Fourth House - Wild World

Excellent cover version of the Cat Stevens classic by anonymous studio group Fourth House, which became a Top 20 National hit, and even Top 10 around much of Australia in 1970. It was soon revealed that the excellent lead vocal was by Danny Robinson, former lead singer with 2 legendary 60's Aussie bands The Wild Cherries & The Virgil Brothers. Danny had visited producer David MacKay's home & David was playing Jimmy Cliff's version, and it was that visit that served as the catalyst for them to pair up & record this great version, a one off early single for Fable Record which was not followed up on.

I used to rush home from work everyday and watch channel 10 at 4.30. Had a hit parade on... and I wanted to watch this song sung by 4th house. I liked it better than the original.

Just discovered this little gem on the Fable Lost Hit's CD. First time hearing it and I think it is a wonderful cover.

Danny Robinson (Fourth House pseudonym) was given the opportunity to sing this in one take at Armstrong's, Melbourne, December 1970. I think it is a better version than Cat's!
