Another Egyptian fact you forgot with Osiris body parts were thrown into a river. Like how Weevil threw the cards overboard
Great catch.
sorry, throwing your cards in water was biblically accurate
Interesting
....Also people are cosplaying as his wife by substituting his missing D.
He mentions this only three minutes into the video.
Aah! Exodia! It's not possible! No one's ever been able to make a video about him!
He alway did once
@@reggielacey2235 I know. I'm just making a joke.
Except that one time!!
Pre-comment:
Delete the last pathetic video from your grandpa’s archive, Yugi!
My grandpa’s archive has no pathetic videos - but it does contain the video of the archetype of exodia!
@@reggielacey2235Wooosh.
Fun fact:
Exodia Necross ,and it still being a spellcaster rather than a zombie, could be in reference to the fact that after his body is reassembled Osiris "dies" and descends into the Underworld to rule it. However, its not really a traditional death, he's still a god, he just can't leave his new domain.
Hence, Necross looking like an undead creature, but not actually being one and it blowing up if any of its pieces leave the GY
That's an amazing concept. "Even in death, I am still a God." So cool!
It's Horus that leaves to rule the Underworld.
“But it does contain the unstoppable Exodia!”
Probably one of the most Iconic anime moments of all time
Honestly, I like to think that all the versions of Exodia we see are the same one. Like, even when he's bound and sealed Exodia is so powerfull that he's basically immortal. Like an eldritch god summoning different avatars of himself to the physical plane, refusing to fade from memory.
Crackpot theory there all connected but by diverting timelines
Exodus is the start of the timeline then divergent happens
Sealed timeline=original exodia
Defender timeline where he sealed but released forever= the ultimate defender to exod
Death timeline he somehow killed=exodia necrose to incarnate to phantom incarnate or necrose is the end of exodia no matter the timeline
So.... Like Darkseid from DC?
He was known as the "Illusionary God" in Season 0
So what your saying is
Exodia is the sephiroth of Yu-Gi-Oh
@@roninwarriorsfanmore like dc’s Santa
Soguoku Muto: Exodia!? That’s one of the most powerful cards in duel monsters! Wait, I have those cards…! Or at least I used to…
why do I picture Solomon doing the same body animation as Timmy's father in Fairly Odd Parents hearing this😂
@One_LuvZ And this is where I'd put a trophy... IF I HAD ONE!
Whoops, lost the happy, but the happys back.
@@One_LuvZ
“And this is where I keep my prized Exodia pieces. IF I STILL HAD THEM!!!!”
The fusion exodia gaining attack to the life points is reference to how solomon mouto powering his exodia against zorc and the 1000 Life coast is reference to solomon mouto paying his life to Power to keep exodia
It’s neat seeing the evolution of his video by looking at the old version the audio was already pretty good but he sounds more confident here
Thanks :D
@@TGSAnime out of curiosity, how far along is the Number Archetype video?
@@roninwarriorsfan2 weeks
@@TGSAnime I like the name of the archetype you dubbed as millennium archetype.
@@TGSAnime I noticed you made a verbal error at 7:21
I’ve noticed that out of all the duelists who played the Exodia cards, Yugi’s the only one who got him out as intended. The Rare Hunter Seeker cheated, Gozoboru didn’t try and use his effect, Marcel/Yubel tried to use a trap to add the last piece to the hand (considering how little traps are used in modern Yugioh, that card could easily be made IRL), and Adrian used Exodius and tried to use Fog Castle and other similar methods. I wonder if they’ll add Exodia to Rush Duels in any way/shape/form?
I know people want unedited stuff but ngl Spell Binding circle being the background for Exodia is so much better
Fun fact about the fusion. It doesn't mention "original" or "lose" with the attack gain. So let's say you summon it first turn, 8000 attack. If you opponent didn't do anything, but somehow survived. Your next turn it would GAIN 7000 ADDITIONAL Attack. So 15,000 attack. Pretty nutty
Jesus
Combine this woth ghost sister and dogwood so either they do nothing and you get a free otk.
or
Increase your LP by an unholy amount depending on what they're playing
The ocean can't compeat with that
@@liamlovering3574the card is called Ghost Sister & Spooky Dogwood
Exodia the Legendary Defender MAY have been first introduced to some of us through a scripted duel voiced by the VAs. That's how I first saw it, and I just enjoy EVERY scripted duel because they're meant to be fun.
Really, what duel was it?
@@bigfish5544It was one of the Yugi vs Kaiba duels.
The strange limitations amd specifity of Exxod may be due to it being a representation of Exodia under the control of Shimon Muran. One hint is its name having the title of "Master of the Guard. Shimon was basically the head of national security. He was the pharoah advisor, designor of the royal tombs woth special emphasis on anti graverobber and the head of the royal army. His lifes goals were protecring the pharoah and the country under him. It was strictly a defensive postion. This may explain why he is a rock guard woth so many strange ties to egyptian culture like the spynxes and has nearly no ATK in place of high defence. The sphynx also have effects that drive away potential invaders more than dominating power. Games and tricks that protect thats important to him are a very Grandpa/Shimon thing. Depsite being masters of their craft at one point though..niether keep the raw power deserving of the king of games title..and at least for the Grandpa version, for good reason! In the flashback intro of millenium world, we get to see the origins of the puzzles ownership by him and what a badass GPa used to be. He at one point makes the off comment that of a woman ver beat him in a game or puzzle, hed trad in his suit and carnation for overalls and a game store to settle down. This only implies on thing..Yugis offscreen granny WAS this master of games. A lost piece thanks to cencorship is also revealed in the season zero part of the manga where Tristin is crushing on a girl in their class but doesn't know how to tell her. Yugi's grandpa suggests a blank jigsaw puzzel. He reveals that you write a romantic message on it, mess it up when they solve the gift, they find the surprize! This is how Yugi's grandpa sucessfully proposed before hangin up his competative gaming fedora..but it didnt work out too well for Tristin whow as rejected..
Exxod would have to be a representation of the idea that you suggested, but not the actual idea carried out. The Legendary Defender would be the Exodia that Shimon summoned as his card art depicts him breaking out of his chains. For some reason he's blue and can only insta-win if he attacks a Fiend monster which is also weird since he lost against Zorc, a Fiend monster. Unstoppable Incarnate is what Exodia should have been, had anyone else had summoned him or if Shimon wasn't a goofy, weak old man. Like there;s differences between the real life card game and the card game in the anime, there were differences between how things worked in the modern anime world, and the ancient Egyptian anime time period. When they're 5000 years into Egypts past, monsters are summoned and their strength is determined by the duelists willpower and lifeforce. Given all of the lore we know about Exodia in both the real life game and the anime lore, he should have easily stomped Zorc. This is why he didn't, because Shimon was too weak. In the real life card game, Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate perfectly mimics this by draining you of 1000 LP each of your turns, while permanently gaining ATK points equal to your remaining LP every time it attacks. So in his fight with Zorc, Exodia was getting stronger the longer the fight went on, but Shimon couldn't last.
2:40 correction the original seal isnt a HEXagram that would be 6 points like the star of david for example, a 5 pointed star is usually a PENTAgram which is often associated with the devil
The shade thrown at the girlfriend sacrificing and then still losing the duel LOL
That excavation crew was onto something. Found something lost to time, and exodia I guess
But seriously though, that bit was cool
Agreed, I loved that. xD
as a regular viewer of this channel i DID NOT expect my recent video to be used in this! freaking love you dude haha
No worries!
And congrats on doing it! I tried to do that win con myself but I kept messing up.
All the best to you too 😁
@@TGSAnime thanks! yeah it's very specific, i had that deck set up with Lair of Darkness and DNA Surgery but the hand-test AI luckily had a dark fiend (kozaky) and i used pot of prosperity to cut the damage down (the wincon is at the end of the damage step, so you can still technically win by reducing the opponent to 0 LP before you trigger it)
0:45 and ever since than Kaiba has never been the same
Exodia! OBLITERATE!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I'm so glad Exodia is getting more support than ever
Edit: I'm hoping "Break the Seal" gets printed in OCG someday in the next -Animation Chronicle- pack and now it has arrived in Rage of the Abyss pack!
I want them to make ritual of the ultimate forbidden lord in an animation chronicle set as a way to give exodius its anime abilities and a 2 piece head start
@@mr2oxking Agreed
I was always mad that Exodia never really got any support beyond the instant win strategy. This new archetype and multiple support cards they've released are cool tho, basically everything I wanted from an Exodia focused archetype
10:03 What is the game's name?
@@ЯрославЧервяков-ф9в Yugioh Master Duel app game
19:20 The chance of drawing all 5 pieces of Exodia in the first five cards out of a 40 card deck is 1/658008, if there is 1 of each piece, as there is (5/40 * 4/39 * 3/38 * 2/37 * 1/36 = 1.52*10^-6 or 0.000152%).
Odds of drawing when going second
Exodia is probably the most iconic "You win the duel" mechanic of all time
Easily the most iconic. He was the 1st alternate win condition and has had tons of different FTK strategies
Exodia is so iconic that people who don’t play Yugioh probably associate the game more with Exodia than any other card/set of cards, with maybe the exception of BEWD
it also the only one that allows a 0 turn kill
Exodia is so legendary in Yugioh. Would have been great to see Atem or Yugi use him 1 more time after episode 1.
The animation for Exodia never gets old!!!😎 But any chance you could do the Dragunity archetype one of these days because they are my favorite archetype to play with! Thank you and have a good day!
Kind of interesting that Exodia is based on Osiris, yet there is no equivalent to Set in the game. Would've been cool to have it be revealed in Lore atleast that Exodia was ultimately cut apart and sealed by a similar creature to Set.
technically there is, it’s kaiba man based off of seto kaiba whose name is a reference to set himself
The main rival is literally named SETo. And he's known for being Jealous of the dude who summoned exodia on him
19:15 lol my buddy use to run exodia in his deck back in high school. I only saw him win one duel ever and it was an opening hand Exodia win.!! 😂
Meanwhile there's probably some mermaid down in Atlantis absolutely dominating their locals with these cards they found at the bottom on the sea
Exxod should have been the boss monster of Anubis in the Pyramid of Light movie. For one, it looks a lot more iconic than Theinen the Great Sphinx. Also, Exxod not being related to the other Exodia monsters would be a nice parallel to how the Pyramid of Light movie is non-canon to the anime.
The "Incarnate" Exodia monsters I always see as Exodia making enraged manifestions that gets more and more powerful as The Seal of the Forbidden One gets weaker and enventually breaks. On another note, I really like Exodius for his effect and how it worked pretty good for an old Gemini deck I built. Using his effect to throw a Gemini out, which was treated a Normal and using Gemini monsters from my field and hand to summon other monsters that fed Exodius's attack power After his summon.
Imagine in the last arc Blue-Eyes was fused with Exodia instead. A whitened, rejunated Exodia which is now a Light Attribute spellcaster uses Kisara's power to defeat Zorc.
Okay, but that Exodia, the Legendary Guardian kill screen is honestly sick as hell
Yugi, owning the five cards that are the one unstoppable monster in yugioh (doubtful there, grandpa muto, doubtful but semantics)
A dude called Inscector Haga/Weevil Underwood (i mean...not since Grima Wormtongue has there been any on the nose name): "can I see your super rare unstoppable cards?"
Yugi, naive as he is, "sure here you go"

I would some Cthulhu themed exodia to reference the cards being lost to sea as in a what if exodia was sealed in the ocean
Exodia the forgotten one
Atk=4000 def=4000
Summoning condition:can not be normal or special summoned must have every piece of exodia to be banished to summon it
For every turn it can chose to be immune to either monster effects, traps, spells,or battle damage
It can banish any monster on your side of your field if you do so all monsters on the enemy side are banish for that turn
Any banish water monsters increase his attack and def by 500
When this card is destroyed it banish instead of heading to the graveyard with all cards that been banished in your side are reshuffled to your deck
I'd love that too! I bet he'd also love to finish some unfinished business he had with Weevil!
Yeah they need to add more the entities archetype
Exodia The Great Old One

21:26 -All of those are upgrades or retrians of old cards from the early set actually! Very likely from Grandpa/Yugi's deck at the start of the series.

A star walks into a black hole but doesn't seen phased. The black hole then turns to the star and says, "I don't think you understand the gravity of this situation."
I would literally build a true exodia deck PURELY to see how fast I can make my opponent win. I will take the satisfaction away from winning
Aka Kaiba's Paralysis demon
I'm so glad that you implemented that hilarious skit in this 2.0 version video of the Exodia/Millennium Archetype, it wouldn't have been the same without it

All we need now is an Exodia Match winner and Xyz monster…
Why not both in 1?
_Exodia the Xyz-aulted One_ (DARK)
Rank 3
Spellcaster/Xyz/Effect
5 Level 3 monsters

I like to add restrictions to this which: cannot be special summoned, when this card is xyz summoned, all face-up card you control must be sent back into your deck and for 2 turns you cannot activate any card effect (monster, spell or trap) except this card.
@@abrahamwijaya6631 maybe also add a benefit to the opponent. "When this card is summoned, your opponent draws 3 cards." A monster this overpowered would be completely broken and giving the opponent more cards would help to balance it.

Quote from Yu-Gi-Oh abridge “My grandpa‘s deck doesn’t have pathetic cards except for kuriboh but it does contain this”
The Exxod, Master of the Guard is a reference to a Budda God that basically kept many people safe around the worst situations but at a cost that destructions still happens around them. (Think of it like a Earthquake as you will but due to you praying to this God you are forever safe)
No. Exxod is the fully selead version of Exodia.
If you are confused why the one is called Exodia but the other one is called Exxod just hear:
The name of that big monster the 5 pieced is NOT Exodia. Exo-Dia means something to get out and to win. Which makes sense because „Exodia“ wins you the game if you get him out. Exxod is the opposite which the end of the name „xod“ (something closed) shows. So Exxod and Exodia means the condition of our big yellow winning friend.
@@valdelamer I'm referring to the art because it's a Budda Position, and a God if you go with the gesture of the hands.
10:00 someone went out of their way to make a winning animation for a random Exodia card Jesus that is some commitment
No the ones from battle city are real but yugi ripps them up because they where covered in special invisible ink so the rare hunter could cheat.
And much like Crystal Beasts, you could use Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder as a high attack support monster as the Millennium monsters can be placed as Continuous Spell cards.
You could, but he's a minus 3 for a 4000 atk monster with no protection against anything

Episode 1 will forever be the Goated of Goated Episodes simply because its faith against evil. Get chills everytime Yami draws the head of Exodia!
I love the lore of the new archetype with some of those monsters, specifically the fact that one of them is a direct retrain of Sengenjin, the only Ritual monster (afaik) whose card text specifies that he wields millenium items. Such a cool card and I'm glad he got a retrain!
I assume the main reason for him being sealed away was that he was powerful, but that power despite being used to protect the Pharaoh, would destroy everything around him, making him too dangerous to be allowed to freely roam.
Pro tip, if you use exodia the legendary defender along with I think Lair of darkness (forgot the exact name but it changes all monsters to dark and has some other effects that I forgot), you can easily use the effect of destroying a dark monster to win instantly
I love that yugioh has something like this, a card that wins once you draw all 5 cards. its just such a cool idea even if its bad in todays meta
My comments late for the videos appearance (cut to chase, love your videos my man. You’ve got the passion of a duelist and you’re a nerd/geek, like us, I play locals in my area.)
But I have something I wanted to bring to your attention. Rewatching 5Ds and I just hit a “plot twist” moment. Stick with me for a sec but I think it’s important!! So I hit S1Ep32 of 5Ds and Jack Atlas spilled the beans on Yusei being born in New Domino. Issue being, there hasn’t been one reference to Jack about Yusei being born there but he mentions that he, himself, was born there. Watch the bit around 16:30 going forward on that specific episode. But still. Not one of those people to find an error but figured it’s big enough that it should be mentioned
I’ve been waiting for this video!! Exodia is my favourite yugioh monster
Sengenjin, Millenium Shield, Millennium Golem, Lamoon and Fiend's Reflection 2 all got retrained, which i find cool
I love the bully maguire version of the exodia scene...."how'd that get in there?" 😂😂
"Draw your last pathetic card...."
Yugi: ...with this treasure.....I SUMMON....
Exodius is my favorite version by far, I loved to rewatch his duels back as a child. I hope we receive a TCG version from his spell that makes that card usable
I used to run an Exodia deck with 3 Incarnates and 3 Obliterates, as well as other cards to help get Incarnate and Obliterate into my hand and out on the field, as well as Royal Decree to protect Obliterate. If I managed to get all three of both out, I could basically control the opponent's field, while milling my deck for the Exodia pieces. I would usually either win from having multiple powerful Incarnates destroying my opponents, or from the Exodia instant win condition. Pretty cool that they now have an actual Archetype to support them, as well as a fusion monster.
Could you share a list of your deck ?
@@alaric12 Sadly, I can't. This was years ago built digitally on programs like YGOPro, back during the age of Syncrho and Xzys. I stopped playing once Link summons came out and every deck was basically a OTK deck where you needed to have hand traps to even make any sort of play. So I lost the data on the deck. What I do remember of it was it used cards like Maxx C to mill the deck for Exodia pieces as well as Incarnate and Obliterate. The plan was to work on getting as many Incarnates and Obliterates on the field as I could, then use Obliterate to stall my opponent, while sending my Exodia pieces to the graveyard for Incarnate, either to power him up, or get Exodia into my hand, while also having a trap card (can't remember the name of it) that prevented people from removing the Obliterates from the field.
As soon as I saw Exodo Blaze, I started wracking my brain to figure out a non-S/T way to bounce all backrow to the hand to get instant Exodia in hand lol
Love your archetype videos do you think you’ll ever do one on pendulum magicians? (Kachow)
Fun fact: the fusion gains attack to your LP permanent. Using “diffusion wavemotion” attacking a full board, this card will have around 35.000 ATK on the last attack, which will stay permanently lol
The boost is only once per turn.
Funny story when I was battle city as a kid and when I saw obelisk I thought that it was exodia reincarnated I thought kaiba was going to best yugi the same way he beat him in season1 plus one of the art work for obelisk kinda made him look like exodia
The cards that support millennium cross are retrains of cards that Simon ran in forbidden memories.
Oh my god the original Sam exodia findings, I remember that from YEARS ago holy hell.
6:20 What's funny is you can actually see a second copy of an Exodia piece during Duelist Kingdom, but only briefly. While on the ship and before going outside with Weevil, you can see someone holding onto one of Exodia's legs. Idk if it's just a dub thing, but I thought I'd bring it up cause you didn't.
The exodia pieces are rare but even if you had five it still hard to summon him especially during that era
Ahem , EXODIA ......... OBLITERATE
So, with this, will we expect a Gozaburo vs Seto analysis?

He already did that (it's in my playlist)
the greatest thing about Exodia is all of the wacky things people will do to get those extra draws
personal favorite being someone summoning bistro butcher on his opponents side of the field and constantly crashing into it for draw 2s
I love how the anime has people summon monster then behind is just exodia causally standing there as if the other monsters were needed
2:49 Real life lore inspiration of Exodia (and kinda explaining why Atem got Osiris/Slifer)
9:55 Which is that simulator that it even give Exodia the Legendary Defender a Win Condition?
13:33 Bizarro Exodia
most people dont know that Exodia was the first ever errata as its original effect only required all pieces to have been drawn and didnt require them to be in the hand
All the Exodia cards are badass in my eyes
Oh, Shiman was Simon from the video games. The blue guy who was called Paradox in the Gameboy games. Im guessing they always wanted Solomon's ancestor to be Shiman, but it wasnt set in stone how it would play out
After all, Simon also runs Exodia AND is the secret duelist if you beat Solomon 3 times in a row near the end of World Championship 2004 (that trainwreck, yes)
"Among the Heavens and the Earth, I alone am the Forbidden One."
If it's not too much trouble, could you possibly make an Archetype video for Madolche? Your Archetype videos are really fun to watch, so I'm curious as to how you'd do Madolche.
Ah yes, Exodia the original limited card.
Amazing! Love to see that you made an Exodia video.
It is neat to see more consistency support for Exodia.
There is no excuse as to why Exodia Necross doesn't have its anime effects either as a retrained version or a support spell/trap card to give it those effects, especially with modern Yu-Gi-Oh there is no excuse. It's not that broken of an effect especially when there are many ways to remove or banish cards from the grave or even negate effects of monsters that have an immunity effect in their text. Kiaba latterly showed how to beat this card in the same duel; that was before we got better, negate effect monsters, extra deck monsters, spells, and traps.
Nice video, just one thought I had while watching: You mentioned that Weevil had no clue how to counter Exodia. That got me thinking: Isn't the insect type pretty famous for milling? Wouldn't needle worm, and any other mill and discard effects make Exodia pretty useless as you need all 5 pieces? Weren't these cards out yet or is Weevil just such a bad player?
Also on Exxod: Maybe that's just the empty shell of Exodia after it's power was sealed away?
19:26 if you draw either sangan or witch of the black forest on your first turn with 4 exodia pieces set the monster and when they attack you win
Well done video.
Though, I would have used the version of Yugi calling Exodia's attack "Exodia: Hellfire's Rage Exodo Flame!"
Break the Seal is real now
I have a friend where every time he faces a deck with every exodia piece in it he gets ZTKed, we have to put the pieces on the friend banlist
Sweet, more exodia support. I think another deck analysis could we possibly see is raidraptors with there recent new support, and maybe galaxy eyes with there new support cards
Even though he lost, I still think we should praise him for immediately right-hooking the literal embodiment of darkness himself after being asked “wtf you gonna do about it?”
I just realized. With the Exception of Yugi, I think Kiba goes on to defeat everyone he ever lost to throughout the course of the series. Maybe I’m misremembering. But like in the Waking the Dragons arc he goes on to battle a fake Pegasus. So maybe the anime went out of its way to show that he was improving alongside Yugi.
I know it’s non-canon but Kaiba did wreck Pegasus in the Pyramid of Light movie
Weevil became the Seth to Yugi's Osiris

Exodia decks are quite possibly the most popular decks since everyone has one saved in their deck collection.
I always liked it having the spell binding circle over just a star
2:56 Osiris's sky dragon (Slifer's pet dragon): damn you 4kids!
Gotta admit, the Egyptian banlist skit got me
Love the video. I've always thought Exodia was goated. fun fact: exodo blaze doesn't work with legendary exodia incarnate because its unaffected by all card effects
The Milennium retrain monsters aren't just Grandpa Muto's old cards but also Simon from the game Duelist of the Rose
Ah memories. When the exodia 5 card monster came out i ended up getting all 5 prety quick. But when we played dnd our dm incorporated him into the game and our mission was to bring him back together to restore balance
