@@FrankJames Your test result mainly reveals 92% turbulence (high neuroticism). This isn't considered a "bad" trait by the way, it depends on how it's being used. Just wanted to mention that, hoping you're not offended lmao
Otherwise I think you shouldn't take your result too seriously (not even the 74% sensing, although it may indicate something). It's very difficult to isolate a personality trait with a questionnaire. Some would argue it's impossible. And then there's the bias of the personal perspective, too.

I'm fairly sure I'm an INFP (I mean, I took a function-based test and got ENFJ which was an, uh, curveball, so jury's still out on INFP) so I guess it had a higher accuracy for me than most people.

I had to take the test in high school for my psychology class. I had never heard of Myers-Briggs. It was a looooooooong test. It took most of the class period to finish. I got INFJ. I remember we got the results the day after we took the test since our teacher had to score them. When we got the results, we had to pair up with our personality type in the class to do a report. Guess who didn't have a partner. Luckily, a friend in class was in-between INFJ and INTJ, so the teacher let him pick. He didn't want to do the report by himself (there weren't any other INTJs in the class either), so he did the report with me.

It’s confusing how there are so many intuitives even though they’re considered uncommon, meanwhile sensors are rare and it’s because in the test people tend to choose the socially acceptable answer because the test made it sound like “hey you’re either open minded or close minded”

Yes, this test is badly constructed and violates some basic guidelines of proper psychological test theory. And he does a good job at picking apart why - because many people will still say "I can accurately guess what everyone else is thinking just by looking at them" but the truth is nobody can - if we were honest with ourselves some of these questions measure humility and realism more than anything else.

It's one of the reasons we are so confused. When we have a bad day and are like doing out best to make sure everyone notices it - usually the most we muster elicits an 'are you ok? You seem tired..' no, I'm sick and/or angry and I want to go home now.

that's a good question, and it may be. Info update: You are correct. According to this book in my hands from 1998, the feeling types are described as empathetic and the thinking types as logical. The two are not mutually exclusive so I don't understand why they are on a scale like this. This doesn't make sense to me as an INTP who scores very high on empathy in other tests (I don't display it though). It's plain intimidating what employers do with these personality tests. They could be used to either accommodate or manipulate and in some cases are quite misleading.

For example in the 'decline an opportunity for another in need' question, that was not a full disagree as I suspect he clicked, that was a middle agree, because he already said "yes, if is a close one".

I don't have any issue accepting this (and honestly I would have an easier life having a more common personality), I don't go out of my way to find people or seek information to confirm the personality that I want to have. I fit ALL the characteristics of an INTJ-A, as well as the cognitive functions, and I accept this. Just be honest, shoot from the hip, and accept yourself.

    • @cantin8697
      @cantin8697 3 роки тому +1

This test doesn't use the actual MBTI theory. And obviously this is a problem. You can't use a completely different theory, then convert the results into MBTI like 16personalities does, then pretend this weird combination of theories is MBTI. This site's methodology is misleading, and is causing people to have a completely wrong idea of MBTI which they'll have to unlearn if they want to talk to anyone outside of their community about the actual theory. And they need to unlearn the way the read types, especially with introversion/extroversion. No clue why how sociable you are is in the 16personalities theory! In reality, any type can be socially introverted, and any type can be socially extroverted! The introversion/extroversion in MBTI simply describes the person's dominant function.
Another problem with tests as a whole is they rely a lot on your past behaviour.
Different personalities may do the same behaviour but for different reasons! For example, using 16personalities' system because it's their statement, something like "You would pass up a good opportunity if you knew someone else needed it more". Someone may do this because they believe it's morally right (regardless of whether they feel anything for the person). Someone may do this because they emotionally feel for the other person. Someone may do this because they want to seem good to others. If the person's in their family, they may give them the opportunity because they strongly believe in the importance of family. Someone may do this due to religion and believing in Jesus' teachings or something, and not actually due to personality at all. And I'm sure there's other reasons. But regardless of the reason, their answer indicates them having the empathetic "F" type. I don't think it's sensible to generalise all these attitudes into "Feeling" purely because of the outcome.
While studying functions, you can look at the reasons rather than just the behaviour itself. The reasons for your behaviour say way more about you psychologically than the actual behaviour.
Good for you that your results are the same with both 16personalities and functions, but you can't assume it's the fault of the individual when they get completely different results from completely different theories!

I don’t know- I feel like with every question it depends. It depends on who your with, setting, mood. For example the question, “you usually stay calm, even under a lot of pressure” I feel like it really just depends on the situation- like if I’m at school, at home, the people I’m with, the severity of the situation, and what the situation even is? Like if it’s an oral exam vs pressure to do something by a peer those are completely different. Maybe it’s just me having different people I “play” in different scenarios but I find questions really hard bc do I press my gut instinct or do I endlessly compare the question to every event that has happened in my life, LOL.

Okay this makes me feel better. I took one of the 16 personality quiz. I had gotten the results of INTP. I don't know what my personality type is but after learning about INTP a little bit I don't think it's this. It seems like the top qualities of someone with his personality is being highly intelligent and rather stoic. I don't believe myself to be either one of those. This test left me thinking that I am so stupid that I had somehow managed to fail a personality test. We have this personality test that we take at work and, I have some very interesting results. so this personality quiz goes by percentage of the personalities and this one is divided by four we used colors. My results are saying that I am almost split between two personalities that I feel are rather almost opposite. The first one being blue witch is rather in touch with emotion you know like being empathetic, not afraid to show emotion, being affectionate, spontaneous. The other one I had gotten is green this is what most people would describe as a detective type. What I mean about that is being rather inquisitive, noticing details about things, more on The logical side of thinking, constantly taking notes writing any little thought down. So looking at these results of getting an INTP I think well maybe I was really feeling my green personality when I had taken the quiz. I just feel that my two strongest personalities are in my opinion so different from one another that would be rather difficult to get accurate results on one of these quizzes. I think the most accurate personality quizzes have taken is the Hogwarts house giving me the results of Hufflepuff lol.

Frank, do you think a test made out of presenting a detailed situation and the solution/reaction one of the characters gave to it, then ask the "tested subject" wether that character was right, wrong or neutral could give a more accurate result?
I've been thinking: when we judge ourselves, we take "what will others think of me if I answer this" too much into consideration, sometimes even unconsciously.
But when judging others, people tend to use their own moral compass and put less or none focus on "what others will think of me if I say that about that person" (like we see everyday in any comment section on the internet), because they don't feel like they are being judged themselves.
Of course, there is still an error margin for different interpretations of the fuctions, different ages and stages of maturity and etc., but wouldn't it give a best understanting of how much each functions have influence over one's choice tendencies?

The way you answered the questions was deliberately wrong. You know you're supposed to answer the first thing that pops up to you intuitively and also scale it how much you agree and disagree...they way you Did it was like "let me take this out of context, pick it apart into pieces... completely destroy the meaning and then chose the most extreme opposite answer than what I know they meant. " Well...of course it doesn't work like that. But for most people, who just do it as it's meant, this work very well in my experience. Nothing is perfect 100%, but it's quite accurate.
But I guess you needed to make a video where you show your despise toward this test :) so in that case, good job. That's the only thing it showed.
