    Love the video. When is open inland lake fishing season in the yoop? I've always fished them all year long.

    Just got back from Craig Lake, 4th year now. We stayed 4 nights at campsite 3 this past trip. We wanted site 9 but it was occupied, but actually pleased with site 3. We normally go in September, this year we tried June and the misquotes were so bad. Tried to portage to crooked for the day to fish, but so much layover with trees, just stayed on Craig. Maybe see you guys out there one year.

      We were able to repair them with some carbon fiber tape and are now used as backups!

    Hey Heather & Brian! Love the new video!! A couple years ago, I day hiked around Craig Lake. I remember noting site 6 and 7 being pretty nice! I would love to get back there again. I Remember it being a really, really long drive back to reach the park! Take care and keep wandering! Thx, Ken

      I really want to hike the perimeter! I never have. And yes, it’s quite the drive in and the road definitely could use some grading this year. Thanks for watching!

    Nice video. Craig Lake, looks good, and so close from the Houghton area. Went completely under my radar. Thank You for the blip. I might have to take the kayaks down to paddle sometime. Looking forward to some summer temperatures(*puts out vibes*) and a kayak camp to Montreal Falls or some random bay beyond. Eagle Harbor is my next itch this year.
    *edit in* I was looking at the map and.. is there a Craig Lake at Craig Lake State Park? either way. Three Lakes, Michigamme, not quite off my radar but the state park was.

    Loved the video. Do you have to reserve the camp sites or is it first come first served?

    • @peteshallcross787
      @peteshallcross787 2 роки тому

      Mark, it's first come first served. This is a beautiful place but very rugged. Very buggy, bring your head nets. You will have to carry your gear and kayak/canoe in about a mile. I do wish people would stop putting it on youtube. Happy camping!

    • @brianandheatheroutdoors

    Can you camp on any of the islands? I will be visiting my sister in Chicago next spring, coming from the DC area. Bringing my kayak. Between Craig Lake State Park and Sylvania what would be your choice to visit?

    • @brianandheatheroutdoors
      @brianandheatheroutdoors  2 роки тому +2

      At state parks camping is only permitted at designated camp sites so you wouldn’t be allowed to camp on the islands at Craig Lake State Park. Otherwise dispersed camping is allowed on any state owned land. And as a visiting tourist I’d say depends on if you like to fish. Sylvania has better fishing but is regulated.
