What memories this brings back! I was a locomotive engineer for Southern Pacific hiring out in 1963. I work on the Toledo branch one of the most beautiful interesting and historic lines! Historic little towns, covered bridges and stunning wooded Mountain of scenery! ! worked on local freight in Toledo we used SD nines at that time! I also worked all over the willamette valley from Portland to Eugene. saddens me to see The Tillamook branch shut down! at any rate Thank you for the post! Really incredible amount of historical information that I wasn’t aware of you did some epic history study!
Excellent drone footage, and i love the scenery, you have everything all in one, hills bridges, tressels highway, historic townsand tunnels, excellent keep up the great work.
Can't believe this doesn't have more views. Great shots and well edited. Thank you for sharing! I spent several years in Grants Pass and loved train watching all around the region. Back then you still saw SP units. Times have changed!
This is a wonderful production, truly broadcast quality stuff. Hats off to you guys for all your hard work, superb camera positions, graphics and editing. I will definitely visit the Toledo District for some railfanning, next time I'm in Oregon.
Great video! I grew up and live nearby in the Willamette Valley and learned so much from your narration. When the weather permits I love to ride my motorcycle on the hwy that parallels the line between Blodgett and down Crystal Creek and on through Elk City and Toledo.
Beautiful and masterfully presented! Great inspiration from the second-hand mixed power and weathered rolling stock, as well as, the detailed narration. I look forward to more.
Thanks for your work on this fine video! It is interesting to learn about the history and operation of this railroad that I see when fishing and hunting in the area.
Additional comment: also my father was A locomotive engineer retired from southern Pacific! work steam engines in the 40s! he was born on a Homestead near Eddyville in 1917!
What a great video! I just moved into the Toledo area and this has so much good info and history I was wondering about what time the patch crew left in the morning, I've been trying to see it leave but haven't had any luck yet
That one is still on its way technically. We haven’t received it yet. Plus there are more units on the way. I will probably do an updated video in a couple years.
Hi! I was wondering if you know the operating 'schedule' for the Toledo Hauler/Patch? Such as typical times and days of the week they operate. If your able to share, it would be much appreciated, thank you!
Cannot wait for part 2!
An excellent production! Wonderful history and drone captures! Your work always hits it out of the park!

Would that be the Eastern Oregon RR?
I am planning to come out there after I get research done on it.
I was hoping for Milwaukee Road..but this looks kool

I was wondering about what time the patch crew left in the morning, I've been trying to see it leave but haven't had any luck yet
The crew swap is around 0530 and can be in town or east of the the town by the short spur out there.
Hope part two is coming soon!
In production.
Fantastic video and beautifully done! May i ask what equipment you use?
Thank you. Drone work is done with a DJI Mavic 2. Camera work with a Canon R.
They have added 3546 into Portland & Western as a GP38-2
That one is still on its way technically.
We haven’t received it yet.

I will probably do an updated video in a couple years.
Thanks for the photos as Tunnel 22 disappeared and that huge trestle being buried. I heard it took only six days to complete, is that correct?
Yes it was a very quick process. They also increased the clearance of tunnel 24 at the same time.

Generally the outbound train leaves Albany in the evening M-F. The Inbound train leaves Toledo in the morning around 7am Tu-Sat.
I couldnt imagine going 10mph for 10 to 12 hours at a time, that must be excruciatingly boring.
Sounds relaxing and easy going.
Is this the one that runs down through gold hill oregon
That is the Central Oregon & Pacific Railroad.
We will be filming soon.
No, that would be the Central Oregon and Pacific railroad.
@@molineg707 yeah it was mentioned already. Still both owned by Genesee & Wyoming though.
