Epic break down. The moral of the story “history, keeps repeating and fictional humanity takes note and perseveres while in reality we would be doomed. Great job breaking down the entire history of the Duniverse.
Niyat, I’ve been watching your content for years now and honestly thank you for taking so much time to effectively expand our knowledge of lore in some of our favorite franchises
its 8pm here in johannesburg, south africa, and im about to watch a 6 hour long video. Not because i particularly like dune, but because it is a FilmComicsExplained video
Love these longer form videos .. not everyone has the attention span of a two year old with the push for 'stories and TikTok's .. god help us. This video is a win for going against that sort of future media.
A lot of this is Brian Herbert and Kevin Anderson crap though unfortunately . I could be wrong but I don’t think Frank ever went into any kind of lore or story detail about any of this cymec or Agamemnon and evermind prime etc nonsense . That’s all just a bunch of generic sci fi mumbo jumbo from his kid
@@julianmitchell5776 Frank did go into the cymeks, Erasmus, Ominous. The latter making an appearance in book 6 Chapterhouse Dune, as the old lady and man. The last book Frank wrote. His son and Anderson did the rest with his partial stories and notes. Idaho was always meant to be the final KH.
Thank you for making this! I have 15 min left and I cannot wait to listen to it all over again! This has been a great way to learn about this massive timeline and it allows me to get the confidence to jump into the books!
The holtzman shields had a very destructive reaction with lasers. As in a blast at both the shield and the laser with both being destroyed by an almost atomic blast. The fremen adapted to not have tear ducts.
Man! This stuff is so awesome! Seriously, the lore that Brian Herbert added to his father's Dune series is seriously amazing! I can't wait to read his own books😊 I already finished Dune a d now i want to check out thr prequels by his son.
I think you did a wonderful job of explaining this in 6 hours. I must say though that I liked the original Dune film over the remake. The original stuck to the story line and I feel the actors and the acting were unparalleled. Thank you for your hard work. Very entertaining and enjoyable. 💯😍🥰
I just got off and sat in my car and opened UA-cam with the expectation of listening to music on my way home but then I saw this and I said out loud "Oh my God yes!" I will get started listening to this on my home instead😁
I've made it about 2/3's of the way through this series and read the cliff notes on the last few books. Looking forward to hearing a deeper analysis of a cool universe I couldn't delve much deeper into.
@JohnFourtyTwo maybe so, but only the first few Frank Herbert originals are worth reading. I've read a few of the Anderson and Herbert ones..... just not on the same level as the first 4 books.
I’m only 10 minutes in and my mind has been rocked. How in the hell did Frank Herbert create such a story with this in-depth history. I remember being a kid watching the original dune. I cried when it started to rain on Arakis. This guy is a wizard of story telling.
Hey Niat, I really love your videos and the ways you talk about them. You have a unique way with words that make the videos a supreme enjoy to watch and behold. I have a question for you, can you please do a top 10 video of your top 10 favorite Terminator machines or a video similar to that? If not, I understand. Also, i know I asked you this a while ago and you are most likely very busy, but out of simple curiosity, are you going to do a video on Arceus the Pokemon god? I'm just curious. You don't have to answer back. I wish you the best of luck with your future work endeavors and hope you stay safe.
Bloody hell man! 15000 years just got me straight... just had to come and see what you did! Here we go... got the popcorn and all... Lead me on a trip now
Loving the video. My knowledge of Dune has grown. I have a question. Why did Duke Leto take his entire staff and people to Dune. Baron Harkonnen had stewards run Dune. He didn’t have to put himself in harms way. Why didn’t Leto do the same?
Thanks so much for this, this is a great video that puts the entire Dune universe into context for fans of the movies that haven't read the books. Although I have read all the expanded books by Herbert Jr and Anderson, I do have some issues with them particularly the way they directly contradict or ignore many of Frank's precepts and storylines with far too many plot conveniences for my liking at times. Omnius as the "Enemy" at Krazelic and Duncan the final Kwisatz Haderach? Come on, it's a copout.
The "Ones Without Faces" appeared to be evolved face dancers who had regained so many memories that it enabled them to break free from the Tleilaxu Masters. They seemed to exist in another dimension, observing from an undisclosed place where they could watch Duncan and he could see them behind a net of some sort. Much of the information about the Butlerian Jihad comes from Frank Herbert's son, Brian. I enjoyed the work, but I didn't see confirmation for a new thinking machine (or AI) empire in the conclusion of what was supposed to be his penultimate book of the series. He sadly passed away before he could write the conclusion, so we never really know for sure.
Face dancers are something I just really don’t understand . Bene gesserit and mentats I can imagine as actually being real . Guild navigators not so much either . But in dune where there are no aliens or extra terrestrial beings or monsters or creatures etc . I just can’t understand how there are humans they can completely change their face like that . Just doesn’t make any sense
@@julianmitchell5776 I don't get how navigators use the spice to fly ships through the galaxy. The face dancers have some genetic abilities that they can use to not only assume the face but even the memories as they were advanced and improved upon..
Tbh, compressing 15,000 years into only 6 hours is impressive
6.5 hours tbf 😂
Impressive indeed
It’s less than 1/2 hour per book, even less if you include all of them!
I’m pretty sure that you can compress any knowledge in this ratio
Yep, and it's clear too
Holy crap, a 6 and a half hour video. This is going to be awesome.
Cover a story that has been told and expanded on for 50+ years.
I like the idea that the matrix basically happened, was resolved and then fail safes were added to keep it from ever happening again lol
Wrote in the 60s, many years before the Matrix. Still a good comparison.
@@dannystevens2818 collective unconscious. These are all just movies based on humanity’s existential fears
@@dannystevens2818 no its not, Frank never wrote Butlerian jihad
@@DembosTheEmperor He never wrote any of the prequels nor did he finish his series.
@@JohnFourtyTwo yeah, I know, what I meant to say is that he never dwelved deeper into the Jihad except couple of mentions here and there.

Started watching cause of the Alien and Predator stuff...which I feel like is what you launched with.

Nice!
An epic 6 hour long video dedicated to the DUNE saga.
Wow! Is it? Thanks for pointing that out. 🙄
15,000 years explained in 6 and a half hours. You're quite the amazing storyteller.

Bless you sir, 6 and a half hours you're far too kind 🙌🏻
Wow. Bruh...
The effort for this video...
Thank you!
What a way to start my 4 day weekend, let the spice FLOW!
"As requested...." who requested this??? Some sadist! I've been watching/listening to you for years. A six hour upload, holy cats man!! Wow.
Then you should appreciate his dedication to making excellent quality videos for his viewers!
this man went insane delving into the history of the universe and shared his knowledge with us

Amazing quality! Great stuff brother
Animated series of these wars would be epic.
45K views, yet only 1.6K likes, work like this deserves a far higher like rate ☝🏻👍🏻
Probably most of them gave up after 30 minutes. The attention time is now youtube shorts. Everything much longer than that is too hard for most 😅
Too many ads too. Makes following very difficult as one is interrupted almost every 3mins with an ad.
I’m gonna continually back track while watching to make sure I comprehend what’s happening 😂
You really should read the books, they are brilliant!
I feel you on that I did that for the first hour of the video 5 times already 😂
