How can such a sad song make you feel so good about a love lost? I guess thats the genuis of Jackson. One of my generations greatest singer songwriters.
Medical experts say as we age our brain shrinks, now mine wasn't very big to start with. This is another excellent job of writing and performing by Jackson. Jackson always got us to feel what he felt inside. This song is one of several masterpieces written by Jackson. The feeling and emotion in his songs has always been easily palpable. Arguably the best of the boomer generation (James Taylor is right up there and who could forget Bob Dylan all too briefly Jim Croce.) The problem is that my ever shrinking brain is having trouble following the lyrics. I know that's what it is cuz I've listened to this by entire life. Enough about me God bless you all SHALOM
Always loved this song. Now that I’m older it makes me reflect on the people I’ve loved and lost, my parents, my young niece, friends.also my daughter, who I almost lost...to see her smiling face now is such a gift.
Thank God I finally got to see him on stage six years ago at a rather non-descript "Dylan" concert in Orange County. How wonderful! One of my favorite all-time songwriters. Neither a word nor note EVER placed haphazardly. Incredible artistry!! Such love. Jackson Browne - a national treasure.
In my lessons at love's pain and heart ache school. powerful lyrics through out this song, just picked these. great song, great upload. thanks, ... COA ...
such a beautiful song that bring so many memories that comes and shows many clips running in my mind. great memories, and then comes the sad ones..... still miss you, i'll always miss you my dear friend.
....and while the future's there...for anyone to change...still you know it seems ....it would be easier to change the past ..... * but we all know that's not going to happen ,,,,,,, Love your composition of song and video ...thank you for shareing
Wow! I have always loved this song and this video could not have been done any better! It is beautiful. Stunning! Poignant. Powerful message for so many relationships...and filled with hope! The photographs perfectly compliment the lyrics. Incredibly moving to me. What is that water flowing from my eyes like a fountain from a pool...?
“A good photograph is knowing where to stand.” Ansel Adams . . . We will only understand that perfect point of perspective, by understanding the errors of everywhere we once stood. There are so many times in life where our moments of joy could last, if only we could lay away the haunting wounds of the past. Thank You "Individual" for this artful work a souls reflection, Will
When you see through loves illusions there lies the danger. And your perfect lover looks like a perfect fool. So you go running off in search of a perfect stranger.
My wife and I went through a separation a decade ago and it was severe. We were raising 3 girls and wanting to be happy anyhow inspite of that we were at a theme park having fun together. On a Rollercoaster she sat one car ahead of me and I did catch a photograph of her as she was turning around to see who was behind her. This song was my experience with her and it reminded me a decade and half later that it was a mistake to cause that sorrow and it made me love her more today. I know sappy sappy but the feelings are deep deep. Love is great.
How does a person get permission to represent a score with video like you did here? Photographs are so reflective and suggestive at the same time and its truly a good visualist as you demonstrated. Bravo!😄👍❤
Only prob with this video is that the lyrics are about 3-4 seconds late in appearing on the video. We need to see cue cards several seconds before they enter our brains. FYI!
It amazes me how many of us are in the same place at different times in our lives.
