Though cool, pure Traptrix is still better than this version in my opinion since this dies easily to Nibiru and Droll. Also only being able to play 3-6 handtraps due to tight deck space means going second will suck hard. I'll still pick up the Raika cards though just to have fun with it.
I think this is more consistent than playing pure with hand traps, but you're correct. It does lose to more hand traps. I think Raika engine will be relevant at some point tho because it turns plant decks into combo machines. It just so happens Combo Decks are not good against Snake eyes unfortunately
Its a very high rolling version of traptrix. While I don't like it, Yugioh is basically a game of blowouts so I understand why you would want to high roll. What traptrix really needs is a way to go 2nd since all the traps are mostly dead going 2nd.

Lab doesn't suffer nearly as hard going second because by the time they get their turn 1, they already had their traps set on their turn 0. The only other way I can think of is if they had more traps that can be activated from hand like imperm or evenly. Unfortunately you wouldn't have Sera up since its not even your turn yet, but its better than nothing I guess?
Someone beat me with this deck in EDOpro a few months back and immediately i went to buy a whole traptrix deck so i have it when Raika card release. Can't wait, ty for indepth tutorial on how to use them!
Personally I love to play cattycorn on my traptrix deck. When I tribute strenna with jasmine I summon cattycorn and add the field spell, then I can normal summon the Dionea added by Strenna and put another xyz on the field (with the normal summon of Dionea you can special summon a traptrix monster from the graveyard and do the xyz with these 2 monsters). When you play Jasmine and Strenna on your extra I think that is a really good card to add to the decklist.
it would have been good if you showed a combo with that continuous spell since there are 3 in the deck and you're gonna draw a lot of them. also i'm not sure if this is gonna be great. going first traptrix has never had problems, it's just bad going second but the raika engine doesn't provide much for that. it just takes space from going second cards.
I understand why people think that. But you will lose most games going second with Traptrix whether or not you play Raika. The way I see it, it's better to guarantee that you always win going first
We should find a way to summon Rafflesia in 4th or 5th summon in the combo to counter Nibiru by using Refflesia's copy effect to copy a trap that counters monster effects like gravedigger

If you play parallel exceed, you can special it when linking into sera and then go into rafflesia which is 5th summon, and you just hope you don't draw gravediggers, because when nibiru activates you can chain rafflesia and send gravediggers from deck to negate it, so basically you need a way to summon rafflesia before 5th summon
Yes great question! You can still combo with Myrmelo + Any Trap, but the board is slightly weaker because you opened one less monster. Basically Myrmeleo will search Holetuea. Then once you do normal Sera Plays you should have Sera + 2 monsters. Use the 2 monsters to Xyz summon Pinguicula. Ping searches Arachnocampa. Link summon Jasmine using Sera + Ping. Jasmine tribute Arachnocampa to summon Raika engine from deck and you get going. However if you open Myrmeleo + Any Trap + Field Spell the combo is way better. That's why I play 2x field spell
Myrmeleo must activate on summon to destroy a Spell/Trap, even if there's none to destroy. Also, since a Traptrix monster activated it's effect, this triggers Sera to set a trap
I play traptrix because I want to say you triggered my trap card. If you want to play wambo combo, IMHO there are better ways to do it. I guess we will see if this becomes standard traptrix from now on or if pure will still hold out.
If you use parallel exceed you can't use the effects of the esqueleton soldier (Unlike other Raikas, his effects works like branded fusion, so is the entire turn, and the restriction is on both effects).
Most Decks currently aren't running evenly in Main Deck, as far as I know. That means game 2 or 3 you side in crossout and evenly to cover your weakness

Traptrix doesn't want to go second in the first place. That said evenly is in the side along with dark ruler no more. Swap 2 of the evenly for a imperm and Aracho and you will probably be fine. Let's be real if you are forced to ash in traptrix you're going to lose anyway.

Because drawing too many had traps kills the deck going first is GG. Because you know your opponent will not let you go first after seeing you are playing traptrix. At least evenly and imperm can be used as discards but droll&shifter are a definite no go unless I know I am going second. Ash gets a pass just because of how flexible the card is but no more that 2. Because getting 3 cards you need in five cards is rough enough without handtraps.
@@pkkiller_apathy4568 maybe in pure, with this varient, any of the 6 raika starters makes a decent board. You can end on the raika board, just make serra and feel fine with a few hand traps, after all, the raika cards end on a normal trap, so you can still search pudica for an extra interrupt.
Posting combo videos without posting the decklist or doing a review that is more than us having to pause it and try to make out what card is what is a real half-assed way to do these

On combo #3 you could summon Rafflesia as 5. summon to be nibiru proof and end with the same board.

Raika in traptrix is win more. You have less going second and you make your going first bettery making your deck more dicey.
