Most of the White House interior can be viewed on Google Maps Street view. It's fun to tour. Jono hope y'all can get the home repairs done before winter sets in. Sending ❤to the Graham Family from Texas.
There are plenty of videos and books and photos of the interior. There is a pool under the press room. There are tours of the White House. Most people can arrange to take the main house tour. I did that when I was twelve. And there are other types of tours. I took a West Wing tour many years ago. It requires arranging through your local US Congress representative. And you enter through the west end and visit the Oval Office, the Roosevelt Room, and many other rooms and corridors which are often seen on TV and films.
This gives you the layout. You might want to watch “Visiting the White House - a full tour, including Marine One. I love going through it when I was a child. That was before the new tighter security.
Although there is a lot of furnishings already in the White House, each family chooses there own furniture to enhance and make it their own living space. I personally would never even consider living in a home for 4 full years surrounded by furniture that someone else chose, or sleeping on a bed that anyone else has slept on before! The China Room is special as it houses a museum of sorts showcasing the different china plating patterns created for each sitting President that each First Lady used for all their brunches, tea parties and private dinners. It was really focused and properly developed during the reign of First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy.
Yes, there are tours. Americans must contact their senators and foreigners must contact their ambassador to the US beforehand. You must do this well in advance for a full background check before any visit. I went on the tour in the 1980s and we saw all the color rooms
Learned in a different video that the president/first family are sent a monthly bill. Obviously they can't do their own shopping. So if they need toothpaste, snacks, socks, pizza, shampoo, clothes, etc.. They are required to pay for it. The only food and supplies they get for free or that tax payers pay for are state events like hosting foreign dignitaries.
The Family Quarters are the private residence of the President and his family. Yes, they do select their own furnishings and decorations. Only the Public Rooms are furnished and decorated by the Government.
@@chrisp308 yeah I meant Central Europe where the Graham Family lives especially being so close to Ukraine. But you're also correct, Peace and love from USA to the whole world. 😊
The First Family gets to decorate their private area. POTUS gets to select art for the Oval Office. Sometimes it's borrowed from museums or gifted to the White House. During a normal transition, the family in residence moves out in time for the new family to move in on Inauguration Day. There are some videos of First Ladies giving tours especially during Christmas.
That movie is Olympus Has Fallen. Most of their personal belongings do go into storage. Yes there are tours. There are videos online that tour the White House during Christmas time. We're down to two weeks until election day.
Nice video. Mr. Graham, you should look for the videos of New Zealand family sees Redwood trees for the first time and New Zealand family sees Lake Tahoe for the first time. The have rented a camper van and are road tripping across the USA.
Many of the First Family’s personal belongings go into storage besides clothes and sentimental things. Some presidents sell their personal residence to avoid paying for it and the costs for the stay in the White House. I believe it was Truman who moved back in with his mother after being president, because he sold his home and was temporarily homeless. As for furnishings, the family can draw upon the White House’s collection to furnish their offices, public rooms, and private rooms. There are multiple historical items, including 6 different desks for the President to choose to be in the Oval Office. The most famous of which is the Resolute Desk, made from the salvaged remains of HMS Resolute. To thank the American’s for finding and returning HMS Resolute, Queen Victoria asked of a set of desks to be made. One was gifted to the US president and the other would be used by the British monarch, as a symbol of goodwill between them nations.
To tour the White House usually have to start doing paperwork a year out and go through some other hoops if you're a non-american citizen I believe you have to contact your ambassador's office or your embassy to start the process I believe the White House website if it's still where you go to do this has a list of things you have to get done before they can let you do a tour
The "White" building that is so famous is actually only a very small part of "The White House Complex" which also includes the East and West Wings as well as the Eisenhower Executive Office Building across West Executive Avenue, a street that was closed to public access many years ago and now functions as a parking lot for senior White House employees. There are also several levels below street level and tunnels connecting to other government buildings.
They still call the Press Briefing Room "The Pool Room" (where the pool used to be). There are tours, but the security checks are rigorous and the waiting list is long
I know the tours are for free but are really hard to get because they are in high demand. I know foreign citizens are allowed on tours but I've heard conflicting things how they need to apply. The White House website says for foreign citizens to contact their embassy in Washington, D.C. while I've read forums from foreigners that say that many embassy's don't really deal with that (or maybe don't know?). Some foreign citizens have found luck finding a U.S. congressman that is open to tours with foreign citizens but I don't know how reliable going down that path would be.
To my understanding, the Presidents furniture is moved into the family residential section during the inauguration. The rest of the White House has historical furniture owned by the state. Peace
There are UA-cam videos of actual tours of the White House that you two can watch. The President does one each year for the public. And you can go on tours when you're in D.C. but they don't go in the private areas like the family's quarters.
There are tours but you must book it three months in advance, have a complete background check, and follow rules to the letter. It’s not easy to get the tour as the secret service really runs a thorough background check. You also must dress in business attire. It’s much easier to get into the Smithsonian or the Washington monument. I actually wanted to do the tour but got denied for some reason. I don’t know why as I have a clean record.
To have a tour of the White House you have to be invited by the president, or I believe have to have an invitation requested by your ambassador. I know for US citizen we have to have a request from our representative of our district I believe or senator.
The mansion, or main building that was the original President's House, is used for the family living spaces and the public rooms for various purposes. The East Wing is generally referred to as the First Lady's wing. The West Wing is where the president runs the country. There is a large outdoor swimming pool and tennis court off of the West Wing. The old indoor swimming pool used by President Franklin Roosevelt for his polio therapy, was covered over and is where the Press Briefing Room is today. I visited the White House when I was a senior in high school many years ago, and it is interesting but not captivating.
They don't show the secret staircases or the tunnels in and out of the basement of the whitehouse. The lapel pins that the Secret Service can monitor and restrict your movements with either.
Presidents keep their homes and their private residents have security 24 hours a day even when they are not there. Roads/streets that lead to their home are manned with security checkpoints , as well as security at the home. When they actually go home to visit as President the security perimeter expands.
Actually thier a second building across the street from The White House call the Old Exchange Building, where POTUS has offices if he choose to use them.
Ya their not going show any of the different levels of the sub basements or the many different underground tunnels, those are supposed be a secret. Yes you can take guided public group tours through some of the White House during designated times or at least you could before Covid. As always I’m enjoying your reaction videos guys.
The white house has been deconstructed and reconstructed several times. The presidents office used to be in the main house then moved to one place on the west wing then moved again. During the mid 20th century, the size of the govt really increased.
It's actually seems a lot smaller than you think when you're inside - at the time, they tended to build many rooms that were all a bit small. I take family to tour the White House when they come to visit and they've all commented on the fact that it's smaller than they thought!
Every president can customize the layout, so taking a video of the layout would be both a security hazard and possibly just inaccurate. Also, the residence is used to house important guests, so security is paramount there. Business offices also take into account alternate escape routes for the president and the first lady from their offices. The residence has had various recreational things. I'm not sure whether the bowling alley still exists. Again, each president makes his own changes. As for the China Room, traditionally the First Lady would design a set of (eating) china for the term(s) the president is in office. I believe the more recent designs are on display when the WH is offering tours.
The building has been redecorated several time since then, but see if you can find the video of Jacqueline Kennedy giving a narrated tour of the White House. Or try this one : Inside the White House on a Public Tour or else check out this one : Inside The White House's Secret Rooms
The White House was completely rebuilt from 1949 to 1952. They saved the outer facade, antique furnishings, and interior decor. A modern steel and concrete structure was built, along with the top-secret bunkers and whatever else is underneath.
The Queens' Bedroom is named for the royal guests that have stayed there in the White House, including five queens: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, Queen Wilhelmina and Queen Juliana of the Netherlands, and Queen Frederika of Greece. The room is decorated in shades of pink, white, and rose and furniture from the Federal period
I've watched several 9/11 documentaries, and learned that there is a safe area located somewhere under the White House - sounded laike it's WAY under the street level.
The are opening an exhibit in Washington D.C., I think, and it's a replica of the White House. Gives more people a chance to see exactly what the interior looks like, plus areas which the public would not be allowed in the real White House. You can sit in exact replica of the President's desk in an exact replica of the Oval Office
Back in the 1800s the White House was open to anyone to just walk in but for obvious reasons it became more secure over the years. We went on a tour with our school in the 80s when it was decorated for Christmas. I have no idea how the tour process worked back then. I’m sure since 9/11 it is even harder to gain access.
Most Presidents, if not all, bring some of their own furniture for where the kids and the personal living room is, to not have to worry about historic furniture they have their choice of using, which is maintained, refurbished, stored and moved by the White House Historical Society (which would make a great reaction video, itself)! LBJ had a Fresca soda machine Putin the Oval Office.
The election for the President is once every four years. It is the same year that we have leap year, and the summer Olympics. It is always the first Tuesday in November, because of tradition. Early in American history a large portion of the citizens were farmers, and many things occurred to accommodate them. The Presidential election is still one of them steeped in tradition. By November all of the crops have been picked and already taken to market. Also for farmers, they probably didn’t live close to town, so they needed time to travel. After going to church on Sunday, they can travel on Monday, and then vote on Tuesday. Back then only the men could vote, so they left the women and children behind. They fed the animals on the farm, and milked the cows and collected the eggs from the chickens. The men returned home on Thursday. Back then it took time to collect all of the votes and announce the results, and swear in the next President for the next four years. This event is always on the 20th of January, unless the 20th is a Sunday, then it is delayed one day and held on the 21st. I didn’t google this information, it just fell out of my head. I’ll take credit for the things that I got right, and blame the California school system for the things that I got wrong, like my grammar and syntax. I hate it when I make a misteak!
Weird history and fact for you, Washington, D.C.'s name is more to it. Washington in the name refers to the name of the city while D.C. is short for District of Columbia being the federal capital. Because they are said together so often it is rare someone realizes that they are actually technically different. There is a reason there is a comma after Washington in Washington, D.C.. For a long time the capital was referred to just as the District of Columbia. Here is where me being from Washington state I'll inject my state history. When my state was being added to the union, they wanted the state to be called 'Columbia' but were afraid it would confuse people mistaking the District of Columbia, the capital, and Columbia, the state. Instead they choose the name 'Washington' to make sure no one would get this confused. I guess that didn't work out.
They have tours but you have to get tickets a year ahead n background check. But not all the rooms available to be seen. The said Lincoln's bedroom is told it is haunted. Our election is Nov 5th
if you type in : inside the white house on a public tour,, it is a very short video, but you can see what the inside of the white house looks like irl.
There are underground facilities (location unknown to the public) that are used to house the president and his family in the event of an imminent threat. The security of one of these secret facilities was breached when a plane crashed on the mountainous property. Obviously, this facility can no longer be used to ensure the president’s safety due to its discovery and press exposure. Yes, you can tour the White House, but only certain rooms are made available to the public. Most of the house is off limits. Reservations are necessary. Yes there is a basement and a bunker/multiple tunnels etc. there is a bowling alley in the basement. there are much better videos on our house. There is a bunker and you actually can go and take a tour of the White House. You have to sign up for it I used to be you could just walk in or take it but with the things that are happening society lately no you can’t just show up and walk through there but still to this day you can take a tour of the White House. Obviously you’re not gonna get to see all the secret places but you can still walk to the White House just so you know.
You know what I find hilarious... The world looks at the U.S. military budget and knows that it out spends the rest of the world. But, that is in the budget, we still have more money for other things in our country. So if the U.S. doubled down on expenditures, then the world would definitely be in fear and would probably see things that were only seen in UFO AND SCIENCE FICTION MOVIES. I beg the world to not make my country do this. We will come to the defense of NATO and our outside allies. The U.S. does have the ability to outspend. The national debt is nothing because the taxes on the people are especially low and on corporations are low. THEYVE BEEN SO LOW COMPARED TO THE 90'S during the Clinton years when the U.S. had its last balances budget and gov surplus. So if the U.S. had to, it could double down and ramp up double or triple the threat it already is on the rest of its enemies.
They do have a safe room, but they are probably not going to tell u where it's located for safety reasons.

Don't feel bad. I thought the Oval Office was in the main building. Learn something new everyday. The public can go on a tour. Video tour in Whitehouse. ua-cam.com/video/lIhs4wSGseg/v-deo.htmlsi=B9YnFJHzdn3d_SiL
I was very disappointed in the size of The White House. It is one of the smallest buildings in the area.
Whitehouse down
Another reason to realize movies and tv shows are fiction.
