Pulisic comes into this game after a month off, was the reason we got a penalty shot, makes the shot, and gets MOTM. Can't ask for much more than that. Our team looked more energetic and invested, hopefully our new coach inspired them. Thanks for the video, always look forward to it after matches.

I love the second half of this game. I adore the verticality and fast attack. This is how Pulisic, Leao, Morata and Tammy all flourish. This is how we beat Real Madrid and Inter this year! I really can't understand why Fonseca didn't see the strength in this team as a more counter-attacking team

exactly - If you look at how well Liverpool is playing and what they do and what their strengths are , they have fantastic wingers with outstanding pace and ball control and most importantly the composure to finish; my point is that they play the counter so well and make those long runs forward & look at their success.

I've noticed that the game has been cancelled a pretty strange affair, however I felt like I watched milan play like a team for the first time this season and I feel like we won this game by sheer willpower. It was the will to show a good perdition in general. It was the will to get to the ball first from Pulisic that got us the penalty, it was the will to play in a fast tempo that got us our chances and the strange musah goal. Earlier in the season I would have seen milan give up on many of those second balls, make a half-hearted attempt at the high press from the forwards and the midfield not following up and ect. I think the team looked completely transformed

  • @otter4ever
    @otter4ever 9 днів тому +8

Last season it felt like Thiaw was good for a bonehead mistake every other game or so, but he's been so impressive this year. One of his actions that stuck out to me today was when he managed to time it perfectly to muscle the ball away from a Juve player right before they took the shot in the box and shepherded it out of bounds. I think it was in the first half when that happened. Last year he probably would've come in too hot and drawn a pen, but today his timing was perfect. Growth!
Bennacer is rusty. I'll hand it to him, he was trying to be everywhere at once, but his passes were too sloppy and I think that was a big factor in why the first half looked so poor for the team overall, because Tijj and Fofana didn't get on the ball that much in comparison. I'm willing to give Bennacer time, though, because he's been out for so long. I will say, though- every time he went to ground my heart stopped for a second thinking he was going to re-injure himself.
I'm really happy for Yunus today. I still think he has so much potential and maybe Sergio can help him unlock the next level in his development. He strikes me as one of those guys who's friends with everyone in the locker room because he's a genuinely nice person and I really want him to do well. He plays his heart out every second he's on the pitch, he really does.

Another assist for Theo, as I expected, so shoutout to Theo! Juventus' goal went through Theo, who inexplicably turns his body around while coasting only to realize the ball was probably going to be sent, then tries to quickly turn his body back around off-balance (turn your head around quickly and often, not your body, as defenders are taught and drilled to do way back in juniors). Then at 37 min, he watches and stops (because of traffic) only to see the ball sent down the line for Yildiz with no one on him. Later, Theo flubs a sitter right in front of the goal while being flat-footed (rewatch the play, he sent the ball over the bar BECAUSE as usual he was on his heels and unprepared, not because of a weaker right foot).

Love your channel, Kush. I want to say here that I don't bash Theo for fun. It's important to know that I have no long-term connection to AC Milan that might cloud my judgment. The only reason I've tuned into Milan the last 2 years is because of Pulisic. I signed up for Paramount Plus 2 years ago just to get access to AC Milan games. I watched about half of Milan's games last year and 100% of Milan's games this year. This is why I must disagree with Kush (and others) on Kush's point that Theo played better when Leao was on the field (and vice-versa). In fact, even though it's true that Theo always looks to pass the ball to Leao, Theo played the same atrocious (non) defense both when Leao played the entire games and in the 3 games that Fonseca penalized Leao by either not playing Leao or playing him in the 2nd half. To be fair, Kush did criticize Theo for today's performance against Juventus, but he also ended his Theo commentary on a positive note, probably to try to be balanced with regard to one of Milan's supposed "stars," so I do understand where Kush is coming from. However, I do not see any potential for a Theo renaissance or recovery. (1) Theo has never been a defender, does not know how to position as a defender, and has never shown any interest in true high-energy, lockdown defense at the individual level. (2) Over the last 2 weeks, I went back and saw every single World Cup 2022 France game (after all, this is when Theo came onto the world map, right after his brother got injured early in the 1st game), and he's pretty much the same, except his French teammates are exceptional athletes, both defensively and offensively, and can and did cover his ass. (3) Theo wouldn't change for Fonseca, and he won't change (and he didn't today against Juventus) for Conceicao BECAUSE he's not a defender. It has nothing to do with a personality problem with the coach; for anyone arguing that (another Milan YT host did this), let's see if I understand: a pro football defensive player may or may not play and run hard on defense depending on if he likes the coach? Milan must sell Theo in the current January transfer window in order to have any chance of saving this season. Milan is not far from the 5th place position, so they are in realistic statistical reach. However, my prediction is that Milan will not sell Theo right now this January, and therefore I predict they will continue to rack up unnecessary losses and ties (from even more goals conceded by Theo), thus continuing a downward spiral. (4) I finally found a guy on YT, an Italian by the ID of "salvocampoli," who is as adamant about Theo as I am. In another YT channel, some guy posted the following with regard to Theo after today's game against Juventus (translated to English): "And just a bad moment don't give up you are the best in the world." Salvocampoli retorts (translated to English), "A bad time? For 2 years he has been a faded copy of the real thing, (??), Theo HernandeZ. He's been getting worse game after game month after month for 2 years until this season where he's not only mediocre, he's become downright poor. Up to now with his direct errors he has already made us concede 7 goals, not only this there is also the fact that now even in attack he is no longer worth anything (apart from when he plays with Venezia and Lecce). Salvocampoli and I agree completely, and we are not biased in the least. This is the easiest analysis in all of pro football.

Tomori played just 7 minutes in the past three months.
Given the lack of game time, he was just as rusty as Bennacer.
That said, his performance was stellar.
Gabbia gets props for the last block, but I think too many fans praise him way too easily purely because he's (a) Italian, and (b) Milan-trained.
Never see anyone call him out for his mistakes, like him being in No-Mans land against Roma (Fofana was defending the Right wing when the ball came in, Thiaw was following Dovbyk, Gabbia was in the middle of nowhere when he should have been marking Dybala).

Your take on Locatelli at the start made me do a spit-take 😂.
That aside, this was clearly a game of two halves. The first half showcased a Milan that we’d been used to seeing since last season to date - whereas the second half showcased football in the image of Conceição. Compact defensively in a dynamic block, vertical and faster on the front foot. Great effort on short notice 👏.
Big test on Monday. Forza Milan!

To me, the best couple of CBs is still Gabbia/Thiaw. However, both Tomori and Pavlovic have different characteristics (Pavlovic more aggressive marking, Tomori more speed) so it's a good idea to still keep them involved and play them when there is the right combination with the opposition skills.
Theo must go. I don't think he has anything left to give to Milan.

Thiaw does well with slow weak strikers like valhovic and Val should've still had a goal and at 2-0 that's a dif game for Milan. The hard fought win is a good sign as a team but against inter will be a real test. Thuram is the player thiaw struggles with the most, so we'll see. To be fair, benny not only has to get back into playing shape ALSO the team has chabged in style and personnel AND a coach a bunch so forgive him if he seems out of sorts rn lol. If Benny can get back into form and if tomori really can find his form again, we'll be back in business for sure. Forza Milan.

Fair to say Pulisic was quiet the first half but let's be honest, even with the win... Milan has a player issue, not a coach issue. He ran his ass off and the service and midfield just didn't get together and Milan as a whole lacked an Idea going forward. Fofana had his random game where he just wasn't finding passes and Reijnders had a meh half as well. Add Benecer being loose with the ball and I don't think we can be to hard on the front three going forward. Theo needs to get his head out of his ass.

So nobody is going to talk about how Bennacer is playing awful, slows the game down and does amateur mistakes? The minute he got subbed we started playing more offensively… And the fact is we need Tiji in that position. Tiji is 10 times better playmaker than anybody we have. His vision and passing ability is second to none in this team, and he has a bomb of a shot from long range.
Pulisic is also not good in no.10 position, so obviously we need number 10 and good stiker. I love Moratas passion and effort, but he is not the one. Get Zirkzee, Olmo 😂😂😂 and bring Kalulu and Saelemaekers back, we should be good

Tbh, Milan was AWFUL in this match. Juve should have won, although Im glad we won to try even all those loses to Inter for the past 2 years. But the biggest problem is our attack. We cannot make a chance if their lifes depended on it. Hope for best on Monday.

The defense is the clear problem other than Maignan.

Theos man just... missed a sitter and another game with another fault on a goal... we should go after Antonee Robison, he's a better version of Theo right now and is like for like

Also can we discuss hos useless Bennecer is in the field... dude is small as shit and let's balls drop in danger zones. How anyone thought he was good in the first half is wild.

You should give a Green Box to McKennie for keeping Pulisic in his pocket for 71 minutes 😉

About Theo - Conceiçião said "players who can only play one way won't do well". If Theo is only good when Leao is on the field, or vice versa, they'll have problems with this coach.

Should give him the man of the match award, oh wait that belonged to Pulisic.

I don't understand how anyone could watch this game and think Bennacer was our best player. He was complete garbage and things immediately got better once he was subbed out.
