  • hey beautiful people, i just want to point out that this is stuff that has worked for my skin, each person is sooo different so this video is just a guideline - eg. i used coconut oil for years and my skin was great with it, for others it can lead to clogged pores and breakouts. so experiment and understand your skin to know what it needs and works best with :)

    As someone who isn’t a fan of ‘all natural’ skincare (I once was but I have learned so much more since then) I’m not mad about this video at all! You point out some good tips! But I have some things to add. Pores cannot actually close or open and a toner will only add extra hydration or the benefit of extra actives (not sure if this is applicable to natural skincare) I don’t recommend using essential oils on your face since they are very irritating. Especially if you have sensitive skin you don’t want to irritate it further. Citrus oils indeed make your skin more sensitive to the sun BUT this cannot be helped by using them in the evening. Your skin will still be sensitive from it the next morning so please don’t use it at all. For the mask you use; I recommend using avocado and honey if you want a home-made natural mask since honey is very good for the skin and will hydrate it. Using lemon juice will make you more sensitive and coconut oil is comedogenic meaning it can clog your pores. A sugar scrub can be good since sugar dissolves and you won’t be able to scrub to hard and too much because of the granulas getting smaller.
    I really appreciate you talking about the importance of sunscreen since a lot of natural skincare says that sunscreen is toxic. And please don’t make it yourself!
    Remember everyone is different and some will say this or that works for them (b.e. coconut oil or witch hazel) so if something works for you than go for it! Just make sure you are really in check with yourself and what you are using since some negative effects can be able to only show after a lot of years of use.

      I also use to think that everything “natural”,”clean” and homemade was generally a better choice. I cannot express how much I am in a different path now. My objectives are still a minimal, clinically proven, made Canada (trying to stay local). I recommend the dermatologist’ Sherreen Idris. A good dose of science and realness🙌.
      Thanks for saying it so respectfully. I’ve been finding it difficult to watch/read so of the misinformation out there.

    • @nathashapaul5344
      @nathashapaul5344 3 роки тому +6

      @@lthiel975 yes same! it wasnt until i did more research on these "natural" and "clean" claims that i realized how off i was. chemicals aren't automatically bad and lab tested products are tested and approved. something like *tetradecyl ascorbate* would be an ingredient that most people don't recognize but it's just a fancy way of saying vitamin c!!
      also other factors play a role like genes! I can do everything correctly but i still get pimples and hyper-pigmentation! your diet is important compared to skincare imo.
      clean and natural are not better. preservatives aren't bad. the common goal would be to have a minimalistic, fragrance free, no irritation based skincare routine. just because something isn't affecting your skin at the moment, doesn't mean you won't have a bad reaction to it in the future (i mainly talking about essential oils and fragrances, that's what happened to me)
      also a fellow canadian here :)

    You are truly stunning and clearly your routine is working wonders for you. I would just be a bit careful with giving the exfoliation advice. Working in a natural holistic beauty industry for a long time I have seen a lot of problematic skins over the years and most of them came from over-exfoliating. I am sure you know I am saying this with love and sending you lots of it too.

    I do NOT recommend using olive oil or coconut oil for your face. Those oils can actually clog your pores. Oils can vary and some will clog your pores slightly, or quite a lot, or not at all, so don't just use any oil on your face. Your body can handle olive or coconut, just not your face. Squalene or Argan oil is a good option that does not clog your pores and absorbs quickly.

      I have also used olive and coconut oil on my skin - and it's kept it young and supply. I see a lot of my white friends tell me what you have said. It's simply not true. Dermatologist say that so you you buy their expensive products over these cheaper and better options. I have also seen that my friends who used accutaine in their teens have worse skin as adults.

    • @dauntlessdivine2627
      @dauntlessdivine2627 3 роки тому +6

      @@niveditarengarajan5287 These oils are wonderful for the body, I was taught that olive oil or coconut oil should not be used specifically on the face, especially if you are prone to sensitivity or breaking out. You can see the difference for example between olive and argan oil. Argan oil is a very thin oil that absorbs very quickly, olive oil is very thick and will sit on the skin for a lot longer. Like everything in this world, there are always outliers who can tolerate a comedogenic oil on their face without any issues. I'm not suggesting that Radhi is lying or intentionally try to mislead people, I'm just trying to let others know that it's widely considered and proven scientifically to be a clogging oil for the face because facial skin is generally a lot more sensitive to comodegenic oils than for example the skin on the legs or arms. I use coconut oil on my body all the time as well as olive & coconut on my scalp and hair as they both have such amazing and nourishing properties.
      Race has absolutely nothing to do with this, this information isn't incorrect just because white people have told you. I was actually taught this by a fellow woman of color who I highly respect and who deeply understands the chemical make-up of oils, not because of their skin color, but because of their incredible knowledge of plants and how they interact with the body and health. I've also had this information confirmed by several people of many races. I grew up in a Native American family, on a reservation, and learned a lot about different plants and their medicinal uses from my elders. Suggesting that any race is unknowledgeable just because of their race is just ridiculous and demeaning.
      We are all human beings, spread love, not discrimination.

      Chemicals exist in nature.Yet they aren't as potent as synthetic chemicals can be. When nature comprises of a harmful substance it has it counterparts that dilute it. Whereas, human concoctions do not. The same applies to vitamins & minerals that are isolated.

    • @SelenaRamona
      @SelenaRamona 3 роки тому +6

      @@sevehrsevehr6001 Nature is as potent as can be because it is pure nature in and of itself. There exists no regulation within nature. Botanicals can have a wide variety of negative effects on the skin, even when simply brushing up against a certain plant's leaves. Yogurt is often used as a face mask, and the desired effect achieved is imparted by way of the lactic acid within it. One can easily purchase a tube of stabilized lactic acid from a reputable source in order to achieve the same results though in a much more concentrated way, so that it may produce the desired results more effectively, quickly, and safely. Doing so also bypasses the privileged habit of food waste entirely. Within lab formulated skincare, there are most definitely ingredients used in order to dilute the effects of others. Consider water, aloe barbadensis, glycerin, etc. These are all safe chemicals used to dilute manufactured products. I write from experience on this subject as one who often used food as skincare in the past. Many perishable goods will simply not penetrate the deeper layers of the skin, which is where change truly begins. Applying avocado, turmeric, or even "gentle" rose water to the skin will not yield desired results as they are unable to penetrate into the epidermis. In fact, over time, it is possible to develop an allergy to such topical uses as they are major irritants.

Nature does not keep lethal substances readily available. In order to do damage you must consume a substantial amount of apples and their seeds in a very short period which is impossible. On the other hand, you have cyanide that has been synthesised by humans. Lets have a look at nuclear power. Where in nature do you find such explosives that have such lasting detriment. If you think yogurt is more dangerous than lactic acid. You are clearly demented. There is no food waste. Yogurt isn't food. Waste would be if one were to find no use of the extracted product in this case yogurt and dump it. Applying it to the skin or hair is not waste. Lactic Acid can do damage and leave burns on the skin. Whereas Yogurt does not. Yogurt has soothing and probiotic qualities that lactic acid does not and nutrients that can be absorbed by the dermis. You have proven my point many a fold in your attempt to negate it. If you feel there is no 'waste' in the production of synthetic products you are wrong. All the factories that produce medical grade chemicals pollute the environment and topographies that they are built upon. Whereas, what harm is yogurt doing ? If you spill it by chance other insects will eat it or it will be absorbed into the soil and decompose. Avocado is largely used to moisturise the upper layer of the skin. Turmeric is anti-inflammatory. Its funny how you claim it does not penetrate the skin yet common turmeric leaves the skin stained for days if not weeks at a time. Not sure what your claim is in relation to 'gentle'. If you can eat these foods which i do regularly apart of the yogurt. Generations of my family have consumed them yet none of us have any allergies. Most people don't have any allergies. Those who do have a system that is clogged by synthetic and incompatible substances.

    Loved the video. As always amazing energy and positivity simply flows from Radhi seemingly effortlessly.
    However, I would like to mention though that oil 👏is 👏not 👏a 👏moisturiser 👏. The molecular construction of pure fats, oils, seed butters, and plant waxes do not include water (they actually trap in water because they're hydrophobic my nature) and therefore can never moisturise the skin by themselves. Lots of love 😘

      And as an aside I would personally NEVER recommend for anyone to apply coconut oil or pure essential oils to their skin. Coconut oil is comedogenic which can lead to breakouts, and essential oils are known irritants to the skin. Some essential oils such as citrus based oils will even become phototoxic when exposed to sunlight (which Radhi mentions) which can lead to photosensitive reactions and even burns. Y'all please treat your skin with care 🥰

      @@viridelao7911 I had used organic Rosehip seed oil which worked pretty well for me (got clear skin) but it was not very moisturising as far as I remember. Just now I ordered camellia oil to get more moisture and it has comedogenic rating as 1 which is less than rosehip seed oil hence I might leave rosehip seed oil and start with camellia if it works well. (Higher the comedogenic rating, more it will clog pores so always check the comedogenic rating of a oil before applying to face)
