These Aggressive Canal Pike Were Going Wild! (Great Footage!)

- Well its been over a month now since the pike spawned on my local waters and I think its about time to start fishing for them again. This time of year jerkbaits can be deadly! The pike are fired up and chasing baitfish and jerkbaits imitate that perfectly! I had an action packed session with plenty of fish landed and lots of great footage! Hope you enjoy!

Really enjoyed the sections with all the bird song in the background, noise of the real etc. - transforms the viewer experience to actually being on the bank.

Great video m8 could be doing with losing a set of trebles from those lures pike coming in with hooks in the body had same problem with big salmo lures hooks everywhere took off the front ones made a big difference

Hey bro, cool video! I see how you handle them and know there is a knack to it but aren’t you afraid of one clamping down on your hand or whatever? On the canal they are still quite fresh and still plenty of fight in them when you get them in because there is so little room to “fight” them. You’re a braver man than me! lol 👍🙂🏴

I noticed you’re using a Fluro trace there. What’s your thinking about using them rather than wire?
People say that they’re not line shy but I find on my local canal (which is usually gin clear) that I get way more offers on fluro.

Make sure you get a good bag and make sure you distribute the weight evenly throughout the bag. Makes such a difference.

hei man! How thick (in mm) is your fluoro leader (or pounds resitance)? Also what knot do you use to connect your snap to leader and main braid to fluoro? I am fishing for pikes since i was a kid but in Romania we use pre-made steel leader but as they got more and more expensive, fluoro leader is such a great deal but i am a beginner at it and i don't know much, thank you!

Hello, what trace are you using?
I use to use 12 grams ABU Reflex, a spinnerbait, in silver and orange body, even for big pikes and perch...test it it will amaze you. My biggest onthat is 10 kgs on a lightrod.
I see you are using 83lb breaking strain for pike fishing here do you always use that heavy?

Or pickerel, which is like pike but much, much smaller lol

Hope it's not RIP on the camera falling in. Never fished in a canal as none nearby. I'll be fishing with worm during closed season, frowned upon frown away I'd rather be out and about than sat on my sofa.
Sad that the fishermen here don't care about spawning periods. They fish as normal and take whatever they want home. Especially turks, polish and africans seem to do it.
They'll eat anything....... including your bait!
