Listen, I don’t care what nobody says about me. The O’Jays are and will always be great! How many groups with this kind of finesse perform in their 70’s(and now 80’s)? Been a fan for 52 years and I said what I said! The soul they bring make the hair on my skin stand! Those who give a thumbs down know NOTHING about great music. To be fair, there are new singers that are good, but who do you think they learned from? Long live soul music and the pioneers who made it possible.❤
I caN't believe someone could actually have negative words. These guys are in their early 70s and unlike many other groups from the era, the lead singers are STILL singing. Are they what they were 30 years ago? OF COURSE NOT! Are you as good as you were at anything you were 30 years ago? If you say yes, you just THINK you are. It is a blessing to just have the opportunity to listen or see them. Trust me, they aren't doing it for the money any more, they are doing it so their fans can have a chance to reminisce. In a few more years, we will no longer have that chance!!!
I never could get enough of the Mighty O Jays... been listening to these fantastic tunes from as far back as I can remember ... I will be joining the crowds in the heavens above... so get on that love train and join in Peace O Jays love you guys
I love the O'Jays! These guys no matter what the weather or circumstance will always give an excellent show! If you don't like their style, moves and/or comparing how they were 40+ years ago, shame on you. I would love to see if you are the same 40 years ago!
Tina Goodrich exactly.......old school entertainers are the best, and I think they always sound amazing....god bless them for all the fun they are having and god bless them for leaving us the memories
This is a blessing to see these guys still performing and sounding good after all of these years.... Nowadays you are lucky if you get a 3 year run in this music industry. So much love and respect to these living ledgends!
...at one time Eddie and Walter could hit their notes with no problem, but with many years lapsing you can tell the difference yet kudos to the mighty O'jays
When I read the some of the comments on hear, I really realize that some people don't know very about sound reinforcement. Although someone did write on the difficulty of doing sound outside. Sound outside is a real challenge!! Not many people are able to really capture the sound of being inside outside. Yes the O'Jays have been around a long time, but that's because they are masters at what they do! Very few if any of today's artists will be around or stay around long enough for us to even remember who they were four maybe five years from now not to mention forty or fifty years from now. The O'Jays like few others have earned their way to a place in musical history! So let's just enjoy them while we still can because so many of the true greats are passing away so quickly anymore.
X hi can you delete what I had just made a statement about can you delete that because I don't have the words in context okay thank you yes I would like to know can you delete what I had before on there okay do you remember when I said I couldn't remember their names Eddie and water honey I pretty much grew up with them also so anywho that's it
Regardless of the age they are still outperforming the singers of today or ten years ago.. even with their dance routines! All these one hit or one album wonders of today..Most can't last 5 years and here we have almost 50 years of talent on stage! Love them and they could play instruments for all I care!
Who said they're not? But do you not recognize that even legends get old and lose their ability to do what they once did? Ali was a legend but do you think he could still fight before he died? As for my age I'm in my 60's. Old enough to remember when these guys were at the top of their game. So that means that no matter how much their skills deteriorate I'm supposed to pretend they've not left them?
I think they had a 'less than best' outing. I saw them live in December 2015, and they were perfect. Performing outside is extremely challenging_____the humidity, the sound dissapation is sometimes hard to deal with. If you're from the South, believe me, it was 105 degrees in the shade. You could see it all over their faces. I wouldnt take this as representative of their abilities. The other thing wont dont know is what there schedule was. Did they perform the night before? Did they participate in long promotional interviews? Did they have a late nite with some _ _ _ _ _ _ as one is wont to do when visiting New Orleans?
I love these guys ♥ I was around when this music hit the 45s, they sounded good then, thank God! I'm still around, and they still sound good. God bless 🙏 The Ojays.
Real classic music along with a class act. This is what real talented singing and musicians performing real time. One of my favorite groups of all time greats. Singers and musicians learned from the Era from which the Era came from. I still listen to the ojays. Much blessings.
I was at this performance, saw these songs performed. They might not be youngsters anymore, but you better believe that stage was jammed packed, and the O'Jays straight up delivered. When they kicked into "For the Love of Money", it was definitely party time!
I was blessed to hear the Ojays live and in person at a salute to them in Harlem for free and the best part was the Manhattans, Ray Goodman and Brown and Blue Magic was there too.🥰❤️🖤💚l love my singing Chocolate brothers 🥰❤️🖤💚ps l got hugs and tee shirts and fond memories too to last me forever 🥰
Great venue.... the soundtrack of my childhood in New Orleans in the mid-70’s. Loved the Ojays...the Spinners....LTD...Parliament...Ohio Players....Brothers Johnson...fueled by love and positivity. It’s what we need more of now.
Just amazing.......absolutely in love with these men! I am so blessed to have to opportunity to watch these live videos, and their music everyday.....thank you gentlemen for all the memories of love an unconditional commitment to your fans, we are truly blessed
Eddie is 73 and Walter is 72, so I don't expect them to perform like they did 40 years ago. But it's true Eddie's voice is not the same. I saw them in Atlanta last month and they still rocked the crowd though. But I'm not sure how much longer they can go on. Same with the Rolling Stones. Father Time always has the final say.
They can't sing like they used too, but they're still entertaining and it's nice to see them alive , well and together. Even the youngster Nolan Grant is in his early fifties now... The band is excellent and covers for what they can't sing. I say do it till you can't 😀
They are straight up embarrassing the younger singers in the radio nowadays. Even though they ain't what they used to be they don't need no auto-tuning or nothing. Real legends.
And he is I was wondering can I make a remark okay anyone anyway mentioned something about the O'Jays and the one in the middle okay now Walter and what's his name I can't even thinking that water and the work all right let's put it like this now the one in the middle they only in his fifties now I'm 60 something and I dance better than all of them okay and for the person who said that they got the look at the ones who went in the door first not just coming in you know what I'm saying see it now they don't matter young man up and down you know I think Eddie and water is doing a magnificent job and for they age keep up the good work much love going out to The O'Jays
I think they had a 'less than best' outing. I saw them live in December 2015, and they were perfect. I saw them in NY with the temptations. Dennis Edwards and David Ruffin was there. 6 temps on stage. The Ojays opend for the temps. This was the best concert I ever seen.
Walter Williams Voice still sounds good butt it does seems that father time has caught up with Eddie Levert once dominating voice..Not be critical but he could once roar like a lion maybe he was just having a bad day but I've seen them several times over the last seversl years and Eddie's voice seems to be failing him at times but that being said I still love seeing the O'Jays Anytime Anyplace forever and a day they are my all time favorites
I do believe it is time for them to bow out gracefully and retire. Though the show, to me, was great, I don't think they can keep up with their own songs. Remember these are songs they did back when they were younger so I don't expect them to sound the same...I just believe it's time to relax now.
Eric Noland Grant fantastic musician in his own right he has a masterpiece solo album title 'Swing Mood' he's like a son to Eddie who's over 75 and Walter over 74 hence he will move faster..They have been in the music game since 1958...They boasted the longest original lead singers in soul music in Eddie LeVert Sr and Walter Williams, it's incredible they have lasted this long,it's understandable if they don't dance as fast as they used to do in the 70's,80's and 90's they are still incredible saw them at O2 september 2014 i was blown amazing performance.
My homies, I know them from back in the early sixties in Canton, Ohio. Long live the O'Jays!!!!.

Anthony J. Lombardo You're 100% right! That's the beauty of UA-cam. U can watch any era of the O'Jays. Older, younger, etc.

This is what great music and the ability to perform and entertain live is about.
Wow! I can't believe that these men have not changed even in their mid 70s. Good voices! I love the Love train!

+Krayola D They're probably outperforming Wiliam Hung from American Idol. That's about it.
+Krayola D are you an idiot!!! these guys are legends, pros
+Ti Ha how old or young are you cause you apparently don't know these guys. They are legends pro's.
Who said they're not? But do you not recognize that even legends get old and lose their ability to do what they once did? Ali was a legend but do you think he could still fight before he died? These guys are perfection. No matter where they are, they sound like the recording. I love my O Jays
Those people who disliked this video are Back Stabbers..
That 4 on the floor triplet beat on "Love Train" is a classic.
Walters magic voice is still the same

It looks hot as shit out there. 42 degrees where I’m at right now and I’m sweating just watching them do their sexy, magical stuff in that heat.
Great group.
Such a pity about the poor sound quality on this video
❤
This was a bad performance. Just saw them in Philly and they sounded SO GOOD
It's too bad James Brown passed away he'd probably be performing right up there with them.
Father Time kicks ass! :-(

Just saw them in philly and they were SO much better than this. This was just an off performance
I love this group but all that dancing they can no longer do. The one in the middle you can tell he's a dancer he haven't lost a step.

Don't the lady on congas look out of place?. She looks like a 3rd grade art teacher.
