Another great video, Roy! 👍 On your recommendation, I have just bought the Vulcan 'slim heated' gloves. I have tried them on a very chilly 3°C, 2 hour ride.🥶and I am very impressed!😊 The slim version gives me the option of using them under another pair of gloves/mittens, for extra warmth if needed. Like those you tested in this video, I found the slim version very comfortable and lightweight. I tried them without an overglove and they never felt cold or too warm and sweaty. Being lightweight and having good palm grips, they gave great feel when operating gears and brakes. The batteries just lasted the 2 hour ride, which is normally fine for my winter rides. I might ask John if he can supply a spare set as they are compact and easily carried in a back pocket. Thank you for your recommendation and very best wishes for Christmas and New Year 🌲🥳
@@malcolmturner7027 thank you, Malc, and also for your great support with advice and recommendations. We also wish you a very happy Christmas and 2025.
Have to say Vulcan products are excellent, as I have the socks and gloves. The customer service from John is first class, and he reply’s to any problems quickly.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t my experience. I contacted him to ask a question about the heating element in the gloves, but never received a reply. Consequently, no purchase made.
@@RideWithRoy the frustrating thing was, I had spent some time researching and comparing the various products available on the website, and was ready to place my order!
@@MrAnon-2024 that's very much not my experience. I emailed a query late last night regarding sizing (and noting that the discount code had expired) - got a response this morning (Saturday) by 7.30 with a recommendation and discount code renewed!
Thanks Roy for your interesting videos. I would like to purchase the heated insoles and these gloves, but I would like to know if the bateries will last at least a few years...given they are a bit expensive. Have you been using any of the Vulcan products for a long time?
@@neusbiosca yes, I used the original gloves, insoles and socks all last winter. I found I didn’t need both the insoles and socks at the same time, so the insoles are a good plan. If you’ve seen my original review you’ll see they are operated with a remote control, which is useful. As far as batteries are concerned, they do use high quality cells. However, the main cause of battery failures with any seasonally used batteries is leaving them all summer without checking. I make a diary reminder to give mine a small charge to wake them up in the summer. John, the owner, is a very genuine man and will always look after his customers. If you are unsure, it would be worth giving him a call for a chat.

@@RideWithRoyok, thanks for your reply👌🤗
Haven’t tried those but a fan of Hestra gloves, not sure they have a model for cycling.
@@millmoormichael6630 thanks. The Vulcan gloves aren’t cycling specific either.
