As somebody who dives and is around water a lot. I don't want to take anything expensive as its a tool, the casio duro, citizen and scurfa watches are probably the best analogue watches as they work well and are cheap enough to not care, I have lost multiple watches in the sea due to spring bar failures or strap failures.
I was wondering EXACTLY the same thing. Kudos to scurfa. By divers, for divers. Would definitely love to own and would proudly go tourist diving with it ✌🏼
I got one of those Invicta quartz dive watches. Really can't be mad at it for $35. Wouldn't take it 300ft into the ocean but for fishing and surfing it's fine.
Another interesting and very informative video. My $250 Seiko Divers 200 watch which I’ve had for almost 30 years continues to out perform most of my other watches. My Marathon GSAR is also very reliable.
For me I look for a dive watch with a high contrast face (white hands on a black or blue face), good lume’, fixed spring bars and worn on a NATO strap. My CWC diver hits all the buttons and has never let me down.
Excellent topic and selection. Well done Teddy! (although I was missing the Hydroconquest. That really could have been added here I think. The ultimate Desk-Diver)
right! ,most management, regarless of what they do ,are really morons, so , I tend to desk dive too, reason why i v got my hydroconquest ceramic automatic 39mm. nothing beats that desk diver.
I require a depth rating of at least 2 metres for our local swimming pool. Despite leaving my watch in the locker Ultra deep for me Or the GSG UX that might just about cut it
Teddy and team, Terrific educational video. My son received his Tissot Gentleman Ice Blue watch today. A truly great watch for under a $1,000.00. Thanks, Will and Jon for your superb customer service.
I would also love to point out the Christopher Ward super compressor! It's very unique in its field because it is actually a compressor watch, not just the style of case!
@anthonyhyba261 Yeah. The EPSA design was reverse engineered by CW. It has the little wire in the back. I used to own one and flipped it. My only criticism is the light blue and orange dial is sort of hard to wear.
May I proffer the proprietary SafeDive system of the IWC Aquatimer collection. These models boast an internal timing ring which is turned using an external bezel. Perfect.
I always loved the super-compressor dive watched and made the Longines Legend Diver as sort of an attainable grail watch. However while researching abit, here in the asian market i came across a very little talked about Orient called the King Diver while looks almost of a homage to the pre mentioned Longines. While many speaks highly of the Kamasu and Mako, I didnt know Orient made super-compressor, or super-compressor style watch. The King Diver is said to be a reproduction of a original super compressor model releaswd in 1965. And Being 1/10th the price where i live compared to my grail Longines, it is now in my humble collection as my daily.
Let's not forget Orient's pro saturation diver. I have a third generation white dial (WVO121EL) and absolutely love it - it’s an incredibly well made watch that screams quality.
Farer's Aqua Compressor is a VERY nice option for about $1,000.00. Great classic compressor looks and it's made of titanium with an available titanium bracelet. I have one and love it.
The compressor segment is fascinating. Would it have been more accurate to call the segment compressor-style or distinguish true compressors from those that just adopt visual style? Loved the video.
Great video, Teddy, but how did you miss the Christopher Ward Super Compressor? I believe it's one of the only current production actual super compressors (not super compressor style) on the market.
Teddy, love your love of watches! Fantastic content and your incredible knowledge. Always a pleasure to watch. I recently was at the Florence, Italy Panerai store and had a chance to purchase "Number 1" ( 1 of 500 ) of the new Panerai 1219 . I passed on it due to a review of it and the common movement that they put in it. Did I make a mistake by passing on it?
Than you TEDDY to clarify for people (like me) who never dive. I don't know that some brand have built watches to survive after 6000 m . When you are not a professionnal diver, i guess that you can survive with a watch certified for 300 m.
hey buddy Im looking at a few watches i want Either the seiko 5 Sport or the Certina Ds Powermatic 80, the white one with the Green nato, i would love a Video Review of the Certina since there arent alot of them!
Christopher Ward, RZE & Circula all have true super compressor watches in their portfolio. I love the Skin Diver look & Longines actually has a Heritage Skin Diver as well, not sure why it was left out when the Legend Diver was mentioned for the Compressor Style. Many microbrands have come with their own skin diver, like Zelos, Albany, Foster, Montoir, Seals Watch Co etc. Wolbrook is another great brand for the Skin Diver.
I really want the JLC Polaris no date. It's just weird that it only has 100m resistance. For the price, it probably should be at least 200m. Not that I'm going deep, just for piece of mind. Still a beautiful watch.
Great show Teddy Thanks for Featuring the Zodiac Sea Wolf as They were actually the first voyage "To Sea what's at the Bottom" a year before Rolex If I recall correctly😂 My favorite TV show when I was a kid Voyage to the bottom of the Sea Also loved Sea Hunt with Loyd Bridges following also with 007 wearing the directors watch!
Hi Teddy, you should add the Christopher Ward Super Compressor to thid list of compressor watches as it is a true compressor case. Great video as always , cheers Dale
@@swedishhiker9861 Sorry but you're wrong. The pressure difference can be very significant. You're only considering if an aircraft is pressurised. Many pilots can fly in un-pressurised aircraft at altitudes over 25'000'. If the crystal is not secured to compensate for a considerably higher internal pressure it could very easily pop off. That's why I was curious what manufacturers do to prevent this.
As somebody who dives and is around water a lot. This.
Right??!! I don’t understand the concept of dive watches. It’s so utterly stupid to me.
I was wondering EXACTLY the same thing. Kudos to scurfa. By divers, for divers. Would definitely love to own and would proudly go tourist diving with it ✌🏼
What is not to understand about it? Maybe you are stu...
I got one of those Invicta quartz dive watches. Really can't be mad at it for $35. Wouldn't take it 300ft into the ocean but for fishing and surfing it's fine.
Teddy you deserve all the success for what you have contributed to the watch community!😊❤😊❤
The Tudor Pelagos was noticeably missing from this video.
Teddy Please Give Review of Frederique Constant Classics Collection .
Anyone else not remotely interested in watches until they started listening to Teddy?! I don't know whether to thank him or blame him!
Love seeing the Doxa 300T getting some recognition. A dream watch of mine simply because it was what Dirk Pitt wore in his books.
Another interesting and very informative video. My $250 Seiko Divers 200 watch which I’ve had for almost 30 years continues to out perform most of my other watches. My Marathon GSAR is also very reliable.
Idk but no watch wears so good and stylish on nato straps than the omega seamaster diver 300m. That's my last watch in my collection missing.
I have the black wave dial version. It’s fantastic highly recommend!😊
For me I look for a dive watch with a high contrast face (white hands on a black or blue face), good lume’, fixed spring bars and worn on a NATO strap. My CWC diver hits all the buttons and has never let me down.

Is it a true compressor watch? CW is making some waves with their watches.
@anthonyhyba261 Yeah. The EPSA design was reverse engineered by CW. It has the little wire in the back. I used to own one and flipped it. My only criticism is the light blue and orange dial is sort of hard to wear.
@@theoriginalaceofspades7829ya it's still very nice but summer oriented I wish they had a dark variant like they do with the Aquitaine gmt's
It would have been good to mention Certina when discussing ISO certified dive watches.
Cue all the people who’ve never been below 30ft
I've been to 282 feet below sea level, but it was in Death Valley, and it was dry as a bone. Does that count?
@@mountainhobo Great
G shocks?
Thank you Teddy. An Excellent educational video on diver watches, my favorite type of watch.
I was expecting Panerai to show up at least 2 or 3 times in the video...
Loving my Omega SMP300 just an absolute beast of a watch but also looks beautiful ❤
No Panerai the original dive watch for the Italian navy.?
May I proffer the proprietary SafeDive system of the IWC Aquatimer collection. These models boast an internal timing ring which is turned using an external bezel. Perfect.
Only feel safe when I wear one of those extreme diver watches to the pool party !!
Divers I own: Omega SMP (Bond quartz), Tudor BB GMT, Tag Heuer Aquaracer, Hamilton Below Zero, Longines Hydroconquest. Five - too many maybe!
The Certina DS Action Diver or PH500 should have easily been mentioned.
The deepest any human has ever dived is 1000 Ft, so having watches that are certified to 36.000 Ft is just ridiculous.
I have a 1960-79s vintage Hamilton Super Compressor 600 and it's one of my favorite watches in my collection.
Missed a reference to the PloProf, I mean, it is its own kind of dive watch...
Teddy right on time for Black Friday with the Diver extravaganza. Awesome video and even better timing, for me, at least.
Teddy you really do need to start by telling us all what watch you are wearing today!!
its a grand seiko automatic, he mentioned it in his recent q&a
How can you make a video about dive watches and not talk about the vostok amphibia
Gotta put the Omega Ploprof in there

Probably a stupid question - what about those bulky italians like Panerai and Uboat? Are they considered a dive watches?
The compressor segment is fascinating. Would it have been more accurate to call the segment compressor-style or distinguish true compressors from those that just adopt visual style? Loved the video.
It would have been good to mention Certina when discussing ISO certified dive watches.
Nothing from Breitling?
Great video, Teddy, but how did you miss the Christopher Ward Super Compressor? I believe it's one of the only current production actual super compressors (not super compressor style) on the market.
Teddy’s shirts & perfectly turned cuffs have become comparable to his watch knowledge. #topnotch
Informative video!
Btw how come this video didn't mention Vostok dive watches?
12000 meters?!?! That’s insanely over engineered but still wicked awesome.
Great one Teddy 👍🏼 I will say I've always viewed my Oris 65 as a skin diver during to it's 100m WR and thin profile
Hi Teddy, dont know the other watches, but I’m quite sure that the Longines Legend Diver looks like a compressor, but it’s not.
Another awesome video!! Entertaining and education. Well done Teddy. Thank you for sharing with us all.
@teddy really, can you run down a dive watch that has fixed bars, actually worth taking in the sea. I can think of only Tudor Pelagos version.
Teddy, love your love of watches! Fantastic content and your incredible knowledge. Always a pleasure to watch.

Dick measuring contest
I am still waiting for solar powered oil filled diver :)
Maybe oil filled will be it's own type, because they are quite nice looking.
i dont even really know how to dive or swim but i really like diver watches 😅😅😂 i have planet ocean 39.5 im so happy with it
hey buddy Im looking at a few watches i want Either the seiko 5 Sport or the Certina Ds Powermatic 80, the white one with the Green nato, i would love a Video Review of the Certina since there arent alot of them!
Always cool ...and i did learn something ..i want a GSAR next.
I have the Rolex JC and the Ogema Seamaster 300. Fun to wear. Thanks for the reviews
Another video on the types of chronographs and another on dress watches!
Excellent overview if the style though no mention of tourbillon divers.
What's the difference between skindivers and the dive style watches? I kinda got the feeling that skindivers are dive style watches.
I learned about Marathon watches because of this channel & have since purchased from the brand.
Christopher Ward, RZE & Circula all have true super compressor watches in their portfolio. Christopher Ward and Circula are on my list. I recommend everyone, that likes dive watches to check them out.
suprised he didnt bring up Squale
Wrong channel. 😉
Thumbnail could've been a submariner tbh lol.
Man you need to go to that place where they wear towels on there heads and ride camels and wear million dollar watches next level stuff there
NO Omega Plo Proff in the last category?
Thanks Teddy. I think that makes my Blackbay 54, a “skindiver”, which it does exceptionally well.
Aquastar! Love it.
Learn every time I watch you
The benrus is great. Something about it works. Also the Alpina. I'm surprised there aren't many similar watches.
My favorite is the GO SeaQ 39.5mm. Just perfect as far as looks and a quality. Thank you Teddy!
I really want the JLC Polaris no date. It's just weird that it only has 100m resistance. For the price, it probably should be at least 200m. Not that I'm going deep, just for piece of mind. Still a beautiful watch.
Seiko 300MM can be used for sat diving without helium escape value. I wonder why it was not mentioned in the Saturation diving category.
Great show Teddy
Thanks for Featuring the Zodiac Sea Wolf as

My favorite TV show when I was a kid Voyage to the bottom of the Sea
Also loved Sea Hunt with Loyd Bridges following also with 007 wearing the directors watch!
I just don't know why there aren't more "divers" with 12h rather than timer bezels. A second time zone is so much more everyday-useful.
nice
I automatically think of the Christopher Ward when i hear modern Super Compressor
The date window on that alpina compressor is unforgivable.
Hi Teddy, you should add the Christopher Ward Super Compressor to thid list of compressor watches as it is a true compressor case. Great video as always , cheers Dale
Where is the Seamaster 300 heritage?
Where is the Seiko Tuna Can when you talk about saturation diver ? 😢 we are talking about real dive watches here.
Great video. Very informative. Thank You. 👍
Would love to see Maen Manhattan 37 review some day. Like if you agree!
Fantastic review of diver types, pin this! Great choices covered. Thanks Teddy.
I think it’s impressive how you make all your videos seem effortless.
Where is chrono-divers??
hey Teddy, can i ask why you never featurred seiko tuna marinemaster models ?
Please can you do a list of all of your favourite green face watches
I'd be interested to know what pilot watches do to compensate for decompression as opposed to the compression of dive watches.
Nothing, the pressure differences are small.

Eka
I just got my first diver and it is the Rolex blusey
I didn't think the Kamasu is classified as dive "style"
My watch is the thumbnail. I love it!
Suunto D9.
I love my ORIS Dicers 65!
No Seiko tuna?
Very informative! Thank you!
I love my Traska Freediver
I need a new dive watch. Something subdued with brushed or matte finish. What should I get?
Citizen Challenge Diver. Titanium, 9000 series movement and affordable.
great informative video
Great breakdown, thank you.
Vostok....
That was a cool video
Thanks Teddy!
how about the "desk divers"?
