This build was peak leaguestarter for me. I trusted Goratha not to bait me. Dont think ive ever had a smoother mapping experience but I ripped to exploding chaos crystals. split life and es makes it hard to tell you are dying to chaos :(
lol I ripped to crystals just a bit ago. Different build but yeah those damn crystals stacked in the same spot under me so fast I couldn’t even see what killed me till after everything cleared and the crystals were left there. I Go agane!
Foibles I've bought at 10c several times the last few days catalyzed and sold for 4d. Average now is like 60c 2 weeks into league. Headhunters on softcore 8div the economy is screwed
archmage works on impending doom btw. with the change on the gloves you just need a bit more aoe now. but hiero solves it on the ascendancy + some aoe on the trees need like 300% and decent cast speed

8:37 did those frostbolts hit the ramp in game and start flying towards the screen lol
yeah projectile skills tend to do that (even lightning arrow can do that).
But its funnier with FB :D especially with slower proj since it can completely obstruct your camera for a bit in certain angles.

I played a whole bunch of Archmage before it got nerfed and loved it. When I saw the archmage changes it was immediately obvious to me that this was going to make archmage strong. Even before the nerfs, especially to mana, it was hard to maintain mana. You would oom yourself in about 5-10 seconds of casting even with heavy mana investment (without indigon!).
And that was on Ball Lightning with spell echo and greater spell echo (1 mana cost = 4 casts). Ice Nova would've been about 4x more mana cost than that even, so it was completely off the table back then.
With the changes Ice Nova immediately became good for archmage. The only problem with it is the stupid transfigured gem farming you have to do to get it.

i think u just slap whatver in there its all about the flat added damage from arch mage skill is just a medium to deliver that damage

@@martin87025 if it was a little easyer to target farm specific uniques i prolly would. but i usually do at least 6-7+ builds per league and some a really weird and require uniques to work, dont wanna spend weeks just farming one item for one build i wanna try that i maybe stop playing at lvl 80-85because it didnt work like i thought or somehting. i enyojed ssf in last epoch, but even in le i HATED to just chainfarm the dragon timeline for twistet heart, killed him 20-25 times, never got it btw. also u cant even play with a homie in ssf. it should be more like "bro ssf" and u can trade with the ppl u play with, like again, in last epoch.
Every content creators, "can't play with 2 button build" me destroying enemies with venom gyre, tornado and whirling blades😂😂
im currently doing Ice nova of frostbolts build. That thing is tanky af! Im running yellow maps with gear i picked up from the ground before i even finished act 5. And im facetanking 90% of the damage. Also its not a 2 button for me... its actually 4 buttons (including the movement skill). Basically Shield rush into a group->use frostbolts with arcanist brand->use punishment (both to debuff and to give time to the brand to activate)->spam Ice Nova. I like the brand version better because it spams way more frostbolts than i can make with self cast
Sadly i think it will be nerfed to oblivion :(

Ran Ice Nova of Frostbolts last league. Didn't even try to go tanky and could full screen clear with aoe inc clusters and never take damage. Super busted build.
Archmage support with Call Of The Brotherhood and tons of damage effectiveness skills is so devastating lol
I specced a character into this with some pretty good gear and it did T16s easy with a lvl 10 ice nova, lol. It is very good.

Steel, if you want a good trick to tell if your aura is on. You can now bind it to left click, it's still move only but you can at least see the aura.
Ice nova of frostbolts kills my fps in some content lmao. Really annoying.
Pinpoint is probably better for Ball Lightning than GMP/Volley. You get multiple projectiles when mapping and you get single strong ones when spamming on a boss.
i started with ball lightning and change to this its SO FUCKING GOOD.
Ball Lightning in general is an absolutely excellent skill. It's good single target damage and it's mechanically a very good map clear skill - it has a duration, so you don't have to constantly cast it, it kills everything in its path and it has large screen coverage.

GhostWrithe Cold Snap, Glacial Cascade shield leech, and Frostbite Curse On Hit Creeping Frost! With 40 level Cast On Hit Vaal Vortex, and Vaal Ice Nova. It's a Double Trick, Triple DoT Stack Killer with frozen stun-lock.

That looks actually really nice. I think I'll see if I like a PoB of a Witch version of this. Maybe with Golems for comfort!
I invested in a immutable force early on with this build since stuns are a real problem. Since the dmg requires a bit of setup (2 button build) and one of your big defenses is leech you cant really afford to get stunned a lot. That alone made the build much smoother and it gets a lot smoother again once you reach enough cast speed (I personaly play the arcanist brand version).
