Why? Because there are not enough customers who will pay those prices.
Good food for thought. I've moved south from New York and noticed the fee-for-service price difference right away. I'm still trying to getting used to it. I've dropped quite a bit but not as low as everyone else. I know my services are just worth more. I can say that every client that I have worked with down here has been more than satisfied. I'll keep my pricing as fair as I can without giving services away.
If you shop a new Ford F-150 in New York and move to Arkansas, the price will be the same if not more. You don’t pay less for the equipment you currently have in your possession. I am from the West Indies where we have a simple formula when it comes to dj’s. They play against each other (clash) and the crowd will crown the best guy. He gets to name his price and all the rest come after. When you hire a dj, you always know what you will get and there’s no surprise. I never understood when you sit on a ✈️ airplane, the guy next to you can pay more or less for his seat than you paid when you booked your ticket. This only happens in America. You can’t hire a dj by price! How do you know what you are getting?
What's up DJ WP I agree with everything that you said except for 1 thing. You stated that people should hook up with neighboring DJ'S but that doesn't always work out well. C. Smith had a gig and connected with another DJ who went to Smith's gig with him, & while at this gig this guy started passing out his own business cards. So you still have to be careful of the people you meet because trust me, some feel like you're there to take money out of their pockets. Especially when your setup looks a lot better than theirs. The rest of this video was on point though. Great video bruh.
Dj Woo Pig hey chief how is it going? have a question for you. See I just got the ddj-sz and while familiarizing myself with it got into the midi section and I don't know what I did in there and now I can't get the echo in sound color fx to come on pls help is you can. thanks
Exactly man. They hooking up 2 powered speakers,a electronic mixer hooked to a laptop and they called themselves djs. They need to be bumped out the way to do just house parties.
the reason gas prices in Cali are so high is we have more clean air additives as well as . things to make the environment less damaged by the petrol... etc...
Whats up dj woopig, you said you charge 250 for 4 hours. people here where im from would stand on their head about that price. these yougsters here done messed the price margine up so 150.00 threading water. i dont really dj that much because im not djing for 4 or 5 hours for that, why because im too experienced, my professional setup with the facade and skirts and so forth. these people just want to get by with $50 and $75 and thats not worth my time.
I USED TO charge that much, but that has been years ago, and I wouldn't dare go out for that short of money now. Stand your ground and the gigs will come:

Very great points that others may never think about. Your area and market does determine how much you can charge for events.

I know what you say on pricing. I know DJ's that made more but I am the better JOCK.... And everyone knew it but I was younger then & kicked ass.

Sadly 95% of Djs WILL NEVER get the right money for the equipment and djing services.
I found this out way WAY BACK in 1977.... yeah 1977.....!!!!!
