The saddest thing of all is he never got to see how much the fans would come to love his character. A lot of fans liked him as a character and the delivery from Ray more than the protagonist
Yeah, he's actually a very complex and interesting character. I'm not gonna say he's good but he's not an outright evil Sith either. Its sad when a side character is more complex and developed than the protaganists.
It's never an easy choice to set things right. Baylan is no doubt one of the thousands of extraordinary characters in Star Wars. About their origins, their motivations, their decisions to make destinies pure and beneficial, about their epic proportion of fighting skill and strategy. Excellent tribute!
Good edit! I didn't care about the Ahsoka series until I saw Ray Stevenson's character. I remember him as Dagonet in King Arthur 2004 film. And he played his last role very well and gloriously. May he Rest In Peace and the Force will always be with him.
I think Baylan wants to become a new version of the Father, but instead he'd being manipulated and drawn in by something or someONE that desires to be unleashed. "She is ancient, and powerful, and dangerous. VERY dangerous. But you're on to her now. She is never what she appears. Remember that." ―Mara Jade Skywalker
I hope he is recast. Don't misunderstand, Ray was perfect and irreplaceable. Don't you think his character should continue what he started instead of being simply killed off so that his less popular and less effective apprentice can do it for him? I do. Let Baylan stay and honor Ray's passing by continuing the character and hopefully, for once in his career, Filoni doesn't screw it up. With Ray and Baylan, Filoni has struck gold and while I do know that the majority of Filoni's work is just references to far better stories such as Arthurian lore or Norse mythology, I simply must pass on something I don't see many people mentioning: Baylan is not a name but rather a title. It is a Philippine word (or close to that region) which roughly translate to shaman or more acutely a person either already having a close relationship to or seeking out spirits both evil and good, and usually for other people rather than himself.
@@CreatedByNoriElan The problem is that Baylan, as a character, is at a no-win scenario. If he is recast, then Ray's brilliant performance may be overshadowed by a new actor whether that means that the new guy is better or worse. On the other hand, if he is not recast (which seems far more likely), then he's just another beloved character that crappy Disney pushes his accomplishments and goals on to less effective, less popular, and possibly even completely new characters that _no one_ cares about. Personally, recasting him makes more sense if the show was animated. We still see new Count Dooku but Sir Christopher Lee, who I consider impossible to replace, is not *voicing* the character. All I really hope is that the character we got with this solid base is not ruined by the writers AND Baylan's continuation after the passing of Mr. Stevenson is done tastefully and what I might mean by that is that the performance is still human instead of an uncanny fake face and a monotone voice. Who knows? I've already seen a disturbing fan theory that states Baylan will sacrifice himself off screen and either Ahsoka will remake the Star Wars universe or Anakin will be brought back to life. That whole fan theory sounds atrocious yet I'm sure some of that is what Disney is actually planning.
Pretty sure as of this moment, The Father, The Daughter, and The Son are all dead. So the only person he could find that is a comparable factor is.... Well, things will be VERY bad for the universe at large, and extremely bad for Baylan.
what an amazing character, developed in such a short time, especially because of Ray's incredible acting
what a terrible loss.

Last scene with the bird tapping on the rock was from The hobbit. 😂

If there is a God, I imagine this how he greeted Ray Stevenson when they met.

No, I'm selfish.............. I don't want to see anyone portray Baylan but Ray. I'm sure Disney will recast him......

@@BLBborn That fan theory sounds like a great way to kill a franchise that's already dead.
Gone to soon, he still had great work to complete... 😞
R.I.P. Ray Stevenson.
❤❤❤
Baylan Skoll is legit Madara Uchiha
This is rhe way.
😎🖖🖖🖖
Why tf did it cut to the hobbit😂😂
Probably becuase Filoni kind of stole several ideas from the LoTR and Hobbit movis?

Hobbit scene :D
While I really enjoyed this... the Hobbit scenes kinda ruined it a tad haha
Yeah, but Filoni did rip a lot of stuff off from those movies, so its not unjustified.
Abigon is coming
